There's a reason this is highest rated product on the arcteryx website. It's a great multi-use mid layer. If you only own one, get this. In the winter I wear it as a cold weather midlayer for ice climbing, or it sits in my back while I'm in high movement for ski touring. For summer it sits in my pack to wear at camp or if the weather gets rough. You won't be disappointed

Bought this for damp, windy weather right on the Oregon coast & beaches & occasional trips to Alaska. On cold days it needs a layer underneath, but that's not really a problem.

I've held off on writing a review until I had used this jacket extensively. I've worn this for just over 3 years now. The best thing I've found about this jacket is that it is able to be used in so many different ways. I've used for 3 season of skiing and snowboarding. Under my Beta LT shell, and some base layers I am still very warm even in -30'c. In the summer I've used it for keeping warm at the crag, or when I'm belaying. The majority of my use is an all around jacket that I can take with me around town. By itself the jacket keeps me warm until -15'c, but it can still be worn even when it's a windy 15'c outside. This jacket does it all, and with a shell it becomes usable for everything I've done. My only complaint is that after washing it 2-3 times in the first year, it becomes very noticeable that the insulation is packed out. I typically wash mine as needed. After the 2nd year it became really "thin." It's the end of my 3rd ski season with the jacket and I noticed that it is less warm now. I expect this, just something worth mentioning. So keep it as clean as you can if you can avoid washing it. YMMV. I use this jacket at least almost daily, except for the summer, and I would definitely buy a new one in a heart beat if I lost this.

Every time I put this jacket on I feel like I'm crawling into a soft sleeping bag. Comfort is one of the first thins I noticed with this jacket when I got it. Performance-wise this jacket does great as a mid layer and an outer layer. It won't save you from high winds and heavy showers by itself but it will definitely keep the cold off with light wind and moisture thrown in. I take this on every activity all year around and it works perfect. Since it packs down so nicely into its own hood I always throw it in.

They don't "give it away", but this hoody is exactly as advertised and expected from our friends at Arc'Teryx. Other than the construction and material quality, the coolest part of this hoody is the way it seals. The cuffs and waste have an integrated high grade stretchy material that gently holds in place. The hoody seals around your face with a well thought out gasket that's integrate with the hood adjustment string. Good things aren't cheap and cheap things aren't good.

Bought this jacket to compliment the new Beta AR Jacket that I just purchased. I'm looking to have a better winter kit and reviews said this, along with the Cerium LT that I already own, would make the perfect fit. So far I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this. Without question it's the best jacket I've ever worn in terms of warmth-weight. It fits perfectly and looks amazing. I was pretty sure I'd be taking my Cerium this summer for the camping trips my friends and I have planned, but after having worn this jacket for the last few weeks I know I'll be torn when the time comes to leave one or the other at home. For sure this jacket and it's versatility, ability to shed water and maintain warmth even when wet, is an advantage. I would say it's NOT quite as warm as the Cerium LT, but it's a very close second. Very hard to compete against down. Been encouraging EVERYONE I know to take a look at this jacket. For the price... wish I had bought one of these years ago.

I bought my Atom LT a month ago, and since then it has quickly upstaged TNF's Ventrix Hoodie as my go-to jacket. It is noticeably lighter and softer than the Ventrix, but at the same time boasts equal if not superior warmth. It is also definitely more breathable, as I have worn it in warmer conditions where the Ventrix would have cooked me alive. Impressively, despite its lightweight the Atom LT has a number of handy features that make it even more comfortable and versatile. From the fleece lining of the hand pockets, to the durable and easy-to-operate zipper, to the extra large h-c hood (the only one of its kind I have ever found that accomodates my head and helmet without any discomfort), it is clear that Arc'teryx put a huge amount of attention into designing this jacket. In my eyes this makes the Atom LT a true masterpiece, and my favorite jacket of all time. I wear it almost daily, knowing that whatever the weather or activity I am guaranteed to be warm and comfortable.

As a petite travel photographer, I have a hard time finding active wear jackets that fit me properly. Many are often too bulky. Not only is this the perfect size for me to layer a fleece underneath, it's also a great color. The detailing on the sides and wrists adds additional visual interest, allowing me to wear it out to a dinner after shooting. I also appreciate the adjustable hood and soft interior pockets. Since getting it in January 2018, I've had a chance to use it during cooler weather in Maui, Charleston and San Francisco and have been very impressed. During a super windy day in Pt Reyes, California, it blocked the wind and kept me warm as I explored the Pt Reyes Lighthouse and Cypress Tree tunnel. And, the adjustable hood performed well in heavy winds.

This is my first Arc'teryx piece and my favorite jacket I have ever owned! It is super lightweight, flexible, and incredibly comfortable. I bring this jacket with me every time I go into the mountains. Warm when you need it, cool when you need it. No complaints.

I haven't worn this jacket all that much yet since its winter, but I did bring it on a week long trip to Europe in February. I was worried about it being warm enough but I put a fleece under it and in 10-15 F weather it did great. Jacket is super lightweight and very comfortable. Hood is great.

Excellent alternative to a fleece mid-layer. Very light but surprisingly warm. Hood fits well without a helmet. Combines seamlessly with both a Gamma MX hoody or a Beta LT jacket. Sangria is a great colour. OK on its own as a top layer but not wind or weather proof beyond a shower. I am 6-2 with a 46 inch chest and I find XL a good fit.

Great piece of kit, used as both a mid layer and an external layer on a recent trip to the Lake District. The jacket kept me warm throughout the trip, a light fall of snow caused no issues with the DWR finish as moisture just rolled off. I will consider investing in an AR version for next winter as I am so impressed with this jacket. Happily recommended.

When I first got into backcountry skiing, this jacket was recommend to get. Since then I use it from BC skiing, to resort skiing, hiking, backpacking, XC skiing, climbing, and casual use. I am 200 lbs 6' 1", and fit perfect into a medium. It is not skin-tight, but fits very well without noticing any bulk that wouldn't be needed. This is by far the most comfortable jacket I own and love wearing it whenever the conditions allow. My wife also steals it and wears it casually, if that tells you anything about the comfort. I have owned mine for a couple years now and it is in great shape(that is saying something since I haven't exactly babied the thing). It breaths great. My only complain is where the jacket wraps around your face lets quite a bit of wind in. Over all an awesome jacket.

I am 6' tall (183cm), 83kg/13stone/182lbs, 33"/83cm waits, 41"/104cm chest, regular slim build. I chose large and it fits perfectly. Very good, low density but very warm (seriously good quality), thin enough to roll up and keep at the bottom of a backpack if needed, excellent for layering. I wear it over a large RHO AR Zip, and under a large Iser shell. Perfect for regular skiing conditions. I've gone down to -8 degrees and have kept very comfortably warm.

I bought three of these. I really like the Roman Pine green. I use them in -10 C with just a T-shirt. Also go well with my two beta sl shells. Haven't had to wear my fissile jacket more than 5 times all winter. Great wind resistance and water repelant coating. I refer and buy these for family and friends. Must have.

For those looking for a must have jacket from Arc'teryx, look no further than the Atom LT hoody. It works well as a stand-alone jacket for milder weather and can be used as a mid layer piece under a hardshell for harsher conditions. I have used this jacket extensively in weather ranging from -5 to 15 celcius. Throw on a scarf and mittens for colder weather and it will keep you decently warm. It is very light and comfortable and is a must-have in my travel bag for a good 6 months of the year.

Best purchase ever. I bought this mid-layer about a year ago and it is still in great condition. Unbelievable warm considering it's light weight and packs easily. The jacket is a bit longer the back and form fitting, which works perfectly at keeping the cold air from getting in. Also made of a quiet material, so perfect for sleeping with the good up in extreme cold weather. I was working north of the acrylic circle for a month over Christmas and had the jacket with me every day. Now just need pants from the same material!

Recently purchased my second of these jackets, as the first one has been in heavy use for several years. I wear this jacket every day during the winter here in Alaska for running, hiking and cross country skiing. Layers well (I bought a size up from my regular to put layers underneath), insulates and breathes even on the sweatiest of workouts in the cold. Definitely pricey but will last for many miles of adventuring!
