I went on an extensive hunt for the perfect Chelsea boot. Seriously, I tried them all (Sorel, Blundstone, Kodiak, Frye, Dr. Scholl's, Clark's, Teva, cheap Target versions). These Timberland boots were the winners! I now have both the black and olive colors (Olive is actually a taupey-gray-beige-brown. Beautiful neutral color with burnishing on the toe). Why are these the best? They have a little bit of a heel, so your feet don't look enormous (unlike a few I tied, e.g., Teva, Kodiak), however, they're still super comfy. I wore them all day out of the box without issues. The ankle opening is wide enough to get your foot in (unlike the 2 Blundstone styles I tried! Yikes). The height is perfect for ankle length pants, not too tall or too low. The goring looks like a classic Chelsea (unlike the Sorels, where the goring looks a little odd). The price is also fairly reasonable (unlike the Fryes). They work with pretty much any outfit I throw at them; I even wear the black boots with tights and dresses/skirts at work. I'm so glad I found them, and I hope this review helps you decide if they're worth a try!

I was debating between this and the frye brooke short. They have same heel height and looks a lil bit similar except that the frye brooke is zippered and is a bit more slick looking. I decided to get this instead coz it looks somewhat rugged while still chic & dressy, plus it's my first timb. Glad I chose this coz it's beautiful and very comfortable. I am a 6.5 medium, but ALL my boots are 7 medium to give room for thicker socks. So while everyone complain about their boots being tight (whatever the brand is), I never had problem with sizing coz I always get half a size up. So I recommend sizing at least half size up to be sure. The leather is beautiful and light weight. The footbed is soft and comfy. The opening is a lil bit bigger than I prefer but it gives more room for thicker jeans in case I want to tuck it in the boots (which is an issue with my other ankle boots). I wouldn't say this is my favorite boots as I have some gorgeous frye boots as well, but this definitely belong to my top boots. Will be considering timberland again in my future purchases.

In love with this boot- very cute and comfortable. I have an extremely narrow foot and these fit me very well, so be aware they might be more narrow than a normal shoe. Can't wait to wear these with jeans and dresses! Heel height is high enough to add something to the shoe, but not high enough to be uncomfortable.

Was hoping these would be fabulous but they are just so so. You’re going to need a slippery sock and a chair to get them on. The elastic gives but the interior is rough. A cotton sock will not slide in. The heel is a great height but not enough to make the foot look pretty. Color is true to image.

What a great boot! I've been looking for a Chelsea boot, and this is the best. I wanted brown leather ankle boots that were feminine/casual and looked great with skirts. I always size up half a size, in order to add a cushioned liner or wear thicker socks. I will say it is very padded and cushioned on its own, and I can slip these on/off easily with socks. I usually wear 8M in shoes, and 8.5M in boots, and my feet are closer to wide/medium than narrow/medium, and my ankles are average, yet I have no trouble with these boots at all around the ankle. I love the brown color and the genuine leather upper. It feels sturdy but has give; it is not too stiff. The heel is the perfect height. I have other ankle boots that are a smidge taller and I can't wear those all day; I believe these will be perfect to throw on all the time.

I searched high and low for a good looking, functional bootie with a good sole. Most booties have hard, plastic soles that click when you walk and slip easily. The heels are always too tall, too thick, or too skinny, but these are perfect. These booties are super cute AND super comfortable. I got the light suede color as I'm not a fan of the leather versions and can't wear them when the weather isn't good or they will get dirty. Would love it if there were some dark color options in the suede with the brown sole... dark gray, dark blue, black etc.

Unfortunately these boots didn’t live up to my high expectations for timberland. I wore them maybe five times and the rubber sole started to separate from the boot. Really disappointed. I know I can have it fixed but these boots didn’t even last a season with moderate walking.

I absolutely loved these boots! Unfortunately it started to lightly rain on me when I was walking to my bus stop and once they got wet the seem connecting the toe to the rest of the boot stared to unravel. I am really disappointed as I've only had them for 2 months.

I normally wear a size 9 but I like to have room for socks in my boots so I sized up to 9.5 and they are perfect! I wore them all day today and at 6 months pregnant my feet would normally hurt during the day but they did not at all. I'm tempted to order them in black as well!

I have never liked to wear heeled shoes but I like the look of heeled boots. I had been looking forever for a pair of boots that were flat or low-heeled and still looked feminine and cute with skinny jeans. These are so perfect. I feel totally comfortable in them and they go with everything. Very casual cool for this girl who doesn’t like heels... yet they are still feminine. I have the brown color and it’s the perfect worn in look that isn’t too fancy and isn’t too casual. Love them.

I'm updating my review. I wasn't happy with the condition of the boots I received, and I had mentioned that in my review below, despite really liking the boots themselves. Zappos has incredible customer service and reached out to me directly to resolve my issue! I wish I could modify my review below but I wasn't sure how so I'm leaving this one :)

This is a lovely, feminine Chelsea style boot. The warm brown color goes well with the style. The elastic ends in a V, rather than the usual U shape, and is the same color. The heel height is right in the middle-low range, and suits the look. It also helps make this extremely comfortable for walking. It feels only the tiniest bit narrow than average, but I think that can be resolved with breaking it in with thick socks.

I bought the brown Chelsea boot last fall and love it. I wear it almost daily in the fall/winter. Perfect professional boot for work and perfect casual boot for fun. I love the shoe so much, I am ordering a black pair today! Lastly, I live in Michigan, where the winter weather can be a DRAG. These shoes made it through a Michigan winter AND they are still in good shape.

I love these boots! I bought them in the medium beige color, and have found that they go well with both dressy and casual looks. The heel is the perfect height to add a bit of elegance without causing discomfort. I wear a size 11 in almost all shoes and I’ve found that these fit just fine with thin and medium weight socks. They’re a bit on the snug side (but not too tight that they’re impossible to wear) with super thick socks (like Smartwool ones), but since the material isn’t water/salt resistant I doubt I’ll be wearing them in the dead of winter anyway. On days when I’ve walked 5+ miles around the city, I’ve found that these boots come second in comfort only to a pair of sneakers. I’ve had no problems with blisters, and the heel really is minimal. While the price tag is a little high, I think the long term wearability of these versatile boots makes them a worthwhile purchase.

I love these boots! I have a VERY high arch and normally have difficulty getting my foot into boots that don't zip. These boots have plenty of stretch so my foot slid right in and felt comfortable once in the boot! They are so good looking, heal height is just right!

Ok. I've had these boots for a couple months now, and they have slowly been destroying my feet. I don't know what about them hurts the big toe joints so much. Maybe it is the height or angle of the heel. It is very strange. I wore these quite a bit around the house before committing to them, and the foot bed is nice and soft. I didn't find the heel height to be a problem. But now, when I put them on, my big toe joints begin to complain right away. I can wear them to work for a whole day, but if I go on any extended walks, I'm limping by the end. It's such a shame because these are extremely high quality and lovely looking boots.

The color is so beautiful and I love the rich leather tone. The fit was incredible. They’re snug but comfortable. However, the particular pair of boots I received were clearly worn before. When I pulled the boots out of the box, only one boot had the ball of paper in the toe, the other boot was empty. There were already scuff marks on the beautiful leather. I’m very disappointed that I spent $150 on boots that came in this condition. These should have been marked as “open box” and discounted as clearance. I’m trying to decide if I’ll just live with the scuffs or send them back and try again.

I excitedly bought these to use as an everyday shoe - both for work and for walking around. On the surface, they look very sturdy while still being trendy. However, within two weeks of wearing them, the black wood on the heel started to chip off to reveal the white plastic underneath. I contacted customer service and they were not very helpful in terms of replacing them even though the shoe was visibly falling apart with very limited wear. Although the shoes looked pretty terrible, I continued to wear them. After two months had passed, the toe section on both feet started to unravel and the right shoe completely ripped in two. I am incredibly disappointed as I wanted to love these shoes, but the quality is terrible given the price. I ended up throwing them out, which I am very sad about.

These are holding up well after two years of moderate/heavy use. I wore them for 10 hours straight/14k+ steps for a week in London with no sore feet. The heels are starting to wear down a bit but other than that they're in immaculate condition. I will absolutely buy another pair when these give out.

SO DANG COMFORTABLE! I purchased them for my business casual office and so glad I did. I am on my feet for hours at a time and never once have I gone home with achy feet and I am so happy about that! I originally ordered a size 9 because I read somewhere that timberland's fit more like a tennis shoe. I did not find that to be true so I ordered a half size up and they fit perfect. I do believe these will become part of my everyday wardrobe very soon!
