A couple of months ago, I tried ordering a pair of black and a pair of brown Encores. At the time, they were called Encore Gusto. The brown Gusto was out of stock so I only ordered the black. The black arrived and were of the quality and fit that I have experienced in the past. I still wanted a pair of brown Gustos; so when they were available, I ordered a pair. I noticed that they were no longer called Encore Gusto but rather Encore Rexton Slide. When I received them, I tried them on. The fit is sloppy. I am returning the shoes.

I'd been a loyal Encore Gust wearer for years. Probably 8-10 pairs. Loved the shoe! This incarnation is a poor substitute. The synthetic rim collapsed at the heal almost immediately. Consequently, my foot slips out easily. The leather rim of the Gusts lasted for the life of the shoe, and provided a more stable feel. They also run run big compared to the Gusts. I ended up a 1/2 size down based on an agents advise. They fit OK, but are just not as comfortable as the Gusts. I'm a school teacher, so I'm on my feet all day. The Rextons are not going to work for me in this setting. Why the change???
