Have purchased the New Balance 608v5 several times. Nice walking shoe for casual wear and walking. Purchased a 10 wide and fits great - supportive and comfortable.

This shoe fits true to size in terms of size and width, but it is a very hard bottom. After wearing these shoes for long periods of time cause pain on the bottom of foot and ankles as well. Within about 8mo, the sole of the shoe started to detach from the upper of the shoe so did not have the durability I would expect from New Balance. I've bought a lot of shoes from New Balance and have noticed a steady decline is quality and comfort.

I have never tried on a pair of shoes that make my foot feel so uncomfortable, especially when walking. The shoes make my foot go through excess overpronation. Love the appearance of these shoes, but not the feel during walking. Was surprised that New Balance shoes were made this way. I have bought New Balance shoes exclusively over past 25 years, but these shoes do not meet my expectations.
I'd also recommend:
no other brands... I am a very dedicated New Balance customer and buy nothing but NB

I bought these shoes specifically for working out and training on my elliptical machine. The shoes are super comfortable and provide a stable platform for both lifting and working out on the elliptical. I would definitely recommend these shoes as a workout shoe, but also as a daily shoe for just kicking around, they are that comfortable.

The last 3 pair of shoes I have where not as wide as previous one's The wide designation doesn't seem to be like it used to . Why not fix the so people like me with size 11 can get a wide shoe like they used to be.

This is the 3rd pair Ive bought for my boyfriend. Every year or so Ill gift him a new pair because theyre his favorite. Especially since they come in wide sizes! Only downside is I wish the material around the toe was more durable. Thats the main thing to break and be the reason for a new pair. He still uses them for mowing or work shoes though. But loves getting a fresh pair
