The leather material is very firm. It was too firm & unbending for me around the ankles and that is why I returned. Other than that I would have kept the shoes. The fit was good and the support was nice.

After 5 months the sole delaminated from the shoe. Another pair had the same problem after about 7 months

The "size guide" said that because I wear an Easy Spirit Dress shoe in 9.5N to 10N, I should get a 10 in this shoe. But it also said that becasue I wear a 11.5 in Nike running shoes, I should get 11.5. Athletic shoes run larger than standard shoe sizes in most brands, but I called customer service to ask. They said to get the 10. Boy were they wrong. Because they were so small I can't honestly evaluate the width, but I have been searching and searching for a narrow width cross trainer. Nike is great for running, but absurdly wide in training shoes, so I tried these. Now I don't know what to do, whether to try a larger size or give up.

I usually wear Nike but their cross training shoes are way too wide for my narrow foot. The size finder said that because I wear at 10 in Easy Spirit I should get a 10; but because I wear a 12 (!) in Nike, I should get a 12--what to do? I called Zappos and they said go with 10--boy were they wrong! Way too short. Don't know what size to try, now. Couldn't really assess width because they were so much too small in the length. Arch support inadequate, tho there is some.

It actually fit fine except for the length. There was not the 1/2 inch toe space at the tip. After wearing around the house on carpet for a time, my toes were sore. Returned for replacement of a 10 wide and also a pair of 10 med in case the wide was too wide.

none. i have always gotten good service from New Balance esp. these 680 cross trainers! Great show

I've been wearing another New Balance Style for years. It was discontinued. I called New Balance and they told me this was similar. It was not. There is nothing wrong with the shoe, other than that it isn't right for my foot. I need to try on another trainer to see if I can get one that conforms to my foot the way my old one did. I would recommend this shoe to anyone who is looking for a new trainer. It may fit you perfectly. I hope so.

But they are not comfortable. They taper to the toe and are too snug for what I consider to be a true D width. They give good arch support - I just cannot wear them comfortably for more than 30-40 minutes, which isn't long enough time for my usual workouts. If I had tried these on in a shoe store, I would have passed - I guess that's the chance you take buying shoes on-line.

Unfortunately the toe box room for my left foot was too short, and I have to return them. Otherwise they would have worked well for me.

The shoe looked great, but was too wide up front and did not fit well in the heel. There was little cushioning in the sole and they were not comfortable to walk in, especially on hard surfaces (wood, cement and linoleum). I walk a lot daily, so these have to be returned.

I have been wearing these for many many years & was very satisfied until the last ones. We saw black marks on our hardwood & bath room floors. When I stopped wearing them the black streaks stopped. Quality control?

I have been wearing a version of this sneaker for 20 years and always bought 81/2 D (med) and they have fit great. The last two pairs I purchased seem to be too short compared to the old 8 1/2Ds. Not sure If there is quality problem with manufacturing. The label on all pairs say they were made in Indonesia, but the newer pairs don't fit the same. I never really experienced "break in" issues with these sneaker in the past, with respect to sizing. When new, the sneakers are a bit stiff, but comfortable. The two newer pairs rub on my toes and are tight across the top of my foot. I lace my sneaker the same way, but something is different. I will "order up" 1/2 a size next time and try a 9 D. Maybe my feet are getting bigger with age, but my dress shoe size hasn't changed. I still think New Balance are great shoes, if the fit is correct.

After wearing the original 608, I bought another one last year and was very disappointed. They were too small, I thought they’d stretch and be comfortable like my prior pair, but they remained too small, my fault for keeping them. This time, I ordered a half size larger, and U am once again happy with this shoe. Definitely run small, I should have read the reviews prior to purchasing last year, I learned my lesson - read the reviews!!

I'm disappointed . Tthe sneakers are a 10 1/2 D--my usual size, and the same size as my last pair of New Balance sneakers. But this pair is really cut too wide. In order for them to fit I have to wear 2 pairs of sox. Yes, the secondary pair is very thin --very light, black business sox. But the fact is my white cotton gym sox are not thick enough for me to wear this particular par of sneakers comfortably--and in the past they always have been. I love New Balance and I love Ll:Bean, but this pair really doesnt quite make the grade. My feet havent shrunk, I'm sure--all my other shows fit the same as they always do..

Although I've had several pairs of NB over the years, and they always fit great, I had to return this pair. There's sort of an odd cutout on both sides of the top and the stitching at that point inside the shoe rubs on my littie toe--only on my left foot, but there you go. I wear a Women's 11D, and the size/width were fine.

I’ve wore New Balance for years. It was time for a new pair, but these were so uncomfortable. I wore them less than an hour and kept getting cramps in the souls of my feet.

These were purchased to fit over 2-part AFOs. I selected them due to the advertised "wide width", but found them to be a bit narrower than expected, and they barely fit over AFOs. The insoles have been removed to accommodate the AFOs, so arch support is a non-issue. The outer sole is acceptably flat, the tongue does have a long opening for the laces to be loosened for putting them on, but the width is a bit snug with the side velcro straps of the AFOs rubbing and catching the lining. The heel depth is a good fit and the length seems true to size. The style and appearance are right on the money so the shoes don't look like "specialty" or orthopaedic shoes.

Unfortunately these had to be returned. The right shoe was smaller than the left even though they were marked the same size. This rarely happens with New Balance.

I really liked the shoe at first. It was comfortable, looked professional and was light. After a few days of wearing them they began to irritate the side ankle bone since the side of the shoe comes up a little high. Sadly I had to return them.

I have always wornNB shoes in a 10 1/2 EE until recently. I ordered these in 10 1/2 but they are short so am returning them say my local LL Bean store and have reordered a pair in 11 EE.

I’m so disappointed. I’ve worn 608 from the beginning, yes I’m older. They felt short in the 7.5 my toe hit then end and was afraid the 8 would be too big. New Balance is the ONLY sneaker I wear. I always have 1 pair in reserve and I’m about to wear them. I wish I had known the 608v4 was being replaced as I would have purchased more. Too bad companies don’t ask customers.
I'd also recommend:
