Feels better now that they are broken in. Tight at first.

Great shoe. Definitely narrow and the laces are not great, but overall happy with them. Wish I could pick 3.5 stars, honestly.

Wide is the width of a normal pair of shoes from other manufacturers. Agree with other review that Salomon shoes in general run very narrow, which can become very uncomfortable when you are active and your feet swell. They are a great active shoe but too narrow in my opinion. Got these in wide and they are very comfortable though.

Comfortable and durable. Only gripe is that it's a little narrow by the toes. I should've gotten the wide.

I bought these two months ago and have put about 1000 km of pavement and gravel walking on them. They were comfortable right out of the box. Fit is a little snug compared to the Outblast winter boot, but still fits as per size. Toe box is a bit roomier than on some Salomon shoes which suits me fine. Only issue is I think there's only another 500 km left the soles before they will be dead smooth. I would love to see a version of this shoe more durable sole compound for my style of use.

A little narrower in the forefoot than I expected, but I think will break in fine. I have hallux-MTP arthritis, so I want a very stiff footbed in front, and these are good in that regard. I also like the close-fitting heel counter.

Little tight so I sent it back. Not much toe protection compared to traditional hiking shoes but more comfortable in the sole

First time buying Salomon shoes. Said wide but did not seem like EE width. Had to return them.

I've gone through a lot of hiking boots and shoes, this one was definitely the best I've had, but definitely has room for improvement. The bottom of the shoe has good cleats for gripping mud and dirt, but any form of slick rock or wood, it will settle into the gap spaces and you will slip out very frequently. Also after about 150 to 200 mi, the waterproofing on the Gore-Tex seems to have gone away. Other than that, very comfortable shoe, very light, makes moving quickly on the trail very easy.

Nice shoe. Molded well to my smaller narrow feet. Deserve arch support during in-home test. Missing quick laces that are present within the brand at the same price point

Bequemer multifunktionaler Schuh.
Ziehe ihn zu kleinen Wanderungen, Mountainbiken oder einfach im Alltag an. Sieht auch zur Jeans gut aus.

So far so good - haven't had these too long yet but they've been comfortable for most of the day. They may be slightly narrower than I'm use to coming from Merrells. The soles offer good grip and the gortex has great resistance against water. These shoes are stylish to do errands around town then get on the the trail on the way home.

I purchased these shoes to have a waterproof option for outdoor walking during the winter. I have another pair of Salomon hiking boots that I love, so I was hoping the last on these would fit well. I was not disappointed. The shoes fit true to size and perhaps a hair narrower than some brands. I wore them on a trip to Chicago that included a lot of walking on pavement, and they were comfortable right out of the box. I wore the shoes with and without a pack, and they were just as comfortable with a small load (~30-35 pounds). They shed water well so far. I would definitely purchase them again.

I don’t know what Salomon has done with their shoes. The right shoe is very narrow in the mid foot area. I have a non GTX pair of these in green and they are perfect. Maybe just an inconsistency in the manufacture process, but I just couldn’t wear these for more than a few minutes without pain from the shoe being too narrow.

Great, comfortable hiker but the fabric frays at the crease/flex point on the sides of the toe box, and just after four months of use. I understand the rubberized coating not covering the area to allow the flex as you walk, but I also feel that a good round of testing would've revealed the issue. The Solomon contagrip outsole has held up well.
Overall, a comfortable hiker but the issue of the fabric fraying would keep me from buying it, again. I hope a solution can be found, because I really like the shoe.

I bought the Outline Goretex hiking shoes to use for short distance hiking (< 5 mi), work around the yard, and for winter commuting to work. The Outlines were a replacement for another shoe which lasted had 5-6 years. My work is in a North East office and I wanted a waterproof winter shoe that did not scream "hiking boot" when paired with dress pants on my way to work.
I was excited to find the Outlines as I thought they met all my goals. They look great and are very comfortable. However, after a short period of use, it became apparent these shoes were not going to last. The sole material wears out quickly and the cloth covering the toes is prone to fraying on both shoes, just as a result of the wrinkle that forms when your foot flexes.
Overall, these shoes are not a good value. They are more akin to a sneaker that you would replace yearly than a hiking shoe.
