I really like the style and that it is a slim fit, so it was indeed not too puffy but at the same time I don't know if it feels warm enough. The zipper is very disappointing - it seems cheap and I sure hope it doesn't break before a normal life cycle. I thought for $200+ that it would be a little better made. I sure like how it looks though and it is very cute on if you are slender and like a more fitted look like I do.

I tried on a large in store of a different color and then ordered this color online. The fit was surprisingly much larger. I returned it to the store and since ordered 2 different large and 2 additional medium. All fit different! I ended up keeping one of the mediums. One Large was very big and the other fit closely to one of the mediums(that I kept). the other medium's sleeves were very short.

I wanted this jacket to work so badly. It was awkward. Very tight around the bottom but roomy in the shoulders. I finally figured out the way it is cut it just didn't fit my body because my torso is short. It zips around my hips (which are wider because I'm a pear shape) where it should be zipping around the waist. I think the cropped Thermoball would have been perfect but there is very limited availability with that one (must be phasing it out?) so I bought The North Face Holladown cropped jacket and it works well. The weight of the Thermoball was what I wanted but the fit was very strange.

Had heard so much hype about this jacket and was sadly disappointed. Pros: it looks great, fits true, and has the north face name on it. Cons: it's not really that warm. Being an avid hiker, was looking for something good to pull out of the pack to throw on and sadly won't be bringing it along as it doesn't compare to others I have with the wind. Also, not that soft. Will just wear it out when running errands I guess.

Love this jacket. I tend to either be an XL or XXL. This XXL was huge. Especially in the arms, both in circumference and length.

I wanted to love this Thermoball and was excited to get it. The fit guide prompted me to order a Medium as 71% of people liked that size, I am 5'8 and 135. Unfortunately the Medium was so tight in the shoulder area that every time I lifted my arms the jacket stayed up. The shoulder seam came well above where a usual shoulder is on all my Medium jackets. If you have narrow shoulders and are a 36A, then the Medium may work for you. If you value comfort and movement you may want to skip this jacket or go with a larger size. To solve all this took a 40 minute wait on North Face customer service, no reply text from them before purchase or chat feature available. It's going back, hopefully the Large will work.

I have other thermoballs that Inloce so I was stoked for this color but they seem to have redesigned them. That fabric was not soft and the cut was just stiff. Not a soft cushy coat like my others. Sent it back.

Bought it for a hiking trip. Super light and easy to pack! But wasn't as warm as I thought it would be. Luckily I got one size up so I could layer up.

I actually returned this item because it arrived in a tiny envelope, and turned out to be very lightweight, much more than the website indicated. It might work through late fall, but I can't imagine it being substantial enough for true cold.

TNF should display the right color in its website. The shade that I got is quite different. TNF should not ship if the exact color is not available.Returning this item.
Not happy.

I mixed up my reviews. I had purchased the Thermoball in both an XS and a S. The XS was too small and too short. I was going to keep the Small, but there was a tooth missing in the lower right part of the zipper. I was bummed, but I'm afraid to order the same coat, because the zippers seem to be cheap.
I am still waiting for my returns to be processed. Hoping both coats make it back to The North Face soon.

I returned this coat, unfortunately, on Jan. 19. I'm still waiting for a credit back. Hopefully it arrives soon.

I LOVE my Thermoball jacket so I was buying a second in a different color. This one is just as warm but seems heavier. Not sure if the fact that this one is 'matte' has anything to do with it or not. It wasn't as easy to pack this one in it's own pocket as my other one. I prefer my other Thermoball jacket that is lighter but I'm still going to wear this jacket! :)

Like, I suspect, many plus-sized women, I have been searching for an ultra-light-weight travel jacket. Having ordered and returned several, I really don't think there are any out there. North Face, I bet you could sell a bushel of them. This jacket came recently and I loved the weight, the color and the way it looked. Then I tried it on and was very sad. It fit perfectly in the shoulders, sleeves and arms, but no way would it go around my hips. I don't think I'm a weirdly-shaped plus-sized woman, but you should know that our hips are a little larger than those of a teenage boy. PLEASE think about making some clothing that fits actual people.

I was surprised by how thin the jacket is, I thought it would be a lot heavier.

I got this for a winter coat and when it came it's really light. I would say this is more like a spring jacket. Don't get this if you're looking for some of those cold winter days.

Jacket is fine, nothing special. Not as warm as similar Patagonia version.

Super Cute coat. Just not very warm. Very lightweight. XL fits perfectly and allows room for a sweater or 2 underneath. I'm 5'7" and 180 pounds.

The jacket was way too big. I used the size estimator and it was not very accurate.
