Replaced an old pair of Columbia's that had started to fall apart. These boots are well built. They are keeping my feet warm and dry with thin socks, while standing in the snow waiting for the dog, or strapped to snowshoes trekking the woods. One BIG complaint...breaking these in has been painful. The bend in the "shell", at the lowest lace area, while walking, leaves bruises on the top of the foot. Thick wool socks, etc, doesn't matter. I'll keep the boots for the other benefits, and eventually the boot will give in, I hope.

Very warm boots, lots of traction. They are a little stiff and will need some breaking in

Purchased for snow/rainy season. Decent for snow shoveling and snow blowing around the property and workplace. Warm when paired with thick socks. These do feel a bit to big. Not enough to where I feel the need to exchange for a smaller size though (thick socks help).

I got the Columbia Bugaboot Plus IV Omni-Heat in a wide width and wore it in New Mexico mountains in slushy (daytime) and icy (nighttime) conditions on trails and in town. It was consistently warm and sure-footed. I had to return the regular width as too narrow with typical winter socks. I am female but usually buy men's outdoor footwear because the larger women's sizes are not consistent, so I was surprised that the regular width men's boot ran narrow for me.

Very warm and comfortable boots BUT CHOOSE YOUR SIZE WISELY. They are winter boots and about as bulky as you'd expect normal winter boots to be. They kept my feet warm and dry only wearing dress socks, during hours of bitter cold (-20s) outdoor use. Didn't fully test the waterproof claim (didn't go sloshing around in streams or anything), but my feet never got wet - other than a bit of sweat - working in snow, ice, sleet, mush, etc. The high-grip Michelin sole is a fantastic addition to this classic boot and they are super grippy, even on wet ice. WARNING: DO NOT follow the size chart for these boots. I followed the instructions meticulously - measured the length of my foot, ordered the corresponding size, and they were way too small - pinched badly on the toes and overall way too tight - wearing just dress socks. Order a half size to a full size larger than the size chart recommends, or better yet find a store that sells them and try some on first then come back to Columbia.com and buy the right size - just don't follow Columbia's size guide - it needs a lot of adjusting. Overall, after using these boots for a couple of months through the worst winter we've seen in 40 years, I'd highly recommend them.

I recently bought these to replace a pair of North face boots that managed to spring a leak somewhere. These boots are super warm in every area but the toes. We were out snowmobiling for 3 hours in 20 degree weather in Maine and by the end if the trip my toes weren't completely frozen but I could definitely feel it, and toe warmers would've helped. I was wearing a pair of heavy socks at the time. This is my only reasoning for 4 stars, not 5. I wore these in the last ice storm that we had and I didn't slip once, the tire tread on the bottom really helps. Recommended for snow/ice/rain, just no long term use in colder weather without some sort of toe warmers. Boots are true to size, they are the same size as my Rocky work boots.

I ordered a half size up for my growing son. This will give him enough room for now and hopefully fit him again next year (although at the rate he's growing I doubt it). He loves them! Arrived quickly as usual and very well made. We've purchased this brand before and we'll do it again.

Great looking and extremely well made boot. Awesome rubber sole. Runs small... if you wear a size 10.5 shoe order 11.5 boot. The toe box is what runs small and is made of rubber so will not grow or give with repeated wear. Getting ready to wear the 2nd pair 11.5 in Tahoe, will write another review after return from trip and report on warmth factor.

This is a very well made, good looking, functional winter boot. Great traction from rubber sole, good insulation and high quality materials. Although my regular shoe size (9) seemed like the right fit, I deducted one star since they run a bit narrow and caused slight soreness on the side of my foot and shin. Others didn't have this problem so I wouldn't hesitate to try them since they are a great boot.

I've had these boots for about 2 years very lightweight, very comfortable perfect snow boot with a pair of gators not a warm boot if you're standing around and it's colder than 10 degrees and not waterproof in standing water and the rings on top to hook your gators to ripped out right away.

Keeping these boots but they are not as good as the previous pair. The redesign is a decrease in fit and quality. Don’t really care if the sole says Michelin or not, just want a good fit & good quality boot.

They're good boots but nothing spectacular. I took them on a trip to Alaska and they kept my feet dry, but not overly warm. The temperature was around 0 to -15 F which is well within the rating. Also the laces are too short and come undone constantly letting snow inside. But like I said, they're okay.

The boots look great and feel great if you are just standing. These boots are not made for walking. Very true to size with some extra wiggle room. However, there are some lumps in the back of the heel that are uncomfortable and I'm not willing to take the risk if I hiked with them. Also, when walking, the toe box bends and pinches my toes. Otherwise, the soles are perfect and fit is spot on but I'm returing due to the two problems.

I've had Columbia Bugaboots for the past 4 Midwest Winters and have loved them! I upgraded to the Bugaboots with Omni-heat last season and was disappointed. Not in the quality department, but in the comfort department. The boots are much bulkier and don't flex much, even after an entire season of use (snow from November to March is quite normal here on the east side of Lake Michigan). They are extremely warm, my feet never got cold. And they never leaked. But, they did rub the backs of my legs raw, even with thick, tall socks on AND my jeans tucked into my boots. I couldn't return them, so I'm stuck with an expensive pair of boots I'll never wear.

Sending back to try another pair. But for people buying to walk on ice. Save your money and buy studded shoes or buy a pair of the slip on studs. Still slipped with these. They are very comfortable and a great hiking boot until I went into water. This pair is not waterproof as advertised. My feet were soaked crossing a little creek that wasn't more than ankle deep. Hopefully next pair will be better....

These boots did not last one winter in Northern Maine! Comfortable, warm, awesome traction, light weight - all true. The simple fact the lining started to fall apart and shell began cracking 3 months in makes them completely useless. This was my first time/last time with Columbia Winter boots. Back to Keens.

Significant leakage in the toebox. Okay for casual use (shoveling your sidewalk, walking to the store) but won't hold up to hours of recreational/occupational use. Might be okay on a very cold day, when snow is too dry to melt into your boots. Comfort is pretty good. Stiff, but that's okay, these aren't intended to feel like your trailrunners. Comparable to mountaineering boots in that respect. I took them on an all-day hike and my feet felt fine at the end.

The sides of the tongue of the boot started to unstitch and white fuzz came out of the stitching. Very disappointing for it being one of the most expensive boots on your brand.

This boot seems to be very well made. High quality and sturdy. Sizing seems to run slightly large. I normally wear a size 8, and I found the 8 to be a little roomy. With a heavy sock I think the fit would be fine. Unfortunately I returned the boots due to how bulky and heavy they are. Put these on and walk up the stairs in your home and you will notice the weight. Now imagine adding the weight of snow and possibly snow shoes. They are also really bulky. I'm not sure why they need to be so big and bulky. I felt like I was joining the Shackleton expedition, hello 1910. These are like the snow boots your dad had when you were a kid (circa 1983). I returned these and bought a pair of boots from a competitor for less money with the same features, and about 30% less bulk. If you want to kick in locked doors, get crossfit glutes, or don't plan on actually walking around much, I'm sure these would be great boot.
