Love the quality of the jacket and the warmth. Perfect for days above 35 degrees and works well as a mid layer under a thin outer liner.

I wish they would bring back this awesome jacket. Great for under layer and as a daily wear.

Warm, comfortable, and relatively water resistant!

I can use this jacket year round . I wear it on cool summer nights alone. As an Avalanche Professional in winter this cozy underlayer works against the -23c so I can stay warm while shredding the Deep Kootenay Pow. Love it, and the Outdoor Research lifetime warranty is unbeatable.

Heavily used during backcountry backpacking trip.

I got this coat as a light alternative to my large down parka. Now I only use this. It's warm enough to wear as an outer layer in 10 degrees F with 30mph winds. It layers well for skiing, and doesn't restrict me when climbing. I highly recommend getting an outdoor research soft shell to go along with this. They fit very nicely together.

This jacket has quickly become my go to piece. I find I'm wearing it more than my OR refuge, MH Stretch down, arc atom, or my NF nano. Its warm, light, good fitting, doesn't move or ride up when climbing, packs down small, just all round great jacket. The outer material seems thin and fragile but my dog constantly jumps up and i took it to J-tree climbing and haven't had a tear yet. One little bonus feature I like is the front pockets have a internal fleece liner that adds the extra comfort and warmth, most jackets dont have this and the pockets feel cold. My only complaint is that the extra length of draw cords to cinch the hood opening are inside the jacket and difficult to access without opening the jacket right up.

Just got the illuminate down hoody for a trip to Chamonix, I love it! Great as a layer under my shell while skiing and as a light coat at night while in the town. I like the soft fabrics inside of the pockets, also the stow-pocket has a double-sided zipper which makes packing the jacket away very nice. I am 6'3" 205 lbs and the XL fits very well.

I love this jacket. Perfect weight and fit. The off white color was a little see through and I could see the down but was not a deal breaker. The draw string pulled out of one side the first time I wore it and I reached out to customer service who were slow to respond so I re-sewed the cord in myself and have had no further issues.

Great jacket. Well made, comfortable, looks good, and warm. Pair it with a sweater underneath and I'm good even sub freezing. The sleeves are tight but stretchy enough I can check my watch or put on gloves no problem. The one small issue is the hanging hook. My OR rain jacket has a nice Paracord hanger but the illuminate down hoodie has just a little bit of nylon that doesn't seem as robust as the rest of the jacket. But that's a tiny complaint, over all I'm stoked on my purchase

Excellent down. This has kept me quite warm in the sleepy cold of my territory. Not too bulky, and not too thin. Overall highly functional.

Awesome jacket. However, their colours on the website are always a little bit darker than the actual products when you get them. I've returned 3 out of the last 5 orders because of this (at some point it's my own fault). I ordered the forest/seaweed jacket and it the lighter green was more of a baby vomit green. Other than that, great jacket.

Awesome jacket. I've have the transcendent hoodie and really like that for walking around town. This works very well for that same goal, but less bulky and will fit great under a shell for cold days on the slopes.

I wear this everyday around town and layering when it gets cold. After reading some of the other reviews I was afraid of the effect wind would have on me but no worries there. It cuts the wind very well when worn by itself.
