This shoe is described as barefoot and it indeed feels like that on your foot. I haven't worn it long enough as yet to evaluate that. The sole has very good grip on smooth floors.

My only objection to this WONDERFUL vapor glove, is that the black dye WILL come off on your feet when you wear them without socks. Just be ready for it, and I wouldn't necessarily use them for a sweat session.

This shoe fits just like a glove! I would like a little more arch support, but it was what I expected from the online description.

Cute shoe! I got this in the Charcoal, which is an awesome color that would go with everything (jeans, leggings, shorts, even casual skirts & dresses), intending to take them on an Alaska tour & cruise in summer--I'm usually between an 8.5 (which I order for most Merrells) and an 8 (which is perfect for the Encore Q2 Ice), and based on the reviews I got the 8--overall it's pretty comfy, and the insole feels great, I think plenty of support. I love the soft leather and the grippy vibram sole to give me secure footing for hiking and walking the deck on the ship. Only problem is the area for my big toe is too short (squishing down on the nail), and with the rubber wrapping up and over that area from the sole, I don't know if it will stretch to a comfy fit over time so I'm still mulling over whether I should keep them or exchange for an 8.5, but I suspect that would be too big. Would break my heart to give them up though!

I've been looking for winter shoes that gave me the same barefoot feel as the Vapor Glove 2. These come close, lots of flexibility, cool color (pomegranate) and they keep my feet warm.

A leather version of the Glove. It's what you'd expect. Don't wear light-colored socks with the black shoes because the shoe dye bleeds/runs.

These shoes look good and the leather definitely adds a layer of protection against cold and wet, but it also makes the shoes stiffer, harder to get on and less comfortable. I'm hoping they will get more comfortable as they age.

These are beautiful shoes and they fit like a glove when I tried them on. I was excited to go on my first walk with them and they were super comfortable and I enjoyed feeling the ground beneath my feet. Alas, when I got home my feet were completely black. I am not sure whether this is a qualify control problem with my particular shoe, it seems to also have happened with the previous reviewer and suede shoes tend to bleed (as an internet search revealed). But this was extreme. Maybe it will subside with time or I will try some of the spray tricks mentioned online (hair spray, waterproofing, Vaseline..). But I still feel disappointed, that the shoe somehow should have been tested that the dye set completely, or treated to avoid this type of excessive transfer of color from shoe to foot/ sock.

I love Merrell shoes! I have worn them for years and currently own five pairs of them. Very comfortable, excellent fit. I wanted a second pair of barefoot shoes. They are all size 7. So are my other shoes. So you might imagine my surprise when this pair was too short and narrow in the toe box. I'm returning them, hoping a 7 1/2 will fit.

i always wear a size 7 but not with this one. have had vapors before and wore them out but had to return this one... color was great though wish it did fit

This is my first run at a minimalist shoe. Am I supposed to wear socks? Are they washable? My feet are pretty wide, and medium is as wide as these come. I am trying to decide if it's ok to keep them - I expand them enough that the laces are too short to tie, but the fit is comfortable. They feel a little hot... wondering if the "breathable" mesh lining will breathe sufficiently for me. Love the non-skid sole and the insole support.
