My husband loved the style and look but unfortunately they were not comfortable. He bought a half size larger (normally a 10 but went with a 10.5), as was recommended, but where the toe creases when he walked the hard shell jammed into his foot. He really wanted to like them! But alas he said they were really painful. Ended up getting the north face Chilkat and he loves them in the snow and cold.

The Michelin soles seem great, and I think they look good. But some of the insulation was showing in the boot tongues where it should have been stitched over. Also, I saw some reviews say these weren't waterproof, so I tested mine right away. Only a couple minutes in 6 inches of water in the kitchen sink. Leaked in the same place that other reviews had mentioned, right where the tongue meets the rubber sole. Waterproofness is extremely important in a winter boot, moreso than regular hiking boots.
I returned and got the more basic Bugaboot III, which passed my sink test.

I bought these about a month ago. Used them to shovel snow, good, Warm, feet stayed dry. Went hiking in the woods and hopped across a 3 inch deep creek allowing one foot to splash into the water which came no where near the top of my boot and it immediately filled the entire boot lining full of water once it absorbed into the tough. Still thought i was ok and the inner waterproof lining would keep my foot dry. It did not. After ten more minutes of walking my sock was soaked. Thought maybe because i jumped into the shallow that it went over the boot, even though my pants didn't show any evidence of such things. So i tested them. I took these out onto the ice for ice fishing when there was 3 inches of standing water on top of the 18 inches of ice. Both boots immediately allowed water to flow through the tongue and into the boot liner. Causing the boots to weigh about 3 lbs each. Within ten minutes both of my socks were soaking wet up to my calf. Thank god i had my muck boots to save my poor little toes from frostbite. These boots suck i wish i could i get a refund. Total waste of money.

I have had 2 pair of these and over time they don't hold up.
Both pairs split in the same area shown.
Returning anything with proof of a receipt after several years is impossible.

I've had great luck with Columbia clothing and boots. I was really excited when I saw that Columbia was using Michelin's Winter Compound on the boot tread. For years I've used Michelin's snow tires with their ice gripping abilities. After using the boots on different ice conditions I am greatly disappointed. They are horrible on ice. Not what I was expecting or hoped for. I don't know if my boots are defective or if it's a different material than used in Michelin's tires. I feel the ice traction abilities in the product description are misleading. The fit and function of the rest of the boot are great.

I purchased these 2yrs ago and had no need to wear them until the January 31, 2021 snowfall. I went in to rest after an hour of shoveling and that is when I noticed the boot split were the bottom rubber meets the light brown rubber. Only worn ONE TIME!!!
Will never purchase another Columbia product.

Had these boots for less than one month and they are falling apart. It's too bad because overall the boots were comfortable. Very dissappointed with this purchase, especially given the price. These boots should have lasted longer than 30 days. Saddened that money was wasted.

Purchased the boots at Christmas 2018, boots break in was easy and comfortable. In early March '19, about two weeks after return period expires, the boots developed a crack/hole along the outer shell on the instep/ball of the left boot. They claim to be waterproof but the poor construction of the outer sole (cracked and feel apart creating a 1 inch hole) doesn't hold up to normal wear in rainy, cold weather during winter months in Georgia. I'm usually a fan of Columbia products, but not a fan of cold wet feet or the construction of these boots.
