These are not the Frye of years gone by. The leather feels flimsy and cheap...not to mention they say "made in India" on the interior. These large companies sacrifice quality to mass produce their product over seas and it shows. I returned them.

If you are real-life lumberjack who makes his living stomping around the great north woods, these Frye boots may be for you. They are heavy, sturdy, and very warm. As with any high-quality leather boots, some serious breaking-in is required. If, however, you are not a lumberjack, but a skinny, urban-dwelling graduate student, these boots will be impractical and too warm on all but the absolute coldest days of the year. If I had held on to these, I would have certainly needed bandages or padding in the heel area. No one can deny the style of these boots - I was initially interested in them as an office-suitable winter boot (though they would probably be too clunky for that). However, all the lumberjack-wannabe urban hipsters wearing these boots are secretly pining for their Chuck Taylors.

Since the brand has moved its boot production to India, the quality has gone way down. Second day of putting the boots on, one of the rivets broke off. If youre looking for a stylish boot to wear on a daily basis, this is not that boot. I wouldnt pay more than $180 for this pair, any more it would be better to buy a more expensive and better built boot. My previous Frye boot lasted 6 years, would of lasted longer if I took care of the leather a bit more. This boot is not like the older Frye Boots.

The boot is awful quality. I’ve now had the boots for around 3mo, and wear them casually. Nearly all of the eyelets have fallen out, and I’m having to find a cobbler to replace them. This is my second poor experience with Frye, and I will never buy shoes from them again. In short, don’t waste your money on this poorly made garbage.

Sometimes when you buy on line, the item looks nothing like the picture. These boots look and feel amazing. I have all types of boots from doc Martin's to Timberlands. These are my favorite!!

Bought these boots right after Christmas and have worn them a few times. There aren't any visible imperfections or loose threads or anything like that. Fit great but only time will tell how they break in. Ordered same size that I wear in sneakers (Nike)

I work heavy construction, millwright from local 548 so I live in my boots and know boots ,these are very comfortable light well made , I purchased a lighter color and will keep these for off work , would love to try a pair in black and use for work for a real test

I bought this boot about 2 months ago and very happy with the style, weight, and quality of the boot. The leather is smooth and comfortable. It is easy to maintain.

Two eyelets broke on one boot and one eyelet broke on the other. This pair was my second pair, the first I returned for the same reason. I really like these boots otherwise, they're beautiful and the feel quality, other than for the broken eyelets.

I first ordered my usual size in a Frye boot (10) and it felt a half size small. It was also noted to be a stiff boot and tight across the mid section of my foot. I returned the boot for a 10.5. The 10.5 fit my foot in length and width, but was still tight across my metatarsal area to the point of being uncomfortable. I decided the stiff leather may not break in well and returned the 10.5 as well. Too bad; it is a handsome boot and I really liked the style. In addition, Zappos's service was fantastic.

I don't get it...this used to be a premium brand...they were plasticy and fake feeling...very made in China...even though I sent them back I had to review so so this company knows that we see...

very high quality boots. outstanding appearance. look good with jeans or could even go with suit/slacks if you're hip enough to commit. a bit heavy but you get used to it.

I'm in love with these boots. I purchased the cognac colorway, and they look amazing. Just the right amount of tinting. What I'm even more impressed with is how comfortable they are. I can wear these all day and no problems. I tried some Bed Stu boots before these and while they look nice, they were soooo uncomfortable. I'd say that these boots run true to size. I normally wear a size 12 in athletic shoes and bought an 11.5 for these, which I'd normally do for dress shoes, and they fit perfectly.

Like another reviewer, I found the toe box to be way too small on my usual size. I’ve ordered the next half size up, crossing my fingers. I really like the look of the boots and in particular the padding around the ankles, which the similar boots I ordered don’t have. Here’s hoping!

Fit was perfect and i'm a difficult fit. I tried 3 pairs of Red Wing boots before getting these. They look better and fit great. They are a little stiffer than expected, but they will break in nicely. The finish is beautiful (chose cognac) and the leather is soft and great quality.

I was afraid the leather on these would be super thin like 90% of other leather footwear is. Nope, these are thick enough to last a good long while. The sizing was almost perfect, just a hair small but I’m between a 8.5 and 9 so the 9 fits me perfectly. Solid construction, and they look like they’re water resistant. Water beads off them. Solid boots, 5 stars.

Great looking shoe, great quality leather. I had to return and go a half size larger as they run small. Unfortunately, the heel boxes on my pair extremely uncomfortable and did not fit my foot profile. There is a point where they stick inwards and while walking, would dig/rub into my heels. I'm sure other Frye shoes are of great quality, but I was extremely disappointed with my pair.

Too narrow at front. The rubber outsole is in contrast to the boot top design. Makes it look cheap or perhaps at odds with one another.

Out of the box they had multiple broken eyelets. Comfortable, but poor construction, especially for a premium brand.

Too thin at the toe area. Wide boot which I liked but toes felt cramped and foot slid side to side too much. Great looking though. Wanted to keep them. Too expensive for the comfort issue
