Decent shoe, but not Altra's best - they "squeak" quite a bit, sounding somewhat like having wet shoes on a tile floor... kinda weird that they do this, but pretty annoying. Also found them not to last as long as other Altra's.

Nice construction, the upper is very comfortable. Great toebox and comfortable for me in the mid-foot - the knit helps with flexibility and adaptability but is reinforced enough that I didn't slide around. I mostly wear more minimal shoes and these are so cushioned they feel like walking around on pillows to me. Lots of rebound and fun to walk in. Super comfortable, but I miss the responsiveness and ground feel of a lower-stack shoe. These seem like they would be great for transition to zero drop, extended standing on hard surfaces (concrete, hospital work, etc) or someone just looking for a really comfortable every day shoe. The sole height makes them a little chunky looking but I thought they look better on the foot than they do in pictures or by themselves.

third pair of Torins. I forefoot strike. I love the zero drop, and the wide toe box. Feel great to run in. I had the 2.5s, absolutely great shoes. the 3.0s were a bit disappointing, they wore out at 250 miles. So far the 3.5s are doing well at 100 miles.

This is probably my 6th pair of Torins and the new knit design is a really nice improvement. They fit very soft around around my ankle. Torins wear really well. For me, they usually last 4-6 months, depending on how much I am running and then I continue to use them as walking shoes. I wear a 10.5 street shoe, 11 in most running shoes and a full size up from that in Torins, 11.5. Great shoes.

I wear Altra Solstice for a street shoe. Excellent shoes also!

Love these shoes. Wish they had more styles (colors patterns) of this shoe

I'm a 12 (usually) in women's shoes so call me surprised when the 11.5 men's did not fit. It wasn't that they were too short, more like they were made for another kind of foot. My arch never hit the arch in the shoe - there was room to add some filler in there yet they were too tight on the instep. No matter how I laced them up, or even left laces undone and loose, still hurt the top of my foot. Which is too bad cause the toe box is so roomy and comfortable. Also, they didn't help pronation at all and kind of made it worse. I truly thought these would work. I have ridiculous feet as I get older, baby bunions, hammertoe from childhood acting all snarky as I get older, metatarsals that annoy me if they are in shoes that are too spongy and heels spurs in remission (yay). I could go up to a men's 12 I guess but these already are adorable clown shoes - any larger and I'd run out of room to place my feet anywhere. Size 12 women's is bad enough, thanks. Sorry, Torin. I really wanted to like you - if you have a steep high instep, you might want to either size up or give these a pass.

I recently started running and was having a lot of issues such as foot pain, ankle pain, and shin splits. I started running with minimalist type running shoes and my body was not ready for that. So I needed a running shoe with more cushion but also that was like the minimalist shoes I wanted to use. Meaning I wanted zero drop and plenty of room in the toe box. These Altras were perfect! My pains went away and thanks to these shoes I fell in love with running! I bought my wife a pair and she swears by them too! I am now a life long fan of Altra. I can't wait to buy my next pair. Thank you Altra!

I'm very active. Unfortunately I have bunions on both feet that are getting worse. Due to the wide toe box I've been provided with a lot of relief wearing these shoes while exercising!

Most comfortable shoes out of the box I’ve worn. Wide toe box. They sort of look like clown shoes but I don’t care. The comfort is worth every cent.

Perfect fit for my feet. If you are looking for a naturally wide shoe with a zero drop sole, then this is for you. I’ve struggled to find a shoe for my horrible supination problem. Altra saved my feet.

previous model was Torin 3.0 - like the upgrade and cannot beat the price. Like the knit top (versus plasticky style of older model) - like the less cushioned tongue as well. Went out for first walk/run - a little squeaky - but not a big deal for me - the comfort and feel far outweighs that - and will see if this lessens with wear.

Great fit. Really appreciate the foot-shaped sole. The cushioning is fantastic. It's like walking on one of those rubber mats you find in a restaurant kitchen - delightfully soft but with just the right amount of support so every step feels comfortable yet confident. Only one day of experience with these shoes so far, but if they continue to perform like they did today they'll be one of the two or three most comfortable pairs of shoes I've owned.

This is my third pair of Torins and the best-styled. Due to knee issues, I stopped running several years ago and the shoes are exclusively used for walking, 3-6 miles daily. They fit like a glove and are extremely comfortable. I'm a fairly thin guy, 5'10" and 160 pounds, who wears size 12, so the wide toe box has the clown shoe look that other reviews mention. This can be mitigated by buying a dark-colored shoe but it's also a great conversation starter. I'm sold on Altra and plan to keep buying them.

I am not a runner but I have suffered for several years with extreme neuropathy in my right foot. My podiatrist was unable to do anything to really help but I asked if there was any kind of closed shoe that I could wear that might help. He said that I should try the Altra brand. He was even wearing them himself. The moment I put them on, I was amazed. Even though my pain was not completely better, it took the pressure off of some of the most painful areas. My podiatrist sells these and other brands of shoes in his office but I wonder how many podiatrist and diabetic foot specialists even know about the brand. I think you should also be marketing to these groups. You don't have to be a runner to benefit from the thoughtful technology of zero drop and natural toe box. I have been wearing these shoes every waking hour since I bought them and have no blisters at all. This is another thing super important to diabetics because they have such a hard time healing foot wounds. Thank you, KK

I am a heavier guy for a runner. About 200 at 5'11. I have always wanted to run but was so darn heavy on my feet. I would hurt everywhere after about 2 miles. So I would just go back to lifting weights. Recently I decided I was going to go all in on running and actually get a nice pair of running shoes. I bought these. I ran 2 miles and felt like I could go at least 2 more. I was pain free and felt lighter on my feet. I can't wait to put more miles on these shoes!

Love these. I've had the 2.5's and 3's leading to these. Felt great out of the box love the new tongue and upper, great addition. Whole shoe feels great. I own several Altra trail runners, the hiking boots, brown boots for work, etc. Love Altra and always will. Can you do me one favor though? These are meant to be a neutral shoe but there is extra hardened rubber only under the big toe like every runner that wears these will be a overpronater. So the rest of the toe box rubber is this soft stuff that wears down super quick. The picture is after my first run. A simple little 3.5 mile run to try out the new shoes. As you can tell from the picture that soft stuff is already wearing away. It's the same with the 2.5s and the 3s. I can show picture on those too if anyone cared to see. All I'm asking is to just go ahead and have that same hardened rubber across the whole toe box so it doesn't wear down to nothing so quickly. Still love the shoes and always will but if you could help me out here I would appreciate it. Thank you.

When I got these shoes out of the box I was a little weirded out by how boxy these shoes looked compared to the Escalante. I bought these only to try the super cushioned options offered by Altra. This is my latest purchase of footwear from Altra, which include the Vanish-R, Solstice, and Superior. As well as the Escalante of course. Of all the models offered, this one had the least amount of break in time as compared to others. Usually it takes me about thirty to forty miles in Altra shoes before I feel like they are properly broken in. But with the Torin, I was running comfortably in these in no time. I would recommend these shoes to anyone who is looking for a shoe that can carry them through many miles and not suffer aches and pains from hitting the asphalt. As for anyone looking for a minimal shoe that is nimble and responsive, try something lighter like the Solstice. This is something I would categorize as an old man's shoe. I myself am in the masters runner category so I can honestly say that for us older runners, you would do well to give this shoe a try. They definitely help.

Fit and size are good. Very cushy and comfortable. I love the wide toe box. And I got the black with the white soles and they are very stylish. Would highly recommend them!

Shoes for great. This is the third pair I’ve purchased. I buy a pair a year because they get worn so much. I like that they’re all black for the most part.

I like the Torin but felt they were too stiff. When I heard Altra was revamping the Torin to be more like the Escalantes I wanted to try them. I was not disappointed. They are more flexible and comfortable!!! I took them for a 4 mile run right away and did a half marathon the next day with no issues!!!! Great shoe!

i ran a marathon in them a few days after i received them. They are really good. I ran a PR in my marathon, and was 15 minutes under BQ time! What i liked is that i don't recall actually thinking about the shoes the entire race. I suspect the zero-drop is better for me too. I had a hint of shin-splint prior to getting these shoes, but it seems to have gone now after the race. It would have got worse in my old shoes. While i can sense the zero drop difference, adjusting to it didn't bother me. I'm a trail runner normally, and in the past i would just wear my trail runners for road marathons. I'm very happy i switched to the Altra Torin 3.5 Knit for road. I might even try them on the trail.

I am a very loyal Altra supporter. I have had about 6 pairs of Torins so far. I love the new 3.5 Knit versions, especially the breathable knit design and the new shoelace eye design. Typically I put in lock-laces and these are much easier to put in. Great product.
