These are the most beautiful boots. they are so so soft. I have tried every type of boot style/brand you can think of. I do love Frye, Tory Burch, Burberry and some others. However, I took a risk and purchased these and wow!~ typically I wear a 7 but in Frye boots, lucky brand etc I always have to up the size because boots pinch my toes and nope, not these. the 7 fits like a glove. Also something that I love is the back. If you want to wear leggings or wear a thick pair of skinny jeans to wear them over you can do both. you can just loosen up the back a little, zip up the side and then tighten the back so it fits perfectly. no gap around the ankles which can be a big problem with lots of boots (sam Edelman) . I love them so much I just tried them on and went right back on to zappos to buy another color. Just with they sold them in black. Really the best, classic, clean and most comfortable boot. you will not be disappointed .

Love these. Super cute and love the lacing in the back so you can adjust size around calves depending on the pants you're wearing. Great color and can hardly wait to wear with so many different outfits.

These are the perfect knee-high boot! The laces in the back make it really easy to get just the right fit on your calves - sometimes my calves are a little too muscular to fit in a standard knee-high boot, but not large enough for wide-calf sizing. But these Sofft boots solve that problem! I bought the whiskey color and it is a beautiful shade of brown - not too dark, not too light. The sole is cushioned and will be comfortable for all day wear. And I should also mention the super fun cheetah-print lining on the inside! No one can see it but it’s nice to know it’s there. I have another pair of Sofft short boots and they are one of my favorites - I cannot wait for the weather to get cooler so I can start wearing these too!

I’m a size 6.5 with narrow feet and sometimes wear a 7 in heels. In these boots I was very comfortable in 6.5. The boots leave room in the toe box and do not look like clown shoes. I wore these brand new on a flight (not recommended as a strategy in general) and was comfortable running though the airport and sitting on a 4 hours flight, no hot spots. I haven't had these long enough to experience the peeling heel and hoping I don’t have that experience. The lace in the back is great for adjusting the calf for leggings and jeans.

Everything fit great except the boot height. I'm 5'1" and it touches my knees and press against the back of my kneecaps which hurts.

Leather is rich, soft and just beautiful, I get compliments on these boots all the time. I love the adjustable snug fit, especially since it can accommodate the weight/trim fluctuations. They are very comfortable and the arch support doesn't disappoint either. The outsole is very flexible and my feet are neither tired or sweaty after an entire day of standing/walking in these boots. I expect nothing less from Sofft, however, as other customers have pointed out, the block heel peels off without being nicked or scraped off and it's not been even a full season!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this boot ! I truly thought that my dream of having a pair of leather knee high boots would never come true. I have very large calves (17 1/2) and the laces were not long enough so at first I didn't know if I was going to be able to keep them. But I went to the local craft store to see what I could find and purchased several options. The one that worked the best was the stretchy paracord. I doubted whether the black would look ok but they look fine. Can't wait to sport these for years to come.

I'm on my second pair of these boots. The first pair of Sharnell-1 Black boots, the heel also split, but Zappos helped me get them repaired. After that, the boots lasted several years of daily fall and winter wear. VERY comfortable for walking. For me, these are the best fitting boots ever, as they adjust to fit you with the laces in the back. Recommended?.

first let me say, these are the first boots in my 43 years that fit my skinny calves. I got the whiskey and the color is gorgeous, sort of a dark wine brownish color. I am concerned about the other reviews with the heel issue. My only issue is that my boots almost looked like "seconds." There are wierd marks on one, almost like a defect with the dying process. Returning is a hassle so I will keep them. Only time will tell if the heel holds up. Overall though a really beautiful boot.

I have the Sharnell I. That is wider than the Sharnell II. That is why I returned. It is a beautiful and comfortable boot.

Beautiful boots! I would describe the color as a variegated fudge. The fit felt a bit bigger than my normal size; I ordered a 6-1/2 at first and decided to exchange for a 6. The 6 fit much better, and after a couple wears, they’ve stretched a bit so I’m very glad I went down a half size. I will still be able to wear a lightweight sock with the room I have. The laces in the back allow some wiggle room. One thing that you’ll want to know is that the laces do come undone as you walk, so I had tie them with like my hiking boots and then double knot. Even then, I had to tighten them. Other than that, I love the laces. The leather is very soft, feels like good quality, and smells like a leather shop, which I love! Highly recommended. I wore them to work and convinced a coworker to order them as well. She was impressed with the style. The heel and bottom sole are quiet, so you don’t make clomping or clacking sounds. The arch support isn’t fantastic, but I have a difficult time finding support for my sky high arch. It is sufficient for me, so I’m happy. I believe these will be great walking boots as I continue to wear them in. Lastly, this is my second order with Zappos and I couldn’t be happier with the service and variety of products they offer!

Owned 2 pair of sharnells before, size 8. This pair feels too big. My heel is sliding up too far in the heel cup.

I was expecting to have to return these when I ordered them but was pleasantly surprised. They are pretty comfortable with a cushioned footbed, although the back of the heel is a little hard so I'm hoping it gets broken in eventually. The only thing I'm slightly worried about is the material just above the heel block. It looks like it was just glued on, so I'm not too confident in how they're going to wear. They're cute enough though that I'm willing to gamble and will just try to be careful not too beat them up too much.

These are my first Sofft purchase, and I am very happy with it! I walk or bike every day to work, and do a lot of walking or standing while at work, and have had so much trouble finding stylish boots that will support my feet all day. I also live in Minnesota, so I need shoes that are durable. These boots fit the bill so far! I also love the adjustable calf sizing, as most boots are too wide in the calf for me. I do want to point out that the other reviews pointing out that the "wood block" heel being just a sticker over rubber is true, which is why I only gave 4 stars. There's a tiny bit of peeling on mine, but it's not too noticeable.

Beautiful leather in rich, dark, warm, saturated browns. (Aztec Brown). Unexpected leopard lining — LOVE. I bought these to adjust to my 16-inch calves which are too big for normal size boots and too small for wide calf boots. I'd say 16 inches is the limit for these boots and I can't get them over jeans, just tights or leggings. I think it will be better if I spend more time with the lacing. Overall, a keeper for me.

I like these! Size for shaft is adjustable (because of the laces) so I can change it to match what kind of pants I shove in there. Plus no worries about gaining or losing weight and then not fitting anymore!

I LOVE these boots. The only reason I give 4 stars is because I had to order the same pair twice. The first pair had a defect in the zipper that caused it to rub in the arch of my foot, so I ordered another pair but the color was different. I know they're leather and a skin so the dying takes differently to each pair, but I do wish the first pair worked out. They were a little richer in color. Otherwise these boots are fantastic. I am an avid Sofft shoe lover and as always they are true to size. I'm an 8.5 and they fit perfectly. These are designed more for women with smaller calves, even being adjustable, so keep that in mind. I have narrow calves and it even took me a minute to adjust the laces and get the perfect fit. But the support in these is lovely - I have ankle tendinitis, and hip dysplasia, and these boots don't aggravate either condition. I also have high arches, and these feel so good on my feet. The toe box is roomy so I suggest a thicker sock with them, but you can get away with thinner ones too. Overall, I am so happy. I even ordered them in black! If they weren't so pricey I'd get them in every color.

These boots are beautiful. I was looking for a different color...something other than the typical brown or black. This is a distressed taupe/gray. The laces up the back allow for adjustment, so if you have wider calfs like me you can loosen the laces. The shaft goes all the way to just under the knee. It is TIGHT so I'm going to see if they have a 7 wide. The length of the footbed feels like a regular 7, though.

A tall boot that will fit skinny calves! YAY! Alas, the gray suede was more of a taupe than a cool gray, so it doesn’t fit with my clothing palette. Sad to return.

Finally stylish boots for girls with bigger calves. The lace up the back allows you to adjust the width to the perfect size. The leather is super soft.

Loved the style, but the brown was too dark. Got them in the light brown and am keeping them.

Great boots. A little stiff at the start. Hopefully they will break-in quickly. Love the laces for a nice tight fit.

I found these boots to fit true to size. They are *pretty comfortable,* but I added an additional arch support for better support. I love the look of the ties, but truthfully they do sometimes come un-tied I've found... and tying behind your calf when you're out and not trying to take them off can be kindaa tricky. Overall I'm happy with the purchase -- they feel high quality, like they will last at least a few years.

This is a really beautiful boot ... great workmanship and materials. I was excited at the prospect of finding a pair that I could adjust to fit my 13-1/2" calves. I ordered the size I normally do and it was a good fit in the foot. I was able to make them fit my calf, but unfortunately, I couldn't get the ankle to feel right and with every step, the boot pulled, rubbed and irritated to the point of hurting. It broke my heart to send them back.

These felt great underfoot (soft padding) and have a decent tread so you won't slide around. I also liked the deep, rich brown color. I loved how tight you could make them around your leg, which is a major reason I return most books. However decided on an even more simple pair that didn't have laces and a zipper.
