Salomon typically makes a good shoe and this is no exception. I do, however, have a few areas of criticism for this particular style.
1) toe box is tight. Not much room for toes to breath or move around.
2) The shoe does not breath well. I work in office environment and sit most of the day. My feet are fairly damp by the end of the work day and I can't wait to take these off when I get out of the office.
3) The visual styling of these is a little different/weird. The soles almost look orthopedic. The featureless upper just looks a little dull (with the exception of the gray heel area).
4) The footbed is fairly flat and stiff. Not very comfortable, even after a week or so of break-in time.
5) Lastly, it's overpriced. The shoe does have Gortex, which is expensive, but otherwise the shoe just feels cheaply made and not durable.
Overall, I would not recommend this shoe to others. I'll continue to be a Salomon fan, but not of this particular shoe.

Overall, I sadly can't recommend this shoe. They of course have the usuall flat flimsy foam inserts that most shoes have, easily fixed with a high quality insole, which also dramatically increases the comfort level. My real beef? I've only owned my pair for 5 weeks and the soles are nearly worn out from daily walks of roughly 5 miles on average on concrete. That means soles that should last a reasonable 500 miles, are nearly worn flat after 150 or so miles. Lest you think it is me, I have shoes I have literally worn for over a thousand miles not as badly worn as these. The sole material is nicely grippy, and a great design to not collect mud and dirt, but just not durable.

I was super excited to get these shoes in. When they came in they were a great fit, they were comfortable and they looked really nice. After wearing them for a few weeks of normal wear the top of the shoe started to fray at the seams. I kept wearing them because they really are a comfortable shoe. The waterproofing stopped working immediately once the top half ripped up. This all happened over a few months with normal wear and tear. Do not buy these shoes! Save yourself the hassle.

Have had these shoes for a while now. Should have written this review earlier but they are the most narrow shoe I've ever worn. I don't have wide feet and these suffocate my toes. I see they have a wide version - but I'm sure their version of wide is the normal width of a regular shoe. The waterproofing of the goretex is great - good looking shoe too - but no way I'm recommending these to anyone. Awful.

I bought these in the beginning of May as daily wearers, with 90% of my time indoors, and the soles are almost flat. Had the same results with other Salomons so these are my last pair.

I purchased these and wore them for about 30 days and did not put on more than 90 miles. My walking was predominantly on hard surfaces. The shoe itself is very comfortable but the wear was horrendous. very disappointed that i spent the money for 30 days of walking before the soles are worn out.
