This is a beautiful boot, and the buckle detail is very nice. I like the fact that this is a relatively short bootie that will look good with jeans without having to tuck them inside. But I had to go down a whole size. I normally wear an 8 (even with other Born shoes), but in these the 7 was the best fit. Thankfully Zappos does free returns.

I love the color and fit of these boots. I have a similar pair in black, but the 7.5 was a little too large. I reordered in a 7. The leather is soft and the are very comfortable. These boots are casual, not dressy.

These look stylish and are very comfortable. I wore them all weekend right after getting them and my feet felt great.

I love this boot, so nice. After reading the reviews I decided to go down to a 7 1/2 instead of my normal size 8. Ladies, this boot really does run big in size!! As everyone else said, SIZE DOWN at least one size. I'm re-ordering in a size 7.

I am traditionally a size 7.5-8 in a boot so I ordered an 8...thinking I would wear this boot with a heavy sock. The size was a whole zip too big. I ordered a size 7 and the fit is perfect. The construction, style and fit is perfect. The quality is great.I love my new boots and will wear them daily. The exchange process was so easy...Thank you Zappo for your great service

Fit and comfort were a problem although these look fabulous on. My Born Trinculo booties are so awesome, thought I’d buy a different color in the closest style to them. Sadly, this style is narrower in width and the almond point made them feel smaller. I would have sizes up but comfort wasn’t there. I tested them out by walking around the house, in the thinnest socks I own, yet the hard sole made my feet hurt. Definitely need replacement insoles if you get these. The adjustable tongue was quite nice, making it easier to get them on/off and tighten them just enough so they would not slip off my heel nor dig into my ankle.

These are really nice boots - but too bulky to work for me. I’m 80 and really want a soft comfortable ankle boot for winter - but need something lighter weight and softer than these.

I am SO glad I did not size down as other reviewers have mentioned. I wear an 8.5 and an 8.5 is the right size. In an 8.5 I can wear a pair of thin trouser socks but definitely would be too tight if I wore regular socks. I'm not a fan of wearing barefoot and even Vans no show socks would be too thick inside of these. I have a number of pairs of Born shoes but something about these is a less comfortable than my others. They aren't tight, but they still manage to squeeze the outside of my foot like the arch is cut a bit narrow in certain positions, (like driving , not when standing). The toe box is roomy enough. The look in person really gave me a lot of pause as to whether or not to return them. In the end, the side view is cute if not the straight on view and I hate sending shoes back.

I have an average, regular width. I was always a size 8.5, but either my feet have gotten smaller or shoes have gotten larger, as I seem to need a size 8. I ordered an 8.5 and there's plenty of room in boot, even with a thick SmartWool sock. The boots are very comfortable though with no "break in" needed. I will likely add a padded insole instead of returning them for a smaller size. Overall, I like them very much.

Cute. I ordered a 1/2 size down and it fits perfect. My usual size was too long.

These feel just as comfortable as my other Born booties right out of the box. Lots of room for my wide foot and my orthotic. I like that the buckle is adjustable. They look stylish, but they are cut lower than I'm used to.

These boots are great. I mistakenly followed advice of other reviewers and ordered 1/2 size down. Returning for my 'true' size and hope they fit! Very comfortable foot bed.

Based on reviews I sized down at first. Too small!! I exchanged for my normal size and they fit perfectly. Leather quality is very nice. High top in front is a little bothersome but I think they’ll break in and be fine.

I loved and recommend these but had to return them because the insole was not removable and the arch support didn't quite match up with my foot. Really wanted them to work because they looked so good with my jeans and leggings.

Overall a comfy and cute boot but the front part rubbed the top of my foot.

This was a replacement for a pair of Born booties that I bought a couple of years ago that were starting to show wear. The boots were nearly identical but as soon as I opened the box I thought they looked small. I tried them on, compared them with my others, and they were much smaller, and this was not due to mine being stretched, worn, etc. The bottom of them were smaller. Just order up at least half a size. Really wish they had worked as they are nice leather and very cute.

While I am a huge Born boots fan, and absolutely loved the style and quality of these boots, they were just too narrow, especially when compared to the other Born black boots in the same size that I ultimately decided to keep.

The fit & size worked but the shoe hurt & hit my instep. I need to return them. I have a high instep to begin with but also the tongue of the shoe hit the front of my foot which hurt.

I normally love Born boots but I have a high arch and couldn’t get my foot into the boot. Otherwise it’s nice looking -

I wear a size 11 in boots and these fit well; I returned them because the insoles were hard and the quality of the shoes has gone down since the first time I ordered them (They were called Gemm, I believe). I could tell in just a few minutes of trying them on that my feet were going to hurt walking in these. The leather used to be softer allowing the foot to mold to the shoe, and now it's stiffer with less cushion. I wonder if others had the same experience. Sadly, I had to return them.
