The heel pocket seems a little loose, (they may break in a little and fit better); I have not worn them a lot... yet: otherwise I like these a lot, will be good for there intended purpose. Traction on slick surfaces seems excellent, warm and dry.

After having back surgery earlier this year I wanted a boot that would help prevent slips and falls during the difficult winter conditions in the Chicago area. Great boot and fit.

Have been using these to walk the dogs daily for about a week. They are supportive and comfortable. Nice and warm down to the upper teens. I have not tried them in weather below that yet. Have not tried them in snow yet either.

I bought these to just wear around casually in winter since I seem to have perpetually cold feet. They work fabulous. At 400 grams of insulation they keep my feet warm and are extremely soft and cushy. I believe if you wanted to hike or walk, it would have to be extremely cold as they may be too warm. One note is that they are short, which I wanted. I highly recommend them.

Received my pair right on time for a blizzard in the Midwest (6 inches of snow, 50 MPH wind) Walk husky dog about two miles and these boots were perfect! Kept my feet warm and dry. I'm size 11 on any shoe, I got same size on these and to be honest, it fits perfectly, unfortunately, cannot wear with ticker wool socks, but regular socks are fine, as boots insulation and warm materials will keep you warm. Did I mention that are also good looking boots?

WaterProof and very comfy, can't complain about these awesome boots, just need snow and ice to test the traction out.

Very well made boot, but the arch is very high and was in the wrong place for my feet. The non-slip anti ice sole was definitely not effective for walking on icy roads in Manitoba and did not work better than regular boots, contrary to description.

Nice comfortable boot, great ,well made, it seems to fit about 1/2 size small, the Vibram sole still does slip on ice.

Very Comfortable and Warm. Thin black laces on black boots very difficult to tie up. Changed to thicker yellow laces and that problem was solved. I did fall when I first moved onto a road which turned out to have a thin layer of snow on a very sleek layer of ice. I saw 2 ladys also fall on the same walk. Although I did slide a couple of times, I maintained balance and did not fall again. Nor have I fallen or slid on several walks since then.

Bought a pair for winter 2019/20 for general use however I noticed just recently (Fall 2020) that they had developed crack and split in the toe rubber which compromised the water proofing. Unfortunately too much time had past in to even consider a warranty replacement. Disappointed boots didn't last a year but that being said boots were still good. Very light, comfortable, stylish, warm and have excellent grip in icy conditions. Even with the problem I had with my fist pair, I have just bought second pair for this winter. Would've given them a 5 star rating had I not had the problem with the first pair and I do hope I get more than a winter out of my new ones.

I talked to the Merrell customer service reps and told them I needed boots that were REALLY warm, comfortable like all my MOABs, and preferably with an 8" upper.I sacrificed the 8" upper for more warmth. I bought these boots with two purposes in mind, cold weather hiking in the snow, and fat biking in the snow. After having done both a few times I have the following review; these boots keep the cold out. Going for a ride in 25F temps for a couple of hours and my feet were not cold at all. My only issue hiking in the snow was that snow could get under my gaiters. Here's my one main issue, and it's kinda specific to me and my narrow feet. The heel pocket is wide. I wear MOABs because of the narrow heel and this is wide, In addition the lacing pattern doesn't allow the heel to be cinched up like the MOABs so I am thinking of having an extra set of eyelets put in to help with that. In hindsight I'm wondering if I should have purchased the Thermo Adventrue 6" Ice+ Waterproof Comp Toe Workboot.

I purchased these boots specifically for the Arctic Grip. You still have to be careful on ice but it is much better that regular soles. I was wondering how the Arctic Grip soles work on smooth tile as we have a lot of people slip on it at my work when the weather is bad and it gets wet. It works very well. Now I don't have to put ice cleats on and off to go outside at work when it is icy out.

The boots are warm, about as comfortable as can be expected, (I would rather be barefoot), and they do seem to be resistant to easily slipping on wet ice. I was disappointed that there was no info included with the boots, about the arctic grip, other then that it is incorporated into the soles. I even looked at the sole manufacturers website (Vibram) and the only thing I learned was that after about 250 mile of use, the gripping effect may wear off. Info such as possibly being detrimental to different floor surfaces / materials might be helpful. It seems that you have to search through other users reviews to find any useful information

I bought a pair of these in the women's style for myself and discovered they run small. Loved them so much I ordered a pair of the men's for my husband and discovered the men's also run small. They are great boots - very comfortable and warm - but I definitely recommend sizing up, especially if you're planning to wear them with thick socks. Sure do keep your feet warm!

Boots were very wide looking. Also felt like I could roll my ankle in them easily (didn't feel very supportive). A bit snug with thick socks on. Love Merrell products but these didn't do it for me.

I wanted a warm boot with a light and comfortable fit. I also like the arctic soles. Definitely not made for anything else besides grass, snow, ice. They would start to wear quickly otherwise. I'm not a huge fan of the lace system. Only one set of steel hooks. Otherwise 5 stars.

In spite of ordering a half size larger than I normally wear the boots were very snug and the right boot was uncomfortable so I returned them. I have gad 2 pairs of Merrel boots before and they were fine and were very comfortable and durable.

They don't help keep you from slipping on ice at all. None of the winter ones come in wide width. Why??

I purchased this product back in December. I have owned quite a few Merrells over the years. They usually last about a year before they are worn out. I'm disappointed in this shoes life span. The right upper is coming away from the sole and is falling apart. The Left is still in great shape. This product needs the base foot bed to be comfortable. And they were comfortable and waterproof with it. The soles that have the blue ice grips, i guess they work. Did not really test them. I did where them in snow and ice often.
