Customer Reviews On Cloud Waterproof

What is happening with ON shoes? I have been wearing them for years and they have always been fantastically comfortable straight out of the box. Now every pair seems to be tight and cheap. It's not like they are inexpensive at $150 but the standards have really slipped. Returning these.

I agree with the other reviews that indicate 1. These shoes make a minor swishing noise; 2. They fit tighter than standard On shoes. Noise: it’s minor and I am willing to accept it for a waterproof version of my favorite shoe. Fit: I have the both the On and On 2.0 for comparison and this Waterproof model is tighter and the build is stiffer by comparison. I solved it by switching to a thin merino wool sock and it’s perfect. ALSO - they did break in a bit after wearing and the stiffness loosened up. With Zappos’ awesome return policy, I ordered up a half size to try them. I thought those would be too loose once broken in. So ultimately I went with my standard size for On brand and the thinner sock. I love On shoes and after logging a few miles in these, I’m happy. Hope this helps.

By far the best shoes I’ve ever purchased! Nothing beats being able to walk in the rain and snow of NYC, and get to the the gym with dry socks. Specifically got the Cloud Waterproof to be able to walk around the city without having to fret the occasional rainstorm, and a lake of water in the sole of my nikes....never turning back. Only downside would be that the front of the shoe tends to scuff easily. See photos below (I’ve had these for roughly 3 weeks).

I wear an 11.5 on normal clouds. I ordered the 12 and it was still too tight. The 12.5 should work out nice. Great shoe though. It does make a crinkle sound while walking.

I wear Ecco, Clarks, and Salomon shoes and boots in size US10. Tried regular On Cloud in a store, and size 10 felt just a tad too tight, and 10.5 we maybe a tad too loose. Ordered the On Cloud Waterproof in 10.5, and they were just right -- my guess is, due to an extra membrane layer, they are just a bit tighter than their non-waterproof counterpart. Fit and finish are nothing short of stellar. Shoes are laced with an elastic string (not my cup of tea), but regular laces are included in the box. I'd say the laces are on the shorter side, and definitely too short to lock the heel in (that is, to use all holes at the top of the shoe). The shoes are very comfortable, but definitely a tad warm, which is to be expected as they are waterproof.

In general, love these as an update to my previous pair or Waterproof On Cloud. They're perfect for travel. The biggest improvement is that they do not squeak like my old model ones did in the rain. Previously, just walking on a damp sidewalk would have the shoes squeaking for blocks afterwards. Although not completely silent, they're much quieter and I'm glad I made the purchase. These are also much lighter and the new "no lacing" bungees are great, with a nice clean look. 2 things I'm not crazy about: 1) half of the logo came off the front of the shoe today on the very first wearing! Really, I don't think this has ever happened in my entire life... would think the brand is important enough to stay on the shoe. 2) the sole, especially at the tip of the shoe, is a little slippery in the rain, even on asphalt. As I'm walking, not running, I can feel the slippage as I step.

Not durable! After not even three months of wear, they are falling apart and not waterproof. If you plan to wear these shoes a lot, considering looking for something a little more durable.

They recommended a full shoe size larger for the waterproof ones and they were absolutely right.

My forth pair of On shoes as I wanted something waterproof. They look great, especially in Lunar blue and have a perfect balance of cushioning. I changed out the elastic laces for the conventional laces On supplied as I felt my forefoot was sliding around too much. As for sizing, I usually wear a 9.5, but that size felt just a bit snug, so I went up to 10, which gives my feet a lot of room. To be honest the 9.5 would have been fine. Do not go by the On website, which recommends going up a full size. Lastly, I have to compliment Zappo’s customer service, who were terrific in helping me make the exchange.

When the box arrived I thought it was empty. These shoes are so light! Also, I don’t hear the noise the other reviews complain about.

Definitely size up .5 for this shoe. My son is ALWAYS a 10 in On Cloud...except for this waterproof shoe.

Very cute and comfortable for my husband. But broke really quickly around the toe area and were no longer waterproof and no longer looked good. I would not recommend.

Don’t buy. There’s a reflective coating on the outside that peels off like in the first week. Sound like you’re wearing plastic trash bags for shoes. Overall a huge disappointment from On running.

the item i received was defective with the fabric being out of alignment creating a bump above the left toe that would obviously rip soon over use. except for this i would have given 5 stars. so it is hard to rate it. if the replacement pair is as expected, i will increase the stars but as is, the one star reflects quality control on this item. also, this was obviously a return from someone before as the shoe box tape seal was broken, probably for the same reason. the size was exactly the same as the regular on cloud. the fit will depend on your socks, if you wear thin runner low cut socks they are perfect, if you wear thicker tennis or thick cold weather socks, you may wish to go a half size up as the shoes due to the waterproofing will not stretch as much or as fast for breaking in. the fit of the clouds, both regular and waterproof, is the same as the other on shoes, perhaps a hair, eighth size, smaller than the flyer or cloudventure, but if you wear thin socks, they will fit fine.

These shoes are awesome. I've had them like 16 months now and they still look good.

Great shoes, haven’t got to test the waterproof feature out yet but they are very comfortable

I have been running in the Cloudflow and was looking for a general purpose waterproof shoe for winter. This shoe feels stiffer at the heel and top of the foot. But overall still comfortable. Also, I've taken the shoe through a variety of puddles and rain and it is waterproof as advertised. That said, I would likely go with the Cloudflyer waterproof in the future for the additional cushioning

Very comfortable. Lightweight, probably should’ve ordered half size smaller. But other than that, totally worth it.
