Good shoe overall. Not quite as supportive as its predecessor model, but with replacement insoles (I use SuperFeet), they work well for walking in town or half-day hikes in the woods.

fit true to size. I was looking for a firmer sole for moderate hiking trails. These fit the bill.

These are very comfortable shoes. Unfortunately they were not the right size for me. The soles feel very supportive and comfortable to walk on.

The front of the left shoe has a pucker in the stitching which causes a wrinkle wave effect which causes a narrowing of the room in the toe. Other than this defect, the shoe was supportive and sturdy. Ill try another pair.

Very good walking shoe. Only complain is that the shoelaces do not stay tied. You have to double knot the laces. Other than that, very good walking shoe.

I do not generally buy shoes this expensive, but to recover from a leg problem I decided I needed at least one pair of shoes designed for serious walking that really fit my very wide feet. These 4Es fit the bill, and I am very happy with them.

Great looking shoes and and very durable. The materials won't get banged up like suede or leather no matter where you may walk or hike. Highly recommended!

These shoes fit perfect right of of the box. Size 9M. Remarkably comfortable. Great for long dog walks. Very satisfied, my first pair of New Balance but won't be my last.

The inside heel of the shoe fell apart within six months. Send pictures and try to get refund no responses at all

Kinda stiff but hoping they will be better when I wear them awhile

Feel good. Stiff, will need broken in. I put inserts in them for arch support.

Only one complaint. the laces are too long. That may be b ecause they know that double tying is necessary because they unravel no matter how tight one tries to tighten them. Years of NB sneakers, never had this problem. There's a fortune to be made by the person that develops the type of lace that's on this shoe that doesn't undo the knot. Other than that it's fine shoe for oits purpose.

Shoes are a bit small.

It’s mostly a good shoe I got 14 4e.. and it felt like it wasn’t 4e wide that’s my only complaint

I found these shoes to be very comfortable. I typically have "slippy" heel problems, but the back pair of eyelets allow me to tighten up the heel without sacrificing comfort, which is great. One thing that ticks me off and leads me to a 4 instead of a 5 overall is the loop at the heel, which is supposed to be helpful for getting into the shoe, but requires pencil-thin fingers to be of any use (which makes them useless (NB -- take a lesson from Keen, which constructs loops for real-world fingers.)). I haven't been able to test the waterproof claim yet. Out of three shoes I ordered, this is the one I kept.

Marion at Zappos customer service said I could leave a more detailed evaluation of my new shoes, so here goes : length of the shoe feels good, but the width feels a bit narrow. I ordered 4E because I'm very familiar with New Balance shoes, and having feet that resemble those of a duck, I know what will fit best. And these shoes could be a bit wider. I'm not returning them though because I believe they will adjust to my feet, and there's nothing else wrong with them.

Have worn New Balance for many years. These are just too narrow for me so am returning and trying a different New Balance.

My husband loved these for fall and winter! The fit is good and gives lots of support.

I only wear NB but lately I have had issues with 4E's. 8.5 is tight and 9 is loose. Wasn't willing to buy smaller and let them stretch. I bought one of each and sent back the one that doesn't fit as well. In this case I kept the 9 because I needed shoes. When I put on an old pair of 9 4E they fit perfectly.

Returning them....Cant Get my Foot in...A Very nice looking sneaker too....

This shoe is not a good fit for my husband. He has a narrow foot and this shoe fits wide.
