Nice jacket. Not too heavy. Just right. Overpriced for quality of jacket. Paying for name only.

The website said that they are built for cold weather but not Minnesota weather I guess. The jacket does not serve as a main cold protector. You will need something on top of it. Had to return it.

Warm, stretch and compact. Use as layer underneath H2O proof mountain shell.

While I like the design and fit of this jacket, there seems to be a problem with the quality. The feathers come out of the jacket at several places. I bought a different piece earlier and returned it as I thought it was defective. However, after receiving a new piece, it turns out that the quality issue is with the jacket itself.

I am grateful to Northface for offering discounts this past season, to those of us in Healthcare. It is much appreciated. I would not have spent full price on this jacket, because I'm a bit frugal. But at half price why not. Shortly after wearing it though, two stitches broke on the jacket. Seems awfully frail, for a jacket that typically is priced close to $200. I doubt I will buy another Northface jacket again, as it doesn't have the quality I expected.

Nice jacket, quite a slim fit but very warm, you don't feel the wind at all.
Only downside is that the feathers are coming out of the seams already.

Although I like the design and the fit, feathers keep coming out at several places. I have used several other TNF down jackets before, but never faced this issue.

It states 700 fil but it doesn't have enough of it, few ounces shy of being a good jacket. Northern climates, don't wear below 40 degree f unless you have merino wool baselayer. Jacket is made for early spring/fall, not for colder temps.

Ordered my son a M when he usually wears a small. The M was way too small. Out of L so gotta find something else. Size up 2 sizes.

The material feels rough, almost sandy/gritty, but it's very sturdy. The design and cut is boxy; I had a seamstress correct the issue but still common TNF!
When I wash it, it comes out great but I only wash in cool water with down-safe fabric detergents. To dry, I lay flat (not hang), then fluff with air cycle dryer with tennis balls. I've washed mine 17 times and it's still like new.

I love this jacket with how warm it keeps me, but like a review below stated, the down comes out of it LIKE CRAZY. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with this, but for the price I paid for the jacket, there is no way the quality reflects that. In addition, the jacket also builds up water marks/stains really easily and is really noticeable, almost making it look like I wipe my nose on my sleeve with some of the streaks. I constantly have to clean it off - but the bigger issue I have is with how quickly the down starts falling out of the jacket. All I do is wear it at my desk job. I've also found that the stitching on it has come undone fairly easily, I actually had to return the first one I got because so much of the stitching started coming undone. Definitely going to rethink spending this much $$ on TNF jackets in the future.

This thing sheds like crazy, feathers are constantly coming out of it since day 1 of use. This makes it super itchy, the material itself is not very comfortable which also makes it itchy. It is not the normal material that most down jackets are made of, it has a strange rough texture to it.

The picture on your website and even this key image are wrong. The North Face loge is not blacked out, it's actually white on front and back. Guess you needed to make sure everyone sees your brand? Well, it's false advertising. And what used to be nice about North Face is it wasn't in your face. Guess that changed.

I had high expectations for this jacket but unfortunately the down comes out everywhere across the jacket after a very short period of time. I'm surprised this would happen for what I believed to be a quality jacket at such a high price.

I like the jacket but when a piece of down material poked through the thin fabric and I gently pulled it out, it forced a hole in the material and I now have a small hole allowing even more feathers to come out. Very disappointing. This is the second North Face jacket purchased new in the last three months that has failed. The other jacket has a bad zipper. The repair takes so long I have to give up jacket for rest of cold season. So mad at North Face, I will never buy another NF product.
