I have owned this jacket for about a year. Overall I am pleased with it except the waist tightening band has warped. I can honestly say I have never even used the band, so that is disappointing. I also noticed some of fabric starting to come apart in a certain area. I contacted customer support and I initially was only offered a small patch for the fabric. Nobody addressed the waist band problem I was encountering. I understand they are busy for the holidays, but it has been over 2 months and I still haven't heard back. I was hoping after spending serious $$ on this jacket the customer service would be better.

I returned this new version. Too tight. I have the old pre 2017 and it is perfect.

This was my first - and last - Arcteryx purchase. The Atom the comfiest jacket I have ever owned and it fits/looks awesome. HOWEVER, it does not function the way you would expect for the price. It is fairly warm but does not dump heat - so you can't move in this jacket without overheating. The fabric rips too easily. The zipper doesn't stay locked at the top - meaning that a) the hood wont stay up b) the jacket becomes unzipped and I become cold. This jackets seems like it was designed for folks in the city not people who work/play in the outdoors.

I have 2 other Atom LT jackets from previous years, and have consistently worn a size Large. Purchased a new one with the updates and am not pleased with the fit. Either my size Large was mis-labeled, or the new version has significantly shorter sleeves and a much narrower mid section (I run ultras, I have no boobs, yet this barely zips and fits more like a mans version). I'm 6' tall, and the fit of the sleeves/shoulders/length of the Arcteryx gear has why I keep coming back...but if the clothes continue to shorten/shrink- It might be time to switch brands.

Initially I loved this jacket. After a year I have quality issues. First, the fabric pilled from the car seat belt. I do not drive often enough for such pilling. Second, the zipper does not stay up. This is very frustrating as during exercise like hiking or jogging I have to constantly, zip the jacket. Third issue is the side pockets are not deep so that multiple times items have fallen out.

I was looking forward to getting a replacement Atom LT but this redesign has lost all the things I loved about my old jacket - I'm so disappointed. Where's the lovely trim fit gone? The new design is shapeless! And the new collar makes no sense to me. It's way too tall and has to be bent to fit under the chin, which looks silly and is uncomfortable. Please please bring back the old Atom design, which was so perfect.

This use to be my favorite style jacket EVER and I just received a new one for 2020. The fit is completely different! BYE BYE flattering fit. The small fits huge! I'm swimming it. It's boxy too, and longer, like I'm wearing my husbands Jacket....completely different. I'm so bummed. Debating returning. The least you could do it tell people to size down now. I'm 5'4 107 swimming in the small. The older seasons in small fit great!

I have owned two pieces of Atom LT hoody in old version. Nice one, adjustable hood was missing, but durability in chin area was great. At the moment I have latest version, otherwise great piece of kit, thanks to adjustable hood, but durability in chin area failed. In less than 1 year ready for replacement. BR Rok

Absolutely loved using this piece for the 11 months I've had itused it occasionally for the latter end of spring 2019, and then for the winter for skiing at the end of the year. Super comfortable and it was great anywhere down to 0 degrees C with just a t-shirt underneath. However, I've been noticing some pilling and de-threading in the chin guard, presumably because of the stubble on my chin. At this rate I can't imagine the jacket lasting more than next year. Pretty disappointed considering the long lifespan and durability that Arc'teryx swears by for their gear. I was more so put off when a store employee told me to just shave off the pilling and threads. The ripstop reacts badly to thisnot all at the fault of this fabric, as that is what is meant to do. I just feel like this doesn't address the problem, rather than just being a band-aid solution. I hesitate to wear this piece with worries of potentially damaging it further, which is a shame considering how well it served me. I understand that wear comes with use, however, I feel that 1-2 years of moderate use is too short of an expected lifespan.

I loved this jacket and wondered how I'd lived without it. Actually I am living without it now and I'm freezing all the time. However, after just over a year the outer material piled on the back and arm pit making the jacket unusable. For a jacket at this price I was expecting years of use. While it was in good condition it was lightweight, comfortable, and freakishly warm for something so light. A great jacket but not a great buy if you need something for a few years.

Very nice jacket, my favourite, I use it a lot. However the woman version (M size) i bought for my mother has senseless measures. The body fits a little bit small and the sleeves are very very long but also very tight. Embarrassing just looking at it without wearing it. I will return the jacket but I will not buy the larger size. I'm very sorry because it's my favorite jacket.

I love everything about this jacket but the zipper. The jacket comfortable & a great weight. The problem is that the zipper has loosened after a few months of regular use and won't stay closed. They say that this is a feature of the "no-locking" zipper, but it didn't do this when new. It now will unzip just with arm movement when I'm walking. And don't even think of carrying a bag across your body if you want it to stay zipped. The top 8 inches of the zipper are designed to hold more tightly, so I now have to zip it up to the top if I want it to stay closed, but that's less comfortable. Or I can just plan to wear it open. I'm disappointed that I can no longer use this as my everyday jacket because of these issues.

Used this jacket for one winter of casual wear and limited wear for climbing. After less than a week of use the following season, the fabric underneath the zipper got caught into the zipper and could not be removed. After days of trying to get it out, the cheap, plastic zipper teeth broke along with the zipper pull tab. I can't believe such a cheaply made, fragile jacket came from Arcteryx. I'll be lookin to other, more durable brands in the future.

I've owned several arcteryx jackets (gamma, beta, kappa, fleeced) and they've been among my favourite. The arcteryx fit is usually great for me as I am a tall and thin. 6' 150lbs I usually where a size small and these are trim around my torso and have good arm length (long enough /sleeves) Had heard nothing but good reviews on this jacket. The small size has a baggy torso and the arms were so short I couldn't bend my elbows. I opted for the medium but it is very baggy and still has short arms for me. I couldn't imagine climbing in this jacket. I'd understand the baggy torso if it was meant to be worn over top of another jacket but it's short sleeves and narrow cuffs wouldn't work well as a shell. I'm sure it would fit a short & stout person really well.

I initially really liked this jacket, even though it was a little too short (size small) for my torso (5' 5", 120 lbs). It was easy to use underneath a shell and provided some light warmth for a cool fall day. When used with additional layers, I could also use it underneath my ski shell for New England skiing/hiking. My gripes with the jacket are that it stains really easily, rips easily, and is sized oddly. With regard to stains, I got some food on the jacket and washed it less than a day later, but the stain remained on the jacket. With regard to rips, the arm got a sizeable rip in the fabric (likely from a tree branch) and Arc'teryx will not repair or refund it under warranty. With regard to size, the jacket is too short and any vest or other garment worn underneath will show through the bottom by an extra couple of inches. However, if you go up a size, the jacket becomes too large to wear. Given the quality of the jacket and the lack of adequate warranty coverage, I'm not sure that I would buy this jacket again. However, I did have good experiences with the jacket before the fabric fell through.

It is 50 degrees and this jacket does not provide adequate warmth. I am warmer with a cashmere sweater and my Marmot prcis jacket. And it's not just me. My husband tried it on and he, too, said he was not warm with this jacket. This is one of my worst purchases. I would not buy this again. I would not recommend it. I am not sure what the rest of the customers received, but the jacket I have I is not as warm as a sweater. I am great,y disappointed, and very cold.

Good fit, nice and warm. Takes way to long to dry. Used it as a mid layer on an overnight winter hiking trip. It took way to long for it to dry out and was useless on the second day. This is the first garment / piece of equipment from Arc'Teryx that has let me down.

Save you money--don't buy this hoody. Within the first 6 months the zipper snagged on the material and when I pulled it--it was damaged. The material is paper thin--and even brushing against branches rips it. Very poor design and comparable to real quality technical clothing. I wear an ortovox hoody I paid way less for that I bought at the same time way more and it is way better. This has been sitting in a fix it bin for a long time. Lousy. Customer service person said it is wear and tear and it is not a stand alone.

This is the third Atom Hoody I've bought and am SO disappointed. Is this the quality of Arcteryx that I can expect now? The zipper "catches" at the neck, not to the point where the fabric gets caught but does that come later with use? I've purchased over a dozen Arcteryx products for my family over the years and have always been very happy with the products and customer service. I am surprised and saddened by this latest purchase.
