Very warm and amazing grip. I have owned 10+ Solomon shoes and these do not disappoint. The only issue which demotes the 5 star is the fact they come untied due the slightly short tongue which others have mentioned. Otherwise... Another great Solomon product!!

This was the first time I have considered Salomon walking boots and having read many positive reviews, I thought I would try the X Ultra Winter WP2. I noted in quite a few reviews that they were on the small side, so since I am normally a UK 10.5 I ordered a 10.5 and an 11.0 Unfortately both were too small so I returned them and ordered an 11.5. Strangely these were even tighter than the 11.0. So I can't rate these boots other than to say a) the quality looks very good and b) they really are very narrow and on the small size. I would suggest people need to order one or two sizes larger than they normally do and anyone with feet UK size 10.5 or above will not be able to wear this particular boot.

I buy Solomon's to do my job outside. This boot is good, but the waterproof doesn't last long. However, I've never owned a waterproof shoe/boot that can handle what I do for a living. Overall comfortable, a little smaller fit but not bad, durable and the gator ring makes it easier to gear up. I buy Solomon for my job and will never change. Their shoes over all are the most comfortable, durable and easiest to break in for what I do.

Overall, this is a great boot. Warm, high enough for all around winter activities. Very flexible. I love the boot. However, the laces loops at the bottom of the boot (the rectangular ones) are eating through laces. I didn't complete one winter with the provided laces. There is no smooth shape. Only a sharp edge on which the laces are constantly moving against. I am at my third laces set in a year and a half of usage

These boots are good and would be better if they were wider. I'm not sure why Salomon likes to keep their boots/shoes so narrow.. like we don't want Nikes to hike.. we need a wide toe box!

I've had these boots for four and a half months. They have been used daily for cross country walks of over five miles in sunshine, rain, muddy conditions and snow. They have never leaked and they are grippy and warm but there are a few flaws. One major flaw concerns the design of the toe box. I don't know why, but it is too low to the toe, putting pressure on the big toe. I have found a way to overcome this by doing something counter intuitive, tightening the laces more than I have with any other boot. This seems to lift the toe box and results in a more comfortable experience. The second flaw is that the sole lacks stiffness for rocky trails and could do with more cushioning. Finally, the opening for the foot is a little too small because of the design of the waterproof gusset (stitched in a little too tight or not using enough material?). If these little design flaws are ironed out I would happily buy another pair.

These seem like great boots, but they have one flaw that ended up being a dealbreaker for me. The upper of the boot connects to the sole at an unusually shallow angle at the outer side (i.e., left side on the left boot, right side on the right boot). This causes the upper to press down on the smaller toes. An unfortunate design, especially for a winter boot where one would like to ensure the toes are getting adequate circulation in order to keep them warm. Frustratingly, even sizing up doesn't seem to help. I went all the way up to US 11.5 from my usual 10, and these still didn't have enough toe box room. I ended up returning these, but I haven't really found anything else to buy instead. I'm hoping maybe Salomon will tweak the fit on these for next year, as they seem pretty nice otherwise (and I haven't had this problem with any of their other shoes).

Fit like a dream, except for the narrow toe box. I wanted to keep these so bad, but would have been bad for my feet. I have the "matching" hiking boots and trail running shoes, which I love.

I'm not sure if mine are a one-off, or if it is a design problem, but they should be rounded. Other than that, they fit great, the tread is durable but grippy, and they are warm. If you have a good source of replacement laces (long ones - 72" at least), you'll be fine.

The boots are comfortable and warm but are not waterproof. The insole is constantly wet even after walking in normal damp weather. This makes them unusable in winter. Very disappointed
