The rubber sole started to separate from the midsole on the second day I wore them. The boot has continued to fall apart at a rate that is unacceptable. They are comfortable

These are comfortable right out of the box and get More comfortable the more you wear them. I baught these to be summer boots. I wear the Mt. Vernon's in the winter. Have been wearing keens for years and like the wide toe box.

This is the second pair of the San Jose boots I have had. The first pair were great, very comfortable and lasted a good while. The second pair I have only had for around 2 weeks and although they are very comfortable, the bottom sole is starting to peal off from the back. I like these boots and the way they fit so it is kind of aggravating for them to be falling apart so soon.

This is an outstanding piece of leather wear that is a perfect fit, true to size (10R), excellent double stitching, beautiful color scheme with gingerbread gum. Zero break-in period. Super comfy, superb sole. I am a dedicated Keen Footwear Fan, on all levels. These San Jose (Aluminum) Boots are my new Go To everyday work wear!

Ive had my pair for 2 years so definitely worn in. I like that theyre lightweight. I work as an exhibit technician at a museum so on my feet all day. A lot of people have complained about the laces coming apart at the toes but even with working in a fabrication shop that hasnt been a problem for me. I did have to replace the laces right away. I just grabbing a pair for boots at my local grocery store and theyve held up perfect for almost 2 years. Kind of feel like Keen could do a better job with the laces. The biggest issue for me though is at the one year mark, something in the sole construction started to separate in my right side boot. Now, when I walk, it sounds like theres a small duck following me. Most days it doesnt overly bother me because its noisy in the shop and Im distracted by work. However, when I wear them out for pizza and drinks, its pretty annoying. Sounds like soles separating on Keens shoes and boots is not a new issue. Ive been a long time customer but this might have me think twice about what to replace them with. Also, if youre on the fence with you foot width go wide. All of Keens safety toes dig into my pinky toes unless I go wide for sizing. And finally, do yourself a favor and replace the removable foot pad right away. I got a different brand for work boots from the grocery store and it provided way more cushioning and support. I dont expect as much from a more affordable boot but I guess I expected better than what it turned out to be.

I'm a diesel tech and wears these 8-10 hours a day and for 9 months now I feel qualified to write a review lol. They are fantastic even straight out of the box they fit very nicely. The nice fit only grew even greater as they molded to my feet and once that did happened I can't tell you how comfortable they become. I would recommend replacing the stock insoles and replace them with keen's k-20 insoles. I did that around the 3 month mark and it is unbelievable the improvement that made in an already very comfortable boot. The leather on the front part did wear away and the aluminum toe did start to show through but that is to be expected given how often I am crawling on my knees. No boot ever made would be able to withstand that. A simple solution was that I cut rubber toe guards and rubber cemented them into the front and it honestly looked as if it was made that way by keen and solved that problem. Honestly these people leaving bad reviews complaining how part of their boot is failing after 8 months need to get a reality check and get real. Of course your boots is going to start failing or showing wear after 8 months who do these people think they are?
Keen- PLEASE make these with a carbon fiber toe!!!! I have to walk through a metal detector everyday and having a carbon fiber toe would make these the absolute perfect boot ever, please keen

I wear these boots every day for work and they are great! They were comfortable right out of the box and required literally no break in. Usually boots are uncomfortable around the ankles for a while until they break in a little, but because of the unique design on the rear they just naturally flex. These are some of the most comfortable boots I've owned and I would definitely purchase them again.

The boots are beautiful. I was so excited to get them. I’ve worn keens for years, my size is 9.5. However, these felt at least a half size big. Maybe the fit changes with the aluminum toe? I’ll get the soft ones next and see how a 9 feels.

The front of the boot was a little rounder and bigger than I wanted. Just personal preference.

Shoe fits large, especially in the heel. The toe is disproportionately large compared to the ankle, ends up looking a little clownish. Decently comfortable and protects my toes. Just good enough I won't be returning it.

These were way too big. I checked with the website for sizing, and even off site pages to verify. The steel toe portion pushed into the top of my foot when i walked. They would have been unwearable for more than 10 minutes of walking.

11.5's felt like they were going to fall off, so I went to a retail store, and tried on some 11's, which cramped my toes. Very disappointed, as I am a loyal fan of Keen work boots, and I really liked the overall style.

I have owned many pairs of Keens over the years and always wear a 12 and it’s a perfect fit. These, however, feel like I’m wearing a burlap bag on my feet. These are loose in every way possible. Even if I went down a size I know they would still be extremely wide and uncomfortable. Very disappointed.

Worst pair of boots I've ever owned. I bought them after seeing them repeatedly recommended in Family Handyman magazine as being great and comfortable. These have been the most uncomfortable soles I've ever had in a workboot, even after trying various insoles. I've worn everything from Timberlands, Wolverines, Red Wings, Matterhorns, etc. and I've never been so disappointed in a boot. The laces broke after just a few wears and one of the rear pull loops ripped off too - unbelievable. Mine also had a break-in period; the leather at the top of the ankle was pretty stiff so i rolled down my sock to double it up in the early wears. A padded collar would've been a big improvement. I take care of my boots and wasn't overly rough with them, mainly them for some summer DIY Projects (rebuilding a paver patio, etc.) Bottom line: I'm not buying any more Keens and sticking with Timberlands (the have a similar option). Good style, terrible execution.

Bought these sight unseen due to coved, got them and was disappointed to see no padding at all on the high top of the boots, the lack of padding there and actually throughout the boot makes your feet slip and slide inside, would not recommend
