Love this boot so much coming back for the black as I already have purchased the taupe. I wear a 9 and ordered a 9. Feels just a tad small on one foot but am afraid to get a 91/2 for fear the heel will slip. Is not uncomfortable at all and will stretch a bit. I have an average instep, average width foot and can slip into them with no problem. The quality is wonderful and look equally cute with jeans and a sweater as with leggings and a sweatshirt. Wore them in the rain and no water spots to speak of. Would recommend ordering your regular size and a 1/2 bigger just to see which is better for you.

They are as nice as I pictured them, the boot I had wanted for a long time. Excellent quality! I have been a costumer of Zappos for years ans their service is consistently oustanding!

I bought the size 10 first, which is what I always wear, and it was too small. I reordered the 11 and it's perfect.

I was actually surprised they fit my somewhat narrow but flat foot so well. I ordered the rust color directly from Born as it wasn’t offered yet on this site at the time. The top fits snuggly around my ankle. Plenty of room in the toe box. I like them so well thinking about a pair in the taupe color or the Born tavar style. I usually wear a 9 and ordered the 9. Great fit.

I have narrow flat feet so I have to wear these with a thick sock. (Wigwam, merino lite hiker - so cozy!) But once I put the sock on they are perfect. Very bouncy and comfortable. I don't totally love the style, they're very plain and they actually make my feet look kind of big. But I have to have really flat boots due to a bum leg so these are a really good choice. My feet are super happy even if my sense of style isn't totally thrilled. They are fairly cute, just not amazingly so. I usually wear between a 7.5 and 8, and size 8 was perfect.

I love these boots! I wear an 11 and I have narrow feet, and these boots fit me perfectly. They are comfortable, stylish, and I've had no issues with them walking in the snow. Definitely recommend.

I already had these in taupe...I wear a size 9 and they fit perfectly. Extremely comfortable to wear...the reason I bought a second pair. They are waterproof and look good with jeans....I'm a happy camper!

I love these boots. I wear between an 8.5 and a 9 and usually get 9s. The size 9 is slightly big on my narrow feet, but I put in a 3/4 orthopedic insert (which I wear anyway) and they fit perfectly. I wear these to work all the time...they go with everything, look great, and are practical here in the winter.

These are the first pair of Born shoes I have ever worn. I bought these in black and wasn’t sure if I liked them at first. My left sock wouldn’t stay up and the ankle part seemed too wide for me and I thought they would rub my leg/ankle when I walked. Now I wear short right ankle socks and that solved that problem and the movement didn’t seem to rub my leg or cause problems. Then I wore them walking around SF all day. Wow!! So comfortable! I have a hard time finding shoes that fit well, don’t make my knees or feet hurt and don’t aggravate my plantar fasciitis. My feet feel so good when I wear these boots! So I bought them in taupe too and wear them daily. They are also cute, waterproof/resistant, comfortable and warm. I wear them with jeans, leggings and dresses and they work with all. Yay!

Another nice bootie from Born! I wasn’t sure I would like taupe until I wore them! They go with lots of my clothes! They feel a tad narrower than the Sylvia but not so much that they were uncomfortable. I wear a 7 and so far all the Born booties fit well.i want to get them in black or maybe I’ll get the Tavar, they look pretty cool too!

My last born boots purchased maybe 6 years ago and worn often finally kicked the bucket. I loved them and was hoping to find a similar boot to replace them with. These weren't quite the same, but I was really attracted to the Chelsea style, but I wanted something that wasn't too loose around the ankle. These have a nice profile and conform to my ankle without being hard to pull on. I also liked the rounded toe, low-bulk sole and matte leather look. Although the are ever-so-slightly snug in the witdh, the toe box is roomy. They feel secure for lots of walking through boston city streets. I am sure the leather will stretch as well. After just a few days, I am very happy with them.

Love these! Tried several ‘Chelsea’ styles, but wanted something I could walk all day in. These are extremely comfortable. I thought they ran a bit big, but I will wear them with thick socks.

I bought these boots for my daughter and she loves them. They are perfect for Iowa winters and she can comfortably wear them throughout the school day.

Cute boots, will keep my feet warm and dry when I travel to Chicago and nice and cushiony soles. The front part kind of rubs my shins because it’s loose up front and maybe this will bug me later, but I’m taking a chance on them because they feel good everywhere else and I have very picky feet. I usually wear a 7 and got these in a 7.5 after reading other reviews.

I normally wear a 9 or 9.5. I am very glad that I purchased the 9.5, because as others have mentioned, these are not “easy on” shoes. Maybe I’ve just been spoiled by the comfort of my Sperry duck boots all winter, because the tightness around my ankle is very off-putting. They are also super tight across the top of my foot. They do look good, though, and I am hopeful that the leather will really stretch out with more wear, because my first day in them was not good.

Loved the style but I had to re-order in a black for a larger size. I hope those will fit. These were too small for me.

I like them. They are comfortable and cute. They were about .5 size too small so I had to return them and order a half size up. I held them up against my Clarks and the 9.5 is the same size a the Clarks size 9. With the 9.5 I could fit my orthotic, and they are very comfortable now.

I loved these boots, but they were a little too big, and uncomfortable when walking as my socks were pulled down with every step. Maybe it would be ok if they fit well. Nice looking. Good arch.

I have really narrow, flat feet so I have to use thick socks with these boots. But they are so comfortable and I'm wearing them for cold weather so it's fine. They are surprisingly cute for such flat, simple boots. I do think they make my feet look a little big because they are so flat, but the comfort outweighs big feet. My only complaint is that on one foot, the boot makes my sock slide down and it's really annoying and I can't figure out why it's happening. Thus the four, instead of five, stars.

I tried this boot in a 7.5 and an 8. I am typically a 7.5 but often wear an 8 if I am going to wear a thicker sock. I am a standard medium width, regular arches, etc. I tried this on with a light cushion merino hiking sock. The 7.5 was too small with the sock - which is typical. The 8 fit fine in length and width, but I felt pressure on the top of my foot. I also felt some pressure on the front of the ankle when I walked. Both of these may have gone away with time since the boot is leather and will probably stretch, but I did not want to take a chance. Also, this is a cute boot with socks and leggings but not that great with bootcut jeans - I love bootcut jeans, so this was a problem for me. I also think it would be cute with skinny jeans and a little leg showing in between based on looking at them with leggings (I don't wear skinny jeans). They had great cushioning - I think they would be very comfortable shoe for every day use and walking. They seemed kind of heavy on my feet, but I think a lot of ankle boots are that way these days.

This fits as expected. A little hard to get on but with time, it will be easier. Great look, qualty an comfort. Looking forward to long days of wear.

I thought these were going to be too small when I first put them on but the leather stretched quickly. I wore them to work and I had all day comfort. The only issue is that these boots kept pulling my socks down into the shoe.

These are just what I was looking for...but 2 issues. The size (7.5) feels tight with a medium weight sock, and in the cold Wisconsin winter I usually wear thicker socks for long hikes so I'll try a size 8. Also the top of the boot hugs my ankle way too tight and would definitely bother me when walking for a long distance. I'll try a half size up and see if that fixes both problems. Thanks to Zappos exchanges and refunds are super easy and quick!
