I came to the website to see about getting an end-of-season deal because my Sorels had completely split at the seams and I thought I just had a lemon. After checking the site, I see that my experience is not unlike many others! I live in Vermont and only wear these when shoveling. I figure I have worn them less than 30 times for no more than an hour each time and both boots have fallen apart. These were my first Sorel boots and I bought them thinking they were good quality. I guess it is time to try a different brand. Do not waste your money on these boots!

I purchased these boots a few years ago and was happy with the performance and quality at first. They kept my feet warm with only a light merino wool sock. These were not worn all winter, only in snowy conditions. Probably worn on average 3-4 times a season and stored in a dry spot away from direct heat or sun. This winter, 2019, during the first snow I pulled the boots on and the upper completely separated from the lower. The rubber material had deteriorated on both boots. Of course they are out of warranty now. Maybe Sorel has solved the issue since. If they have, I would buy them again because they are not bulky, I can drive my truck and operate skid steer controls without issue. Do not buy unless the issues have been ccorrected.

These are beautiful boots with attractive features. I purchased them before moving to a region with extreme climate and used them periodically for recreation and light utility work under occasional heavy snow conditions. They held up fine through about 5 years of infrequent use and then the seams began to split. Both boots fell apart after their most recent use, the uppers splitting entirely from the rubber bottoms and the rubber disintegrating into bits that were left in my tracks. The useless 1-year limited warranty belies the investment that this price point represents and I take it to be an admission of inferior quality on the part of Sorel. I thought perhaps I had an inferior pair and am shocked to see among these reviews just how common this problem is. Buyer beware.

In under 1.5 years, these boots came apart like a cheap suit. That's 1 season. Apparently, Sorel thinks that amount of time is beyond the lifetime for these boots, as the are already out of warranty. $150 down the drain. I will stress this to every backpacker, outdoorsman, and Ice fisherman I meet, along with every Boy Scout in my troop: The Sorel I knew as a kid is gone. It has been replaced with a fashion company that traded quality for mass production, and could cost you your toes if you take them somewhere where you need to rely on your gear.

I purchased a pair of Sorel Conquest winter boots in December 2012. Despite applying the proper footwear care, the rubber outsole has cracked on both sides of one boot and the rubber-to-leather stitching has failed on both boots. I realize these boots are six years old but they probably have less than 120 hours of wear. I live in a temperate climate so they only get used a few times a year. When the Sorels weren't in use they were wiped clean, treated and stored indoors. I took the boots to a knowledgeable shoe repair place. It was the owner's opinion that it is a defect in the rubber quality and stitching workmanship given that the boots were cared for and had little sign of wear.

Like many others, cracked and failed after 2 years of intermittent use. I don't live in the snow and only used them 10-12 times. My question is, does Sorel care?

This was a great boot while it worked. However, after a couple years the rubber sole broke away from the leather upper. They aren't sewn together, just glued; the glue failed so now they're trash.

The rubber completely fell apart. Do not buy. I've hardly ever worn them. They need to go back to their materials purchasing department and yell at the person that bought this rubber.

These boots had all of 4 trips outside over two years (See like new tread on sole) Like many of the negative reviewers here, the rubber casing came completely apart. So much so that the heel detached from one of the boots. For the money paid these boots should have lasted a lifetime. Avoid these boots!

I had a pair of these and the rubber broke down after only two seasons. Not worth the money.

What a shoddy product. I've worn these boots less than 10 times total, and haven't subjected them to any rough treatment at all. I wore them to the mountain 3 days ago when I took my daughter sledding, and when I came back home, I noticed that both shoes had large cracks on top of the toes, where the bottom had completely split form the top part (under the stitches). The shoes look nice, keep the feet warm, and are comfortable to wear.... but what good is all that if they are going to be torn apart from a few days of gentle use? See pictures for how bad the damage is, and I included a pic of the sole, so that you can see how unused the boots are.

I am a Ski Patroller and have sworn by Sorels in the past. I got the conquest model when I needed a new pair this season. They separated between the rubber and leather on both boots within wearing about 5 times. I had not even thought about reading reviews on these boots since all my Sorels over the past 30years had been great quality. I read reviews after I had issues with this model and saw all the poor reviews noting the same issue. This model is poor design, workmanship and quality that Sorel should really stand behind irrespective of the one year warranty. Not sure what has happened to such a good company, but this will likely start impacting their bottom line if they do not address as past loyal customers will leave and the internet will deter future customers. I am really disappointed in Sorel.

I couldn't have been more excited to get a pair of winter boots..non the less a pair of sorel boots. I have always wanted a pair but would never spend the money. I received these as a gift from my fianc. I have worn the boots prob 10x total over the course of 2 or 3 winters. To this day they still look like day came out of box. Did everything you would want kept foot dry warm and for a pack style boot in my opinion not at all bulky easy to drive in break period was non existent. Now for the bad..for the amount of use these boots have recieved and the price they are very disappointed in the quality from a sorel. Wishin the first few wears the draw string cord broke on both boots...upsetting but didn't bother me all that much..the real issue the boot split apart were the rubber meets the leather. So now please tell me what good this boot is?....brought to a local shoe repair nothing they can do told me boots are no good anymore unless liked wear them as is. Obviously sorel is not going to do anything being these carried a 1year warranty. If these boots worked as they should I would buy them time and time again like stated previously they were INCREDIBLE for their purpose would gladly spend the money again BUT WONT BECAUSE THE QUALITY IS NOT THERE ANYMORE. Sorel was always a great name boot and maybe this particular model has a issue maybe it's all there boots now idk that answer. I JUST WISH THEY LASTED ALOT LOT LONGER

Had these boots for years, until they split apart much like all the others reviews. Thought nothing of it as they were used a lot. Then I had a newer pair and another PAC boot version. They too split the same way, and I only wore them 3 or four times. They aren't sold anymore and I am starting to wonder maybe that's why. Sad to say i may be looking at another brand this time

I was amazed and saddened to see that my left boot is coming apart at the seam where the rubber and leather meet. I did not expect this from Sorel and for the price point in which these boots are sold. Even more disappointing is that these boots only carry a 1 year warranty - again not what I expected from Sorel. I've owned the boots for a few years but honestly only use them about 3 times per winter. I figured they would last much, much longer. Poor quality.

Actually love the boots, but what good are anything if they split at the seams. The soul ("rubber") where it's sewn to the upper split all the way around and there's no way to repair. I like the boots some much I was here to purchase another pair but after reading some of the reviews, my situation is not unique! I'm looking to D**uth for a similar pair unfortunately.

I was simply floored today. I put on my good looking boots to do a little work around my snowing yard. After about 15 min in the yard I noticed pieces on my sole actually coming apart. I looked down and followed the little prices of sole everywhere I walked.. this was only the fourth time I wore these boots.. Beware and don't waste your money unless Sorel fixes the issues with these boots..I only wished I could upload a picture of these boots..

I purchased a pair of your Conquest boots from Dicks Sporting goods about 2 years ago and I loved them. They keep my feet warm, the fit is awesome and the traction is amazing. I have worn them last winter and this winter maybe a total of about 20 times as I only use them only when I snow blow, so anything over 3 inch snow. So I'm estimating high just to be fair. I never had a problem until last week. I went to lace them up to snow blow and I noticed the leather had separated from the rubber on one boot in two places along the side and at the heal. I was shocked because otherwise they still look relatively new. Now I'm stuck with snow boots with gaps where snow and water can enter the boot. So I thought I would drop you a message to let you know. Then I noticed all of the comments from people with the same problems. I understand that any warranty may have expired. But I wanted to express my concern for a company that "had" a good reputation for producing high quality boots seems to have now chosen profit over quality. I'm concerned that you would continue to sell a boot that has had this problem for many years and continues to have this problem as most recent as 2 months ago according to your website reviews. It's a shame because otherwise I really like this boot. But I can't justify spending $150.00 for a boot that could only last for a few wears. Please step up your game Sorel, because your well-earned reputation for quality is falling fast. This type of product will certainly lose your lifelong customers. I'm hoping that Sorel will step up and do something to try to keep me as a customer.

I have had these for two years used them maybe 20 times to snowblow my drive and sidewalk and they are busting at the seams. As you can see from the tread they look brand new. Now they are not water tight so yeah they maybe warm but once you step in snow or slush your foot is wet.

I've had these boots for a few years. This year the rubber began falling off in several places rendering them unusable. I read reviews on Google and many other people have had the same issue. I contacted Sorel and they said to send them in even though they were out of warranty and they'd either fix them or send me a merchandise credit/refund. I hope they stand by their word. These are expensive boots that I expected to last a lifetime.
