For the last decade or so my go-to slide shoe was New Balance's 801. I adored it. Usually I bought a replacement before the current one wore out. It was always there for me. Imagine my surprise when I went to do the same thing again on Zappos and found it gone! Such treachery. I couldn't believe it. When I got over my grief I looked for the closest style I could find, and came up with this one. Zappos insisted that I should buy my usual size, although my 801s were half a size larger, and it has been my experience with NB that they run small. I bought these in wide. When I got them, wide was too big. I couldn't keep them on my feet. So I sent them back in exchange for a medium, which fits perfectly. I don't know whether this shoe will inspire the same passion in me that the 801s did, but my hopes are up. They seem to stay on my feet no matter how far I walk in them.

I agree with the reviewer that is frustrated over the change of style - or better yet - offer more styles and more frequently. (It has been at least a year since I found my last pair on the Zappo's website and those are worn out, but I still wear them.) I agree the back lip could be a little higher on this style. The last pair I bought was perfect. Maybe I should try a half size larger. New Balance - if you read these reviews, PLEASE offer more of this type of shoe - different styles and colors. I watch every week for more of these to come out. Between plantar facilitis and arthritis, I put these on first thing in the morning or I am sorry I didn't, my feet hurt that much. They are the only shoe I can wear all day long. They have such good arch support and mold to my foot so well. The comparable Sketchers shoe doesn't hold a candle to these New Balance shoes. I won't waste the money on buying them. I would rather wear my old New Balance. Oh, by the way, they do wash up nicely in the clothes washer! The other reviewer - does that person even know which shoe they are reviewing? Merrill's, really!?!?!

I ordered the same size I wear in New Balance regular (closed-back) sneakers (10.5, wide width). These were enormous. Way too big in length and width.

These are sturdy and comfy. I don't use these for long distance walking, so I can't comment on that aspect. I use these to quickly slip on and go outside to feed animals, yard work, etc. I need sturdy shoes with good support, which is often hard to find in a slip on walking shoe. These keep me balanced when walking through my uneven yard.

I usually wear an 8W, but I needed to size down to a 7.5W, I suspect since these shoes are truly wide enough for my feet. I actually kept both pairs, one for regular socks and bare feet, and one for big, fuzzy winter socks. The cushioning is terrific. Love that I can slip these on quickly to take the dogs out. I can’t speak to durability yet, but they appear well made. I bought these to wear as slippers and to run quick errands outside. I am scheduled to have surgery on one of my feet for chronic plantar fasciitis, so I need shoes with extra cushioning and support. These fit the bill. Thanks Zappos for the great service.

Like other reviewers, I had the 801s before, which I love love loved! I was disappointed when I couldn’t find a replacement for a year. I tried similar styles from Skechers and Easy Spirit, but they always felt way too wide, like house slippers. In my desperation, I purchased the Skechers Sports D’Lites because I thought at least the heel seemed pretty high and maybe that would put my heel at a slight angle, so I wouldn’t constantly be walking out of my shoe. Nope, didn’t help. When I noticed this NB style become available on Zappos, I jumped at the chance to order them. Although the length was true to size, the width was still a bit loose (but comparable to the Skechers). I remember the 801s being very snug when I first purchased them, but then stretching just the right amount. Anyway, there is something in the way New Balance designs this shoe where you don’t constantly feel like you are slipping out of them. I’m not sure what the mechanics are, but if you look at the two side by side, you see how clunky the Skechers shoe looks and how sleek the NB is. Anyway, I’m happy with this purchase and will only ever buy this style from NB (I hope they don’t take it away again!!).

My goal was to find a comfortable, stable, slip-on shoe to wear when taking my dog for her early morning walk. These are perfect. I have both bunions and hammertoes which make the comfortable part a challenge. These shoes were comfy right out of the box. I am ordering a second pair to put away for the future in case they are discontinued.

Based on previous reviews, I purchased this shoe in a 7 1/2 instead of my usual size 8 and they are a perfect fit. I would prefer more arch support, but they work fine for short walks and wearing around the house. I agree with others that having a back lip that is a bit higher would help.

Perfect! This is the easy-on summer athletic slide I have been looking for—also ADORE the grey/grey color—goes with all my warm weather clothes. Fit and support are the usual NewBalance high quality, and I even put added a slim orthotic in them (I just like extra support in all my shoes). I would definitely purchase this slide shoe, again!

Dear New Balance, Please stop messing with a good thing. New Balance keeps discontinuing one version and bringing out a new version of this great shoe. I'm not convinced the new versions are any better than the old ones - just different - and not always for the better. For instance, the little lip that keeps your heel from sliding out the back of the shoe is getting shorter -- which makes it more difficult to keep my foot from sliding out. Or, sometimes I end up with my foot on top of the ridge, which is uncomfortable. That said, it is still an excellent shoe. I need to exchange it this time for a size larger so my heel won't be so close to the little raised heel lip area.

I previously reviewed these shoes on 08/22/19 and couldn't find a way to add a p.s. so am instead sending my final review. I don't mind the new look, grey instead of white markings which only look dirty with time, and am disappointed in the material. I sprayed my final pair with scotchgard because a mild walk through damp grass soaked my feet. I wound up staying with an 8 B, a full size and width smaller than my old NB 801s. I added orthotic supports because there isn't enough support in this shoe for my high arches. The good news is there was enough room for orthotics and they fit just beneath the heel edge and don't show. I wear these to and from workouts with medium weight smart wool socks. My best advice is to start a least a half size smaller and regular width (if you wear wide) and plan to exchange until it feels correct. I can't say I love these shoes because they are inferior to the prior 801s, but they are the only athletic slip-on I could find to meet my specific needs. If any other quality athletic brand comes out with a similar style but better build, I would give it a try. I discovered, as I was tossing my 9 W NB 801s in the garbage (they were truly worn out!), that I had inserted a small orthotic in those as well, but not as thick as necessary in the 900.

I've only worn these once. They are super lightweight so they are comfy and easy to walk in. They do feel a bit wide. The main selling point for me was the excellent arch support. They did feel supportive the only time I walked in them.

This model seems to be the replacement for the older W801 shoes, which I have had for years and love. This is a good substitute and seems nearly identical to the older model, though I had to get two pairs before being sure of the sizing. And it was disappointing that the shoes now costs twice what they did when I first bought them five years ago.

I love my old New Balance slide sneakers. I mean I have three pairs of them and have worn them out, I love them so much. These are terrible. The soles are hard. The fabric of the shoe is cheap and bunchy. They went back so fast, I felt the breeze around me.

i read the previous reviews and saw they saiid it ran a little large so i went down a 1/2 size and bingo its spot on. I have a wide foot and that fit good its very comfortable, room to wear socks and i do like the removable foot bed.

These are very comfortable but are at least a full size (possibly more) too large and so had to order a number of sizes until I got the right fit.

After reading some reviews stating the shoe tends to run large, I ordered my usual 9W as well as the 8.5W. I tried on the 9W first & they fit so well that I didn't even try the 8.5. Overall, they are comfortable, and thank goodness, wide enough for my feet. I was a little worried about the feel of the interior at first - in the bunion area - but now that I have worn them a few times, that is easing. I'm not sure I would wear them for a lot of walking just yet, but they have been fine for running errands and wearing around the house. The top of the shoe around the toe area is very comfortable since it stretches. My big toes tend to tilt upward, so this is a very positive aspect for me.

Love these slip-ons. New Balance 990's always a good fit for me while exercising, walking etc. I purchased these 900 walking, for around the house wear, short errands, etc. After trying many slip-on styles (Ecco - too long & narrow for me), I went back to my favorite New Balance. I dearly love these as they are comfortable and easy to wear.

Super soft and comfortable. Very light weight. I like the smaller profile. I wear a 7 wide and these fit great.

Was hesitant because a lot of reviews said they bigger than true size. Both length and width. I wear size 10 wide. Definitely true to size 10 and width with a tiny bit extra room in width but not a half size wider. Felt really good to walk and we’re super cute!

Love how comfortable these shoes are, right out of the box. All the comfort of sneakers without the hassle of having to tie laces.

I order most athletic shoes in a 10 or even a 10.5. Because of previous reviews, I ordered a 9.5 in this shoe. The length was perfect, they were slightly wide on my narrow feet. I added an insole and they are perfect! They look great and are very comfortable. I recommend these to anyone looking for a stylish looking athletic shoe that you can easily slip on and go.

This was the first slide shoe I purchased. Unfortunately, it was too big; however, the slides were otherwise perfect. I usually wear 8.5 closed-back sneaker and I ordered a 7.5 size slide... still too big.

I exchanged this shoe twice because it does run large. I am 10w or 10.5 wide - havent worn 9.5 in at least 10+ years but thats what ended up fitting me. Stretch mess top hugs foot almost to point of pressing on little toe . But I do like this slip on a lot and am getting comfortable with it (hope it stretches just on that spot)
