Hope this helps everyone with selecting the proper size... i am 6' 1", 178 lb., 39 in chest, 32" waist. I ordered the Medium/Regular and i like the slim fit. it is tapered and fits similar to slim fit 31" jeans from APC or AG. i am not super skinny and i do NOT have a flat belly...
The belt for me is on the second to last loop and i can make it one level tighter if needed. most of the reviews recommend sizing up, i disagree... if you are comfortable with slim fit jeans, order your normal size. if you like straight leg or baggy jeans, size up. the medium compares to Fjallraven size 31/32. for the inseam, regular is perfect for me. the tall would looked messy on me. i wear these with black high tops and the length is perfect.

I've had ~10 pairs of Arcteryx pants over the years, and medium is always a perfect fit for me. However, this model seems to be about 1.5 inches smaller in the waist. I'll return this pair and try a large.

These are great fall/winter pants. I wouldnt suggest for summer as they are a bit thicker material.
For people who have a smaller frame these are great because they arent baggy in the but , which makes them more versatile. You could wear them into town and not look outta place.
That slimmer fit in the hips and waist means if your in the middle of a size or larger, go up a size. In fact unless your at the bottom measurement of a size, go up a size. Then it be comfortable.
The pant is constructed well and has useful features.

A bit trim for an Arc'teryx medium. I found the Medium still fit me like the Gamma LT and Gamma rock but snugger on the waist,
These pants are perfect for cool weather climbing and being in the mountains. Durable on the knees and seat like the Gamma rock but with a bit thicker fabric elsewhere for cooler weather.
I love that they added a thigh pocket!
Can't speak to the long term use yet but they're been awesome for climbing and some cold weather backpacking.
If you're in the lower end of the size chart, size up. I went with the Tall for extra ankle coverage, I could easily have got the Large and and some room to tighten the belt. So if you're on the cusp according to the size chart, go bigger..

Let me start off by saying these are an amazing pant, they are very comfortable and it's nice to find a pant that also has a cinch for the leg opening. The different fabrics on this pant keep it hard wearing but in the lighter areas it's a nice softer fabric.
My gripe comes with the quality control on this pant. The first time I wore them, I took them out on a hike. No where near the abuse I would've put them through climbing. Once I finished the hike, I noticed that the seam stitching at the crotch started to unravel.
I expect such expensive pants to be built better. I've owned them for less than a week, worn them once and I already have to send them back to be repaired under warranty - 6-8 week turn around time too. sigh....

Excellent pants with great fit and look. I like this fit much better than the fit on Gamma LT which has a regular fit. I perceive these Sigmas to be a bit more "true to size" and the Gamma LTs to be a bit large in size due to their regular fit. I use Large in Sigma FL but my Gamma LT in Large are way to big. Perhaps Sigma FL in Large is the same as Gamma LT in Medium? They are rather different even though size chart says they should be the same apart from the style of fit.

I bought these for hiking/climbing. They are comfortable and stretch so they allow for great mobility. Withstood a couple slips on rocks. Love the belt feature, lightweight and still effective!

The pants works really good in all kind of conditions. It feels thin and therefore easy to get a hole in, but i have not gotten any notable wear after using it regularly for 2 years. The elastic band in the waist seems to stretch but the overall fit is perfect.

I bought my first pair of the Sigma FL pants two years ago now and they quickly became my favorite pants. I regularly use them for rock climbing, ski touring, and hiking. I've taken them out ice climbing a few times and mountaineering and they are a lot more durable than expected if you accidentally snag them with a crampon (newer ice climber here.. I'm a bit clumsy). I recently purchased two more pairs to have some darker colors to be work friendly and they are PERFECT for all uses. I wish they sold some brighter colors again, but I'll definitely be buying more in the future.

These are my new favourite pants and I've ordered a second pair in fear they could be changed in the future. Durable enough to not get even a mark knee baring limestone or even grovelling up granite off widths. On slimmer fitted pants I usually have issues with seams blowing out but these are still going strong.
The fit is perfect and the material is stretchy and comfortable. Great for alpine scrambles or cool coastal hikes also.

Awesome pants, so sweet. Absolutely have dragged these over some sharp rock, I have no shame and will throw a knee up so these take abuse. Still look great, I don't know how other people are putting holes in these pants. I have holes in all my other pants except these, and the fit (at least for me) is perfect. Some Arc pants kind of suck but these are awesome, they just aren't that great for when its like over 80 degrees out in my experience.

The Sigma FL is great. I like the trim fit, and it works great for climbing/scrambling/approach. My legs are not skinny, and it fits just fine, but maybe on the tighter side for some people. It feels like the waist area is a little long, but makes the freedom of movement good when climbing and wearing a harness.

Thanks to the review here for the size runs a bit small, i normally wear 32" pants. So I order a LS, and it is perfect fits.
The material is great and comfortable. Trim fits and the length is great. And I hope it is durable.

My favorite pants are the Gamma AR.
These fit more slim, but I think are better for biking because of the lack of redundant material folds in the ankles.

I purchased my first pair of these pants three years ago to use as a lightweight pant for ice and alpine climbing. To my pleasure, these pants have also been excellent for multi-pitch rock, sport, drytooling, trad climbing, and cragging of all types.
The benefits: highly durable, lightweight and water repellent Sigma material makes these the best softshell pant I have found. They are trim fitting which keeps them from getting in the way during movement, and have a handy and simple drawstring cuff for rock climbing. Also, these pants are sold in multiple length and width sizes, so you can really dial in your fit. I wish Arc'teryx would do this for more clothing options.
The negatives: The only thing holding these pants back from being the only pants I wear outdoors is that they are a bit warm for summer days, especially in black. I appreciate this slight bit of warmth during the winter.
If you are looking for a versatile and durable soft shell pant, this is it. Even though they are a bit more expensive than other brands, I have used and abused mine for three years and they are still going strong. There is another pair waiting in my closet for when my current ones finally fall apart.

I bought these two months ago and I absolutely recommend them to anyone who needs a very durable, flexible, yet form-fitting pant with important features. The grommets and the elastic pant cuffs make it easy to keep your ankles covered. The pants are form-fitting so you don't snag on everything and can move around without restrictions, yet they're forgiving enough to layer-up underneath with you're favorite baselayer. I wear these primarily for hunting, which involves cold mornings, bush-wacking through dead fall, and sitting on the damp ground of the woods. They keep me dry, warm, and protected from the elements, and they are incredibly durable. I am 5'8, 180lbs, with a 32" waist and inseam. Medium fit perfectly.

Bought these from the outlet, and they feel light but durable. Took them out for a bushwhack in the White Mountain National Forest and they held up to the abrasion and wear. Quite a slim fit, if you have an athletic build (thicker thighs) I'd recommend a different cut.

Bin 191cm, 75kg, schlank - Gre MT

So far I have used these pants for climbing, hiking and even casual wear to work. They are the perfect mix of durable and comfortable. Even though they are a trim fit, they do not restrict my range of motion at all when climbing.

I live in Squamish BC; temperature at sea level average out around -5c to 5c in winter. Not terribly windy in winter but rain almost everyday. Spring and fall average around 0c to 10c and very windy. The realm into which I operate is between sea level and about 1200 feet (360 meters.)
I mostly utilize Arc'teryx products for: Hiking, Mountain Biking, light Mountaineering, daily walks around my house and daily wear.
I purchased the Sigma FL first and foremost because of its function, it's a soft shell that is abrasion, water and wind resistant. These pants fulfill their intended function 100%.
Suggestions on above and below similar performing product would be (from my experience): ABOVE: Beta AR pants, fully water and wind proof, higher resistance to abrasion. BELOW: Gamma LT: Water and wind resistant and less resistant to abrasion than the Sigma FL.
I seen a lot of comment about the fit of the Sigma FL. myself I found they fit as advertised. The size is true to the fit(how it is tailored.)
How do they fit and feel? they feel great for what they are. This pant is a soft shell not slacks and they feel like a soft shell: Very comfortable, articulated in the right areas, doesn't feel clammy while not wearing merino base layer and repel water, wind and mud really nicely.
You don't have to wash this pant too often. From experience I can wear them at least 5 or 6 times before I need to wash them. usually I simply let the mud dry and use a very soft bristle brush to remove the accumulation. once they start absorbing water I give them a spin in the dryer without washing them. this reactivate the DWR for a couple more use. After a while you have no choice to wash them because the fine dust will make it impossible for the DWR to repel water. I haven't re-treated my Sigma FL yet. This wear and maintain my pants system has worked for me given the kind of mud, dust and water I deal with in my corner of the world.
I love the way these pants look. that is subjective of course but I can't help to feel good while I am wearing these pants and I know other people see it as well because they look them up even if they don't say.
Price, or value of these pants: Well again this is subjective. I work in construction and I wear Carhart because they tend to last longer. Carhart is more expensive than regular duck but it last a lot longer. I discovered Arc'teryx this fall 2019 and I bought the whole system for me and my girlfriend because I can tell how tough they are made and how long it's going to last me. My personal opinion is Arc'teryx product are not expensive nor cheap, they are priced according to their intended use and value. Personally I won't go any other way now that I have the full Arc'teryx system. It really can't be compared with other companies because you would be comparing apples and oranges. You may compare classes in between companies but it is hard to compare a particular product. You decide what it is worth to you yourself is my best advise.
The only thing I would like to see a revision on these pants are the ankle tension system. Not terribly easy to use or efficient.
