I've purchased this kind of merrell shoe before and I was very pleased with it. Unfortunately, the new purchase didn't have the sturdy arch support as my previous shoe. I'm on my feet a large amount of time for work and I was hoping for the same arch comfort as before. But I am OK with the purchase

I have been wearing slides like these for years. First, with the Primo moc, then Encore Gust. I have owned al least 10 pairs. I work in the medical industry and wear them all day at work.
I am not a big fan of the neoprene back lip on the shoe. Does not have the support that the leather lip had. I find myself almost walking out of the shoe occasionally.
I do like the support and spongy insole and I do find them comfortable. I just wish there was more support in the back of the shoe.

I just got these in the mail. Indeed they run big, compared to other merrell shoes, and also compared to previous models of the same shoe. I have the last model encore and this shoe is notably bigger - to the point that I have to return them. They also don't seem to be the same quality but that is hard to judge without wearing them a while.

Bought this to replace Encore Groove and other slip-on shoes by Merrell. But unlike all other previous shoes, in this shoe the cuff at top is no longer leather. Its now fiber/cloth. Although fiber is a disappointment in itself, my main issue is that it is not very firm. It gets pushed in when you slip your foot in. I can see this as the week point which will limit its life. I also don't find the shoe as secure when walking fast paced or using stairs primarily due to this cuff.

Keep your receipt if you buy Merrells. The bottom sole will peel off the bottom of some models.

I have worn a pair of Merrell Encore Breeze clogs for 7-8 years. Marvelous shoes, but the soles are now thin, have lost their grip and are too slippery on the hardwood floors and steps of our house to wear. I have tried all three of the various Merrell clog replacement shoes now offered by Merrell. All were a cheapened version of what I have, and were very disappointing. The elastic side vents cause the shoe to slide off the heel. The mid sole material is not nearly as soft. Overall, a big disappointment. Thank you, Zappos, for letting me try them, one by one. Not your fault that they haven't worked. You didn't make them, only sold them. I'll keep trying to find other slip on shoes to wear as indoor shoes. So long, Merrell.

I have worn Encore Gusts for many years, buying a new one or two pairs every year. The new version just doesn't fit like the old. My heel slips off as back seems shorter now than before. The older version was very versatile, as a house slipper, visit to the grocery- not so much anymore. Very sad

This is the 4th pair of these shoes I have ordered for my self, I love the shoe for work. They have changed with this pair. The foot entry is now a soft suede not the smooth leather as in the past. The fit is not the same either, my last 3 pair fit well to the foot and no slop of the foot as you walked, these feel like you have to hold them on with your toes curled. The upside the insole feels like its been upgraded! I will have to polish my old ones, they are a better fit.

I am a retail pharmacist that works 10-13 hour shifts on my feet. For the last 10 years I have owned 8-10 pairs of earlier iterations of this shoe (Encore Gust etc....). Always had size 10.5 and it fit perfectly with heel always snuggly cradled and held inside the shoe. Unfortunately, this newest model does not come even close to it. The neoprene lip is way too loose, and the back end around heel feels too shallow so the heel flip-flops as you take steps. For the first time ever it does not feel any different than any other slip on shoe out there. Merrell please make changes quickly, and go back to the old model. I will have to wait out and return this one unit the issue is fixed.

I really like this shoe, but why can't Merrell get the size right on the Encore Rexton Slide? (see other reviews, I'm not the only person reporting this problem). I ordered size 11 1/2, the same size Encore Rexton Slide I'd worn for years, and the same size as all my other shoes. It was too large. I exchanged it for an 11, but it's still too big. So now it's back to FedEx again to send this second pair back. I just ordered the 10 1/2 size, which is a full size smaller than what I expected based on the same exact shoe I'd previously worn. Very frustrating.

I have worn a World Outlook since 2005 and assumed this would be similar in fit and comfort. However, the shoe is lightweight and at least one size too big even after trying two pairs. I was disappointed in the quality, as well.

I agree with the Doc from Bend Oregon. Had over 10 pairs of these over the years. Shoe is now way wide at the back. Does not hold its shape. Need to curl your toes to keep the on your foot. Shoe fits like a EEE rather than a D width. Must have changed the last in 2019. Still have a several year old slide vent that fits perfectly. Please bring back the shoe with the leather surround- maybe that will help hold its shape? All changes are not improvements.

I've had 14 pair of merrell clogs and these by far are the worst I've ever had!! the shoe quality is terrible, the material is a lot cheaper, they lowered the back end height and my heal comes out when I walk & my foot moved, I will never buy these again until they go back to the way they used to make them, very disappointed, feel so cheap

I am on my feet all day. I have owned over 15 pairs of Merrell Encore Slides, because they have great arch support and my feet don't hurt at the end of the day. I bought your new version, wore them one day and thought I was going to die with how much my feet hurt. The support is not there, the leather is thinner and the heel and sole of the shoe is not the same. I am now having to go to all websites I can find to buy up the old version before they are all gone. You will lose a lot of customers, because of the changes you have made. I have read your reply comments and contacting you to resolve the problems is not going to fix the fact that you are trying to save money by putting out a cheaper made shoe. Do yourself a favor and change the shoe back. You have lost my business and I am sure I am not alone.

I have worn Encore Gust for several years and absolutely loved them. The Rexton appears to be the replacement model for the Gust, which is no longer available. They look similar, but are looser with a larger toe box and lower heel. With the same size, the Rexton fit felt "sloppy" and felt like I was going to walk out of them with each step. Very disappointing for a loyal customer to Merrell and Zappos.

I have been wearing this type of merril product for 20 years. I an very disappointed with the new up grade to the micro fiber collar! The backs used to hold up for the life of the shoe. Now that it is no longer leather, with in months it becomes so flimsy that when you put the shoe on, the back of the heel crushes down to the insole. You are constantly reaching down to pull it up. Merril has finally ruined a what used to be the best shoe I have ever worn

Unhappy customer,
Buyer beware, I've been buying Merrill shoes for 5 to 10 years and I ordered 2 pair of encore Rexton slide leather size 7.5 and a size 7 and both pair fit very sloppy and when I would walk the size seven came off my feet, Not like my other pairs I bought in the past and fit quite snugly on my feet and they were Encore Gust Slip-On Shoe, these encore Rexton have a very lousy fit.
And I will be returning both pair 7.5 and 7, And give it one star.

Having worn merrill's prior product happily for years, this new style is a great disappointment, terribly fit, like wearing flip flops without the comfort. This is a terrible, ill-fitting shoe in the same supposed size as the many Merrill shoes of this type I have had in past. Don't but it!

I have been buying the Encore Gust about once every year and a half since 2003 (or whatever the same version of that shoe was called at any particular time). Best designed slip-on ever. Elegant design. Perfect support. Exactly what I needed (obviously, since I've been wearing them nearly 2 decades). I only replaced them because I'd wear them day in and day out at work, and they'd wear out.
The Encore Gust is no longer available, so I bought this instead. Its design is much wider than the Gust, and it has a microfiber lining at the rim instead of leather, which is prone to collecting lint and dirt. Its increased width makes the fit entirely different and offers far less support. I'm so very sad Merrell decided to change this and am searching around to hoard whatever remaining inventory places have of the Encore Gust.

As others have mentioned, these were way too lose around the ankle and would not stay on my feet when I took one step in them. I own an old pair of similar shoes from Merrel that I was hoping to replace. It took me 5 seconds to realize these were NOT the replacement.

I have worn Merrell's probably 350 days a year for the last 5-6 years, and the newer shoes are getting cheap. The Merrell Men's Encore Slide Pro Grip Nubuck Slip-Resistant Work Shoe was one of the best shoes made, and they have been discontinued. Merrell Men's Encore Slide Pro Grip Slip-Resistant Work Shoe purchase in 2016 has finally worn through the sole, but it is also discontinued.. Looking for a new shoe company.

Once again Merrell has managed to screw up a perfectly good design.
The new version has an arch that is way too high and, consequently, the shoe does not grip the foot properly. The wearers heel can now rise up thereby causing the shoe to feel loose and to rub the heel. Also, the forefoot is now narrower than before and the shoe pinches the foot.
The old design was perfect, Why oh why did Merrell have mess with what was perfect. IF IT AINT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!
