Compared to traditional 1461s, these are an odd cut. The patent is cute, but the shoe is sort of flat (toes don't turn up a little at the toe like the regular 1461), so the leather sits a little weird on your foot. I personally found the cut to be a little narrow (little toes rubbed on the sides), but they gapped awkwardly around the ankle and the footbed is completely flat, with no arch support at all. I ordered several different styles to try and the 1461w won out. These went back.

I was told 1461 Patent is a Women's cut shoe, so will run smaller in comparison to unisex styles like the 1461 Smooth Leather shoe. I'm a size 9 usually, and a size 8 in this style fits great. Breaking into the shoes is taking some time, and I haven't had any blisters from the shoe. I think overall it's a stylish shoe and comfy enough as a casual shoe.

I was hoping they would fit. The first time I wore them they dug into my heels so badly, I couldn't wear them again. I have read they need a break in period but I couldn't suffer that much for fashion. They are really sharp looking.

The sizing shown on the website is off. These were supposed to be women's US7 but they could literally fit a grown man. Maybe it was men's US7 or something else, but definitely not what was shown. I have other dr martens, so I know exactly what the size should be in this brand.

Very cute shoes! I wear a size 9 women's and zappos suggested I order the uk6, eu39, us 8. They fit! This shoe does run narrow but my feet are on the narrow side. These shoes will need breaking in but I think breaking them in won't be that bad. They seemed to loosen up just walking around the house in them for a bit.

It's so cool and the material is very great, at first, it's rude but time after time it gets on your feet comfortable.

Love these shoes! They are chunkier than the shoes I usually wear but I was looking for something more substantial and more comfortable than a ballet flat. The fit is great and the shoes were comfortable right out of the box.

Perfect! I’ve been a Doc Martin fan since the early 80’s and have always coveted these. Very happy with them…& Zappos!

Surprised that these run very large. I’m a 10-11 and the 11 was way too long. Returning them.

I ordered a size down. I wear a 7 in women, but after reading comments before purchasing, sizing down to a 6 was the better choice. They fit great!

Doc Martens have been a favorite show of mine for years. The sole makes for comfortable feet for those who mist stand and/or walk all day long.

Such a cute shoe! I normally toggle between a 7.5 and 8 so I ordered an 8. The fit is roomy which saves from the back rubbing and causing blisters. I wore these for work, I’m a florist so I’m on my feet 8+ hours a day. Besides being a little stiff which is to be expected with a patent leather the comfort was a 7/10.

Got my usual size and they fit fine. Rub a bit on my heels but I expect this of Dr Martens until I break them in. Love the pink patent!

Gorgeous, sturdy shoe that’s as comfortable as a slipper. My teenager daughter likes them as much as my friends and I do.

I am a solid 8, but UK and EU sizes run differently - they are generally a half size larger. I ordered a EU size 38, UK 5 which fits perfectly!

It was very comfortable I recommend ordering two sizes smaller

Love these shoes but it’s worth it to go down a size since I think they run big. So for example if you are an 8.5 go down to an 8!

It was much larger than my normal size.

I normally wear 7.5; these size 7 fit while the 8 was much too big. I have duck feet- wide and flat in front narrow in back :-). heel fit fine; will continue breaking it in with padding. I like the look and got compliments (plural) the first time I wore them. will be searching for a small arch support to insert but they were fine for an evening out without extra support.

Shoe looks totally amazing and is super trendy. Unfortunately, I ordered them for my daughter who wears a 9 in woman and she can not fit them. Instead, I ended up keeping them for myself and I wear a 10 in woman. My feet are skinny so I don’t mind narrow shoes. This shoe does appear to be an ankle bleeder. I will wear a bandage on my heel during the break in to protect my skin from rubbing as the border around the ankle area is extremely stiff. Unfortunately the size smaller for my daughter is not out of stock.

I enjoy the look of this shoe, and it felt good at first. I wore them to work for about 6 hours and I was on my feet maybe 2 hours not consecutively. When I got home, I had the biggest blister on the back of my foot. It’s been almost a week and it’s still sore. I thought they would be fine as the other reviews said the same thing. I’m not sure what causes this or how to fix it.
