Awsome coat! It has lots of features to customize the fit.

Keeps me warm. Love all the pockets. Got the white which is a nice color but afraid to get it dirty.

I tried on several jackets looking for exactly what I wanted. This jacket is it!! It's warm, comfortable and very flattering. I love the open arm vents, hand sleeves, and furry hood.

I litterly only velcro shut half the jacket when its 30F outside with only a sweater on. This jacket keeps me super warm and definitely will be my go to jacket for any extream cold hikes. The thumb holes are a nice touch, that keeps my hands comfortable when there's a light nip in the air, but not cold enough for gloves.

This is a great in between jacket! Comfortable and Uber warm!!

This jacket is wonderful. I purchased it while it was on sale, and it kept me warm out in the cold for over 3 hours. Never did get cold. And it is a pretty jacket. Love the deep color.

I am absolutely in love with this jacket! I am a consitantly cold person and have been putting off buying a winter jacket for a year or two and just doubling up on layers instead. This year though I decided enough was enough and I needed to actually get a winter coat. I originally was debating between the bugaboo and the whirlibird. I then just so happened to be at REI looking at a coat with my boyfriend when I spotted the blue one on a rack. I tried it on and completely changed my mind. Its incredibly warm, and I bought a size up to be able to wear a sweatshirt underneath it. I've spent multiple hours outside with the Columbia Gorge windchill and never got cold from the waist up, I actually started to sweat instead. I bought the black one online after trying the blue one on in REI and got it three days later. The only thing I wish was different was that it was snap all the way down the front instead of two snaps and Velcro, but other wise I am super happy with my purchase.

Wear men's clothing most of the time for my occupation. I wanted something more girlie but warm. I GOT IT!

This coat I knew would be so cool I got it for my mother and girlfriend they both love it ...it's true to size and light ..super comfortable,, and hi Texh.. literally all you need a long sleeve shirt or short sleeve .the inner technology is like some space NAsA stuff warmth beyond belief .. outstanding materials keep it up Columbia

I bought this coat for my daughter who will be attending college in the UP of Michigan. I can honestly say she will be warm and dry for those harsh winters. It fits her fantastically, she loves the color, and the fuzzy hood which is detachable. I am worry free with this dependable coat!! Thanks Columbia!!

I am an avid North Face shopper and I was in the market for a new winter jacket as I have just moved from KY to CO. I'm 5'1" 112lbs and I ordered the size small and had to return and order the XSmall (the sleeves were too long and it was too large around the waist). I also purchased NF's Gotham Jacket but I preferred this jacket over NF. Why? This jacket has thumb holes which is super nice to keep that area between where you coat ends and your gloves begin. It's warmer and the hood stays up (if you zip the jacket up all the way). I also found that the zipper is just more comfortable around your face because of the plush fur on the collar (you know, when you zip a winter jacket up and it zips up to your nose...) This jacket has cute plush fur around the collar and the color is so pretty! It's warm and I love the pockets. It hits below my waist right at my hips. ***The downside is the length of the sleeves - I had to use the velcro adjustment so it stays above my wrists, otherwise the sleeves would have been too long again (not as long as the small but still too long). ***I also dislike that the hood/collar doesn't lay down. It sits almost straight up and it annoys me when I turn my head to the side but I think that's a problem with all winter coats. ***The red has a brown hood, can confirm, but it's still very pretty.

I live in Michigan! We have brutal winters! This is a great coat.

This coat is awesome because it's waterproof. On rainy day in the elements it pays to stay dry and warm. I hike with my dogs in the woods on Michigan fall and winter days. This jacket keeps me warm and dry. It does run a tiny bit small, and I didn't care for the fluff on the hood so I simply unzipped it! Kept the hood but got rid off the faux fur. You probably don't need to layer this coat much as it's warm and if used for activities it's nice and warm.

This is my favorite coat that I have ever owned. It is warm, but still feels lightweight and comfortable. It is also body skimming and very flattering. For reference I am 5'3 and 125 lbs and I ordered a small, and it was a perfect fit.

The Columbia Lay D Down Jacket is my coat of choice for Alaskan Winters. It is warm enough for the coldest days but stylish enough to meet friends in. The pockets are nice and deep and the sleeve inserts keep your wrists nice and warm.

I bought one for my daughter and told her it's the last jacket I'm buying her. She's 15 and I know it will last her a long time. The quality is great, it's warm, enough room to move your arms and shoulders and it's super cute. Her and I wear the same size and since I like hers so much, I'm going to have to buy one for myself!

I liked the colors of this coat and the vent features in the arms. However, I had to return it as it was too snug in the shoulders. My current Columbia ski jacket is a small and I ordered this in a medium as I wanted more room for layering on those colder days on the slopes. This coat fit more snug than my current size small. For reference, I am 5'4, 145 lbs, 34D, athletic but curvy build, and usually wear a small/medium shirt and 4/6 pants in other brands. (I decided not to exchange for a large as ski season is winding down, but had it been earlier, I would have tried the large.)

This jacket is cute and pretty warm. Love the zipper pockets and the arm vents.

Great jacket overall but the sleeves are too long. With all the other wonderful features I'm not too worried about the sleeves. Had ordered the neon one first but it was a little too overpowering for me, this color is perfect!! Nice work.

I am S in all Columbia's jackets, so i bought this one in S and it is perfect. For reference i am 165 cm, 85 cm in bust area and 55 kg. It is white white some shine. It is not bulky or too thick. The colar is not grey, but sort of blue and this makes the colar looks a little bit cheaper, the faux fur on the hood has the same bluish tone. Overall it is a beautiful jacket. For my height, the lenght of the jacket is like on the girl in the photo. For my complexion it is perfect with a sweater underneath, so if you want to layer more i woud suggest to size up. If you want it snug enough for and not being bulky, just take your regular size.
