I like almost everything about these pants. My ROC 2 pants to had the snap button which was constantly coming apart, luckily Columbia warranty them and gave me the flex roc pants. 1. The snap button sucks!! Unbuttoned on the second time I bent even over. I don't know who test these but they need to be noodle whipped. 2. The zip pocket is too small. you can't fit your hand in there and my small smartphone just barely fits. if you have a big smartphone and plan on putting it in this pocket don't buy these pants. My waist says 37 in and my hips 34 yet I fit well into a size 32 pants apparently. Otherwise great flexibility in the pants they fit really well.I would prefer that the back pockets have some sort of either zipper or velcro to hold them closed or a button. I guess I expected more from Columbia having passed products.

I bought a pair of these pants a couple of months ago and really likes them. I recently bought two more pair and when I received them and tried them on, they were totally sized different in the waist. They are at least an inch or two smaller in the waist than the previous pair I purchased even though they both show the same size on the tag. I am having to return them.

Columbia has a real problem with quality control, especially for pants, as the size for the same garment varies dramatically from item to item. In this case, bought two pairs of Ultimate Roc Flex Pants as I had a pair that I liked. Fit for one was okay (not as good as the original) but the second was terrible -- too tight in the thighs. Frustrating as you'd like to be a loyal customer but alas.

They started using these snaps with the ROC2's, and they are the worse! Even if lose fitting they will not stay snapped, Horrible design!

Snap won't stay snapped. Material feels very cheap. No body whatsoever to material. I hate these pants, will never again buy Columbia clothing unless I can try it on in a store. Very disappointed, I have been a Columbia customer for decades.

If the Brownsmead pants fit you well, look elsewhere. The overall length of these Flex Roc pants are over 3 inches longer than the same size Brownsmead pants (see photo), both in 30 inch inseam. The pant legs are wide enough I could smuggle cantaloupes strapped to my calves. No taper and absurdly long in the legs. You're not offering 30, 32, and 34 inch legs -- try 33, 35, and 37 inch. What percentage of the population is this lineup going to fit well? Thanks for discontinuing the Brownsmead pants, Columbia. As a short guy, you no longer make any pants I can wear without hemming.
