Echoing ClimberEMC's review -- was disappointed with the sizing on these. I wear an XL in other Arc pants (e.g. Proton Pant) so I ordered the same in these. Turns out they fit snugly as they seem to run small. Wish I could somehow exchange them for a better fitting pair. Another gripe/word of warning -- the button that fastens the pants is extremely flimsy and pops off frequently.

Arc'teryx has some of the best gear out there and the weirdest sizings, all of the jacket type pieces fit me amazingly, can't say the same for pants. I got these because most people review them as very slim and almost like thights. And they are great fit down the thighs, around the knee and half way down the shin. It is a truly tapered leg (which is actually hard to find), but at the bottom they are too wide and the fabric is bunching. Also they become quite wide at the upper part, wish they had a normal belt system without the loops to slim them down, the front area has quite some loose fabric, as well as the rear. Quite a contrast to the rest of the pant. They come too high up the waist if I want them fitting correctly (with my 83 cm inseam the regular length seemed fine). The area where the leggings go apart (between the leggings) has some weird bunched and totally unnecessary loose fabric.
Other than the fitting issue, they look and feel amazing, nice material, just the right thickness I was looking for. And the sleek look will make lots of uses for these pants, if I decide to keep them. If there was a smaller size available, they would probably be perfect.
For reference I am size S, slim build, 5' 8 1/2" with a 32" inseam, 32" hip and 28-29" waist.

I got these as a replacement for a different product under warranty, so I didn't pay full price. But thinking about it if I had, in this comment.
They are probably more suited to ice climbing than pure rock. I know I never would have bought this for rock climbing as I suspected the stretch fabric on the knees would get a hole in it way to easily. Took them out on the Tasman peninsular and what do you know the knee got a small blow out as I was going for a delicate far left foot on the dolorite.
All rock pants get holes in them in two places. The knees and the seat from to much chin wagging at the crag. I understand why you have put the stretchy fabric over a moving joint. But you should put the stretchy fabric around the knee and them protect that vulnerable location with your Wee Burly fabric over the knee itself. Also some body mapping with articulation in the hip as well as the knee but also in the hip might work better but I honestly don't know.
Anyway if you want rock pants this are good but NOT worth the price with this odd choice of material placement. Maybe look at some Rab Torque
Also Arc'teryx can you bring back some outrageous colours and get them to AU. There is a plague of blacks and blues sweeping the country.

I haven't used these trousers yet, but I want everyone to be aware that the Infrared colour is *FAR* from red, a long way off it's much closer to a mud brown. Find them in person before you buy! Don't make my mistake....

Let me start off by saying these are an amazing pant, they are very comfortable and it's nice to find a pant that also has a cinch for the leg opening. The different fabrics on this pant keep it hard wearing but in the lighter areas it's a nice softer fabric.
My gripe comes with the quality control on this pant. The first time I wore them, I took them out on a hike. No where near the abuse I would've put them through climbing. Once I finished the hike, I noticed that the seam stitching at the crotch started to unravel.
I expect such expensive pants to be built better. I've owned them for less than a week, worn them once and I already have to send them back to be repaired under warranty - 6-8 week turn around time too. sigh....

I wear this pants just one time on a very light Sunday out and the seams seal come off and the actual seam started to rip apart I personally bought them from central London store.
