The tongue on this shoe is so high that it rubs your leg just below the shin. The heel box was too large which made the foot slide around. Must return.

I have an injured foot and have relyed on SAS for years to provide the best wear available for my feet. The sales people I've worked with have been exceptional, and I have only gratitude for their patience and care. However, I am quite disappointed in these boots. I wore them around the house to make sure they were comfortable before I kept them. However, wearing them outside was the true test and they failed for me. My biggest complaint is the soles. If you wear these around any gravel, the soles are designed so that the gravel gets caught in the small grooves and it is very difficult to get it out unless you want to walk around on gravel all day. The tongues are stiff and don't lay gently against the front of my ankle like my previous boots did. My old boots were much softer inside and allowed a softer, padded sock to make them even more comfortable.(Also, in case you are wondering why I didn't just buy another pair like those, they are no longer made.) I realize I have certain needs in my shoes and these "problems" may not affect others the way they do me. But I couldn't have predicted these issues before wearing these boots outside and now I'm stuck with them.

I tried the WW width but it was much too big and have to return these SAS booties. A huge thank you to Zappos for your incredible service. I've tried and returned many pairs of booties looking for the ideal fit and am giving up trying to find it. Thanks again for your patience.

This did not feel like a AAA at all; they were wide and sloppy. Also, the boot is rather heavy. I returned these.

I love these boots, however there is a problem with the left boot. I called and they gave me some very nice lip service suggesting that is is my foot that caused the bump in the side of the shoe. Ridiculous, as I don't have bunions. I feel that this should have been caught in final inspection.

SAS makes great walking shoes for narrow feet but these are clunky and too wide for my foot, and the tongue of the shoe is poorly attached, rubbing my bunion. I have tried their "Alpine" boot as well, but same problem. They need to make a boot that fits well and supports the ankle, especially in the winter. These are going back.

The Softwalk Wilcox fit well, but not sure it's water resistant. I'll let you know!

These boots are Beautiful and I love them, but, the fit is awful. The size and width was fine, the last bent inward and threw my feet inward which was very uncomfortable and painful. The shoe has an inclination to turn or bend inward. Sorry to have to return them because they aesthetically are beautiful boots.

I had hoped to find a good lace up walking boot for winter for my narrow size 10 feet. These were too large and too loose for my thin ankle. SAS Touring mesh is the BEST walking shoe I have found. Sadly, other SAS walking shoes and boots have huge toe room and large ankle room. Great for some, I know, but not for me.

This shoe has a seam that hits the outside of my right foot that hurts too badly to wear. I, however, don't have normal feet. I don't have toes on the foot that hurts, so I'm sure the part that hurts wouldn't hurt another person.

I special ordered this shoe from my local shoe store. After trying on the Freetime for size, it was determined I should order a 8 narrow. The 8 narrow in this shoe was approx. 2 widths too big! Very disappointed lately in SAS sizing and current lack of support for independent shoe retailers.

I was very disappointed. The nubuck leather is so stiff it felt like wearing wearing thick cardboard crates on my feet. They rubbed and dug in everywhere. I wear a 6WW and they were a bit narrow, which isn't unusual for my feet. But, if I'm going to wear boots that look like orthopedic shoes from the 18th century, they better be comfortable from day one. These Gretchens are really ugly.

These are amazingly uncomfortable for booties that look like orthopedic shoes. The leather is stiff and they rub on my ankles and across my instep. I think they're a little too narrow (I wear a 6WW) but it's hard to tell because they feel like heavy cardboard boxes instead of shoes. I'd be willing to wait for them to stretch and soften up if they weren't so ugly.

They run very large and don't fit. I take 12 narrow in your shoes but these are huge.

Beautiful boot but didn't fit. I wear a size 7.5 slim. This boot was way too wide even with thick socks. Very disappointed. Even called first to seek advice about sizing and didn't get good help.

I ordered these in WW, the widest option offered, expecting that they'd be — you know, wide. THEY WERE NOT. I could barely get my foot into the boot. Once I managed to get a foot in, the toes immediately felt cramped. Returning immediately. Very disappointed.

I would like these if only you would make the color ones ie. blue in narrow. You advertise widths but I am finding so many of your styles do not come in narrow although you are catering to people with wide feet , people that wear narrow would like to have choices besides black and older styles.
