firstly my background , so having been and alternative/goth for for decades, i also been into camping and hiking, yep in alternative gear, so at 46 now 49 i decided it was about time to change my look and thought the fact i'm outdoors all the time let go down that route for decent warm outdoor stuff 1st name that popped into my mind as the best out there was rab think out of all the styles they suited me best, so hours and hours of you tube reviews later, i see a review on arcteryx atom lt hoody, immediately is was like " now that looks way more my like my kinda style i been looking for" several reviews and hour later i was like " rab who????" i must admit the price was shocking and u couldn't understand why they could cost so much, but kicked myself thinking, ok lets go with that to start with then and see so it arrived in post and i took it out feeling how light it was and instant thoughts omg i really have made a mistake here thinking how difficult will be to send back i wonder luckly it was a frosty day, keeping the labels on i put it on and again thought, way way too light walked outdoors and was , " no way, na.! really, how???? how can it be so light and so warm" this took me the rest of the day to get over, how could something so light be so warm under i had a t shirt and cotton hoddy and was about minus 4 degrees, no wind i wish now i had never bought this jacket sometimes, as now i have been changing over everything to arcteryx brand, costing me a fortune, but i have never found such and exceptional brand in my life that is so comfy, well fitting, does everything it says its going to, awesome quality in everything they do so far now i have added some pictures of some bubbling on the jacket on one shoulder and some on from torso on side, ultimately my own fault with a cheap rough backpack "now only use osprey packs though have my eye in a arcteryx one" when i 1st had it, but it had otherwise stood up to the test of time and other wise looks really tidy still and works as it always did so many time i actually get too hot wear this and is on and off, however i think i would buy the atom ar as well at some point for those extra cold windy days,, side vents on lt are great in mild cold weather , but when i'm coastal walking on the wilds of the Cornish north coast sometimes the cold will creep in, but we are talking that windy your scared to get to close to edge of the cliffs anyway haha this jacket is a super way to get into your 1st approach to this brand, but beware your be going to AA meeting before you know it aka "arcteryx anonymous " for the addiction your get hope this help you if you on the cliff wondering if to jump off and spend your cash, you won't regret it i promise the abuse i gave this coat has been down to me, rough straps, and stuffing this coat in cracks in the car when out, if you take better care of it than me i think your have a way better condition coat than i have made it, but then this proves to me how it really does take it, next one i get i will be more careful with no i know how good they are this is an update review from when i 1st got it

Great jacket for all year round, it's much lighter than any midlayer jacket i've ever owned and it still provides all the warmth and breathability I need down to 0 degrees celsius but yet to test it below freezing. I'm also in favour of the clean but modern design of this jacket but if I had to scrutinise in the slightest it would be that they could custom make the jacket when it comes to colours as i love the purple lining of the Orion jacket but would have preferred it with the black outer layer not the dark blue of the Orion but other than that I have no complaints of this jacket and look forward to wearing it more over the winter months.

This is my favorite jacket by far. Its warm but vents well and never gets clammy when i'm biking. The hood cinches down perfectly around my face, never blows off and doesn't let in cold wind. The waist also cinches down nicely and is easy to undo. It is extremely comfortable, functions well, and stays clean for a long time. The dirt brushes right off. The pockets are super cozy and the chest pocket is a nice addition. 10/10 recommend, both for around town and for being active! The only con I can think of is that the pockets could be slightly larger but it's so minor. This is a great jacket!!

This is my absolute favorite jacket year round. Perfectly fit to contour the body due to the elastic fabric on the side of the body. It's lightweight and can be used from 20c to 5c. I also use this jacket as mid-layer when skiing sometimes. I never go anywhere without my Atom LT! I have the one with hood and no hood, and I prefer the one with the hood for added versatility when it's raining.

Nice lightweight jacket that's great for when your keeping busy outside. It's warmer then you would think and still breaths to keep you from getting too hot when doing activities.

Great for temps around 25 degrees. Use under a goretex shell for inclement wet weather. Little pricey but worth the extra $$

I love this jacket! The material is so soft and very comfortable to wear. I don't have buyers regret. Great quality and surprisingly durable. Best part is you can tumble dry it at low heat and of course machine wash it. In a way the price is justified since you don't have to pay extra for dry cleaning.

Both models are true to there intended usage. I have both models in a large size and the SL definitely fits tighter/smaller that the LT. I am a muscular 5'9" 190lbs with a 44"chest. Large is the perfect size for me in both. As one would expect, the SL is obviously thinner and far less bulky compared to the LT. However, using both models under a Gore-Tex outer layer, the SL is not that much cooler than the LT. I run warm with any activity that gets my HR to 125 bpm+ so I find that both the Atom SL and LT are not well suited for layering when I am active as they do not breath well at all. Especially when used as a mid layer. Rather the Proton line is far superior for this application. I find that I go to my Atoms when I am walking or leisurely commuting on my bike and using the Atoms as an outer layer only. But, beware of a hill, you will start to sweat!! Super happy with my Atoms but do not purchase as a mid layer for high output activities.

This is by far my favorite jacket to wear. Super comfortable and keeps me warm in most northeast temperatures with the right layers underneath. I'm 5'10 and 192 lbs, went with a large. I have a large chest and back and it fits me great with a little room underneath to layer. I own an alpha and wx cold, and I wear this one the most, just really comfortable and light.

This jacket is amazing! For the longest time I wanted a new cold weather jacket and was going to go with typically known brands since I didn't know about Arc'teryx at the time. Got this as a Christmas gift while visiting a friend in Colorado who overheard me mention that I needed a new cold weather jacket. This jacket is so warm, lightweight, breathable, super comfortable, and beads water very well for an insulated jacket. My girlfriend even tried it on and her initial saying was: "how can this light jacket be warm." Until she walked outside and realized how warm it truly was. Would highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a warm lightweight jacket that is also fashionable.

The Atom LT is the perfect mid layer choice for anyone serious about staying warm in the coldest days. It fits well underneath shells and other insulating layers when needed, and works well on its own in temperatures around 40 Fahrenheit (and not active). I am 6'1" at 188 pounds, and a size large fits perfectly.

super comfortable, warm yet breathable. Feels so good, I don't want to take it off! excellent fit, with a nice inside pocket. The hood is wonderful. However, the exterior fabric is not particularly rugged.

Iv had this jacket for longer than 5 years. This is my most used jacket. In bc we get alot of rain, so the synthetic is perfect for the wet days. I love this jacket when im short climbing at the crag or bouldering at the gym. Definitely a must have piece of gear.

I have several Atom LT's and believe it is a must have jacket. It is a very versatile piece. It's very warm for its weight but does not overheat you. It also layers very well under a shell. It stays out and does not ride up and the sleeves do not ride up under a shell. The fit is great and the cut is better. Highly recommended.

I have owned this jacket for over 7 years now. And literally wear it everyday. It's become my uniform. It has a purpose in all seasons. And most adventures. (It's not the most highly breathable jacket out there so not the best option for super sweaty endeavours) It has very little sign of wear/damage even though I've lived in this thing for close to a decade. Use it as outerwear for 3 seasons of adventures and the daily grind and then a layering piece in the winter.
