I was very disappointed in these. As a shoe marketed as accessible, they still are only for a very narrow section of the market. They do not come in wide widths, the insoles do not come out, and they adjust in a very narrow range. I was looking for a pair of shoes to fit AFOs, and had high shoes with these "accessible" shoes, but they are WAY too narrow. So they're going back.

I marked "no arch support" because we took out the insole of the shoe to accommodate my son's AFOs. He is 6, and this is the first time he's been able to put shoes on all by himself and he was SO PROUD and excited to do it! His foot goes in easily and he can zip it around himself. He loves that they're not "so big" like his actual AFO shoes, he loves that they are "big kid shoes". The shoe also has a nice flat, smooth bottom for stability. As with EVERY shoe he wears though, he has torn apart the inside of the shoe in just 1-2 months. This is faster than some other shoes, but a concern nonetheless. He does walk with his AFOs so he's just brutal on shoes, so I'm glad he likes these and they work. Hopefully they'll hold up for a bit longer before they completely disintegrate :-)

I love that these shoes fit so well with my daughter's AFOs. She loves that her shoes don't look that different from her classmates. I love that she can be independent and put her braces and shoes on completely by herself.

Purchased for my 6 year old grandson who wears foot and ankle braces (DAFOs), so has difficulty finding shoes that open enough to get his foot in. These are perfect, stay on, and are attractive. He now has two pair. Especially nice that the all black — including laces and sole — are dressy looking.

This is perfect. If your child have XXXW feet i highly recommend to try this. My son is a dwarf (achondroplasia), he have very very wide feet with very high arc. For reference, he is 9 years old but his feet as wide as my feet at 39. It's almost impossible to find any shoes for him. Its always struggle for him to get into any shoes and it got to the point that he does not want to leave the house and does not want to go to school. This shoes fit him perfectly. Insole is removable. In our case we don't need to remove it. I know some one said that insole in not removable, maybe different colors have different insole options but ours was removable. We got one in black color, not the leather one, but black cloth one. Also insole is very soft, not too soft, just perfect. Because this one have a zipper and lace we were able to make his shoes as wide as we want with lace to accommodate his width and arc. But for easy on and off we use zipper. Its not too light and not too heavy, just like any other shoes, i would say more on the light side. Seriously, when we got this shoes I cried because my son no longer struggle to wear shoes and happy to go play outside and go to school.

This shoe was recommended by my sons occupational therapist. I wish they were made in wide width because I love the concept. These are too narrow for my sons feet.

My Grandchildren Love the Billy footwear. One is autistic and can now put his own shoes on. They never wear out , they grow out of these. I just rcd a purple pair high tops for my grand daughter her classmates are going bonkers over them. Been buying these from ZAPPOS for two years great service; delivery outstanding. Bought these shoes for my son with autism. He absolutely hates any thing that goes on his feet. These shoes make it easier to put his shoes on. Love these shoes!!!

Well made. This pair of shoes fits great and is easy to put on my child over his AFOs.

The 2 pair of Billy's were purchased for my handicapped niece, who wears brace/supports for both foot & ankle. She is not verbal, so it is hard to get a reply from her on the comfort. But from the way she walked when I put them on her, was a joy to see ! This style was just too good to be true !!!! We kept the high top pair as they seemed to be a better choice and extra support for her. What a great idea with the wraparound zipper.... just would suggest that they also produce this style in a little wider size too. The low top seemed to allow the heel to slip when walking. Her previous 'special' design tennis shoe were bulky and heavy, so was pleased to see how light weight these were for her. We are giving her a few days of wearing them to make sure that the fit is correct . VERY PLEASED SO FAR !

I could barely get these over my sons AFO. The high top ones seemed to work better.

Unfortunately, these shoes are not wide enough to fit my son's AFO. If these ever become available in a wider size, I will definitely buy them.

My third grader loves these shoes, and they look super cute on her! She loves how easy they are to put on and how comfortable they are to wear! As a special educator, I love seeing all the reviews from parents who find that these shoes accommodate their child's AFO's. While we don't have that issue to contend with at our home, I love that Billy has provided a stylish option for kids...so often, accommodations for kids with special needs make them stand out when they just want to fit in....these shoes definitely help them fit in!

We love the BILLY shoes for the easy zip up feature while having the look of traditional shoe laces. I do have to say that the fit does not work well for my boys when they’re in between sizes. So we can only wear them while at whole numbers and not at half sizes.

My daughter loves these. Wears them for Cheer.
