Our 6 year old son loved these shoes, but after a few weeks the Velcro closure failed, separating from the leather strap. The shoe is now unusable. This is the second par of Saucony Kids shoes that have failed in this way for us in a matter of weeks.

My seven-year-old son has chunky little feet that measure XXW and it is nearly impossible to find athletic shoes that don’t hurt his feet. Nobody makes XXW shoes for grade-schoolers, and most of the shoes labeled XW don’t feel XW. For years we have been stuck ordering the one single shoe that doesn’t hurt his foot, in the one single color it comes in, and only placing the Velcro halfway over because otherwise the shoes are too tight for him, even when we size up. Zappos finally got a wider selection of XW shoes (hallelujah!) and we ordered them all. This was the ONLY pair that his feet were able to glide into without pain and cramming, and he loved them immediately. He loves the flashy colors (his 4-year-old brother wanted me to buy him the same pair because he thought they looked so cool) and said they’re super comfy and feel great. He’s been wearing them to school every day with no complaints. The shoes look sturdy and well-made, so hopefully they can stand up to everyday wear and not fall apart too soon. Time will tell. F they hold up, this will for sure be our new go-to gym shoes. Now if only they would broaden the color selection, we’d be set!

The fit and size of these shoes is perfect! Similar to other reviewers, the velcro strap started to break within a few weeks. Fortunately, Zappos is sending a new pair, but it seems to be a major problem with this shoe.

My son loved the shoe, he chose them based on the look. The fit and comfort were great, but the shoe strap fell apart after wearing it for less than a month. I would look for a better constructed shoe.

I was so excited to find extra wide shoes in a cool design! But, alas, the quality was disappointing. The velcro fell apart very quickly and after only a couple of months the entire bottom of one of the shoes peeled off.

My 7 yo son loves these shoes for the fit and style. He has no concept of arch support so can’t comment on that. These have held up well, especially compared to the Nike Downshifter 8 he also has. He thinks these make him “super fast”.

These fit my 4 year old like a glove and he LOVES the lightning design.

We have found that Saucony tends to run small, I forgot that when I ordered. I ordered a 1.5 thinking they would be his next sneaker, however they fit now. So you may want to up the size when you order. On another note, our 6 year old loves them!

These seem to run a bit small - we ordered them in. 3.5w originally and they were too small so we ordered up to a 4w and they fit perfectly. He wears 3-3.5w in most other shoes. My son loves them. He’s a very tall 6 yo and still learning to tie his shoes so these are nice for him to keep at school for p.e. class.

Fit consistent with other Saucony styles. Thumbs up for the color combos. Still too new to see any of the Velcro issues listed in other reviews.

These shoes are for my 7-year-old son. I have worn Saucony running shoes my entire adult life and would never wear anything else. My son has also only worn Saucony sneakers since he could walk. The length and width are perfect. The cushioning and ramp/angle from heel-to-toe is great. It's hard to tell if the arch support is good, but he doesn't complain so I think that means it's OK. He also loves the design with the subtle lightning bolts.

Fit was true to size for my 8 yo with big feet. It's great that it has velcro since he still prefers velcro over laces.

My son needs wide shoes and has a very "tall" foot. I mean, it is really hard to get a strap that will go across the top of his foot and fasten on the other side because his feel are so tall. These shoes work perfectly!! I think we will be buying this kind for a long while.

My 6 year old has had these in every pattern. Easy to put on and take off. Cool patterns. They come in extra wide for his platypus feet. Thumbs up in my book!

This is the third pair of these shoes I have ordered for my son. I bought them originally because of the color and brand. Then once my son wore them, he loved them and the last 2 times he needed new sneakers (next size up) he asked to get the same kind...again. Only negative is the velcro does wear out sooner than I'd like but for him it generally lasts long enough for the life of the sneaker (3-4 months) before he outgrows them anyway. However, he does wear them every day so if you rotate them with other shoes, the velcro should last longer.

I'm very happy with these shoes for my son. We've been through several pairs of similarly priced athletic shoes from other brands (ahem... nike and fila) that always seemed to fall apart very quickly. He's not THAT hard on his shoes compared to some kids, but they were always fraying, Velcro breaking, or otherwise coming apart. These shoes have held up very well for months, he loves the "lava" design, and they seem quite comfortable for him. Very happy with this purchase.

My 8 year old son and I were frustrated trying to find sneakers that fit him. In the past, we got him New Balance, as we were told he's wide size and NB runs wide. But the New Balance sneakers didn't fit right this time. He just put on the XW size of these Saucony sneakers and is so happy they fit. Plus, he loves the color and look of them!

Fantastic! The fire and lightning colors were huge hits with my twins. Comfortable as always for wide Saucony feet. My kids toes measure at the 10 size line but I bought 11.5 to give them growth space. We always buy at least a size up from toe measurement and typically has lasted for 2 seasons.

Son loved them. Vibrant colours. Great for active boys/girls as they r good quality running shoes.

My 5 year old picked these out himself and loves them. He has been wearing them to school daily for 4 months and they have held up very well. Would definitely purchase these again.
