I've had a few pair of the ROC pants and shorts. They must have been discontinued so I tried the Flex ROC pant. They are nice but they are cut smaller in the crotch and legs. They fit, but not nearly as good as the non flex version. I just hate when companies change a great product and offer a less quality version. And now how do I find the pant similar to the ROC that fits properly? Tell me, what is the model pant that works for me. I prefer a fuller fit, not a tight fit. ??? And one that is same in a 10" or 11" short.

Great pair of pants for light outdoor work or outdoor activities in all types of weather. Various pouches and pockets allow for great access to tools, materials, snacks etc. Only issue I found was the button (snap) fell out several months after purchase. It appears the button was not securely sewn in. I can sew hook buttons back onto pants, shirts etc. but the snap type buttons are beyond me. Minor inconvenience. Would recommend. My pair ran slightly larger than what I expected, but not a deal breaker unless you aren't going to wear a belt.

These are really comfortable, but the legs run long and are a little more baggy than I was hoping for. I also wish the back pockets had a Velcro or snap to close them. Too easy for a wallet to fall out or be taken.

I'm a BIG Columbia fan. I bought these 'Ultimate' Roc pants because I wanted the light brown Crouton color. The color is great but the pocket arrangement is baffling (I think it might be set up for a left handed person). Also, the pants don't have the usual cargo pants type of pockets; for example, it doesn't have a long pocket to hold pens, etc. However, the biggest problem is the snap closure instead of the normal metal button closure. The snap closure will DEFINITELY come undone if you're not wearing a belt. The material is good quality but this is a rare design misfire for Columbia.

The zipper pocket on the right leg and the slot pocket on the left leg are way too small. I would like them to fit my iPhone X.

The zipper pocket on my old Roc pants was bigger and fit my big iPhone in a secure spot. For some dumb reason (or good reason that escapes me) they made this zipper pocket smaller.

My first pair of these pants sustained a nasty tear and were unsalvageable as shorts. But that was okay because I wanted an excuse to buy another pair. I have a 32" waist and ordered a 32 for the first pair. On arrival I found them too large. The 32 measured 34" in the waist and the pants were baggy. Other than that I liked them. Accessory pocket perfect fit for my iPhone, length perfect. When the rip occurred I took the opportunity to reorder but in a smaller size. I ordered a 30 and when they arrived measured 32" waist. They fit perfectly. I am going to order another pair in a different color now that I know what size to get. Love my Ultimate Rocs.

I bought these pants in Mineshaft and Trail. Strangely the Mineshaft pair felt bigger around the waist and thighs. The Mineshaft is also WAY lighter brown than appears on the website. Other than that...very comfortable.

Good pants, but would be great without snap button. The snap comes loose constantly so a belt is must or they'll fall of first time you move. Unfortunate for pair of pants designed for active wear. Other than that they look, feel and perform great.

For me, pant legs too wide. Look baggy on me. Waist fits ok. I have two pairs of regular Roc pants and they fit me better.

First day wearing them and every day since, I've gotten one stain after the next that won't come out that cheaper jeans, shorts and Dockers all resist or wash out. I'm very disappointed with the stain resistance and water resistance of the fabric.

The waist and inseam was fine and I was looking forward to using them but I just found the pants to be a bit too baggy for my taste. If the cut was just a bit slimmer they would have been keepers for me.

I purchased two pairs on May 4, 2020 and have worn each pair four or five times. One pair is usually fine but I find that I occasionally have to forcefully open the button closure. The other pair has the opposite problem. The button refuses to stay closed. I like the cut, the fabric, the pockets and the colors, but this button issue means I will be avoiding any future Columbia pants that have this snap-button closure.

The pants are nice and well made. The accessory pockets are too small to be of value. Can't use for iPhone or wallet in the zipper pocket. Little pocket on left leg is too small for a money clip. No secure closure either.

The zip pocket on the right side is too small for anything except a small flipphone. I have another pair of Columbia pants that have a larger zip pocket there that is perfect for my smartphone, but it doesn't fit in these pants. There are several pockets on the left that's aren't shown in the closeup pictures for most of the colors. They could be used for a knife, or glasses when you're not wearing them, but the retainer flap leaves a gap so that whatever is in the pocket falls out if you sit down or climb on anything. There's also a "hammer loop" on the left that is useless if you're not a construction worker. The description doesn't give the pocket dimensions so you have to guess or look very closely at the pix. This is all disappointing, because they looked like they were just what I wanted.

But, I had to return. I ordered a 32 length. The label read 32, but were definitely mis-marked. About 2" long. My guess is they were actually 34's. I have several pair of Columbia pants, all 32 long and all fit well.

I can usually count on a 36 waist to fit me perfectly, but these could easily be size 38 or larger. I had to return them. Also, I expected them to be like the pair of Roc Flex pants that I already own and love, only more "ultimate," but these are a different design. I would really like to know what the designer was thinking with the shallow side pocket and the loop above it. BIlly club? Long flashlight? I can't imagine what I would use it for.

The first week i wore these pants I fell in love. I was ready to buy 2 more pants, but then yesterday my button broke. So now I can only zip my pants up. The button is a snap button design it looks like a shotgun shell. The button is my only complaint about the pant the rest of it is well thought out and functions well. The stretch in the pants is amazing I'm in and out of trucks all day and even in Texas humidity the pants dont stick to you. so recap, great pants, but the snap button is a bad function. The need to put a washer behind it if they want to keep this design.

Fabric and features seemed great but I ordered a size 30, fits like a 34, falling down past my hips. Wish I could wear them but I can't.

Sizing on these pants is completely wrong. I wear a 36 or a 38 depending on brand, 38 in the Columbia PFG pants, figured that would be the same here. WRONG. Returned the 38, bought the 36, got on the phone with customer service, ended up with a 34, which STILL has some give.
