I bought 2 pair for my 12 year old grandson. He said the tag was hurting his back. I did not have time to return them. There is a huge seam that is sewn together behind the label on waist band in the back. So I ripped out the seam carefully opposite of where the label is (the outside)and whip stitched it by hand so the bit of bulkisness that was bothering him is now on the outside of the shorts and he is thrilled!!

Waist band is rough - hard on the skin. Fabric is not as soft as others.

These are a gym staple for me and I ordered another pair. The quality has deteriorated from those I bought a few years ago. Specifically, the waistband is stitched differently and the stitch pattern offers much less "stretch" than the older ones. And the drawstring cord is much lighter and has way too much stretch.

LOVE that the material (on the colors I ordered) is 100% cotton as described, 5 stars. DESPISE the scratchy, cheapo waistband and tag, 0 stars.

I made the mistake of tearing out the annoying tag after one time wearing them and it ripped the seam of the shorts as well. So, now they are worthless.

Not the quality they once were. Thinner fabric. Waist bands used to have fabric over them. Now the elastic rubs against the skin.

The quality is great as always, but the style has changed. The legs and "body" of the shorts are so much larger than the last ones. Holding them up, the waist band is the same, but the legs have about 2-3 more inches of fabric making them very baggy. (Maybe we just don't keep up with the new styles?) The were returned, miss the old ones!

I ordered 4pairs of 100% cotton shorts. I received 3 pairs of 100% cotton shorts and I pair of 50% cotton shorts.

Shorts fit right. Waistband on one of them has unstitched on a portion. I'm unable to use it now.

Thinner material and smaller/tighter cut from what Champion/Hanes was producing a few years ago. I expected the same level of cotton fabric quality, but it's been cheapened. I did side by side comparison and it's noticeably different in both regards.

Disappointed in the lack of comfort. Material is stiff and the band is sharp and rigid. I'm hoping they will soften the more they get washed.

Indeed these are advertised incorrectly, and are 60% cotton 40% poly. Hence the fabric is not as comfortable.

Well, they’re fine for round the house, which is what my husband wanted. The elastic is not as sturdy as the Champions I’ve gotten for him before, though. The price was right so I guess he will keep them.

1 of the 3 pairs of shorts I ordered had frayed around the elastic band on the shorts upon receiving them. The other two have been good so far. Kind of a bummer the one pair was thrown out, but whatever, the other two are fine.

Really wanted 5 inch so am having to shorten these 4 inches. . . . otherwise they are what I wanted.

Very flimsy and does not hold the shape. Stretches so that I probably should have ordered LARGE instead of X-large as I have worn for over 10 years.

The body material is fine; durable and comfortable. (Perhaps a bit thick for Texas summers) . The elastic is strange; "bumpy", uncomfortable and too tight for this size (XL)

I bought large, standard size, to allow for any shrinkage on washing. I normally wear medium and could barely get into these large sized shorts. Also the fabric is nice, but not nearly as plush as shorts I bought with Champion brand several years ago.

Waist band and fabric thin. Hubby has worn them for years and does not like the recent purchases.

These shorts used to be very good...years ago. Now the material is thinner and the elastic waistband is terrible. It's just not strong enough. This forces you to pull the slightly elastic draw string tighter and I loop it to make a knot in it so it won't loosen up again. But this makes the shorts hard to put on and take off. Moreover, the string is weak. It pops easily if you put too much tension on it, such as happens when you sit on the throne with the shorts down at your knees. Then the string bursts and you're back to square one. This has now happened to me with 5 of these shorts, and sadly, I'm now on the lookout for a different, better brand, and very sad that the once excellent Champion shorts are now just second rate.

I reordered these from about a year ago and was disappointed to find that the quality has deteriorated. The material feels thinner and the elastic waist is not as "stretchy" as before. I would rather they raise the price than cheapen the product. After just one wash the seam is starting to separate. Disappointing to say the least.

These shorts are larger than they need to be unless they are meant to shrink when washed. They are also thinner than expected and the waistbands are not particularly comfortable.
