bought these for a winter trip. I wanted a warm, waterproof and comfortable pair of boots and trying to find 1 pair to fit the bill ( minimize packing). Typically wear 7W, since these only come in regular width I ordered up half size. Perfect, wore around the house until I couldn't stand the heat ( September) no rubbing or pinching. I can't attest to the waterproof claim but with the brand I feel confident they will be

The size needs to he sized up a half size so they are not true to size. I wear a 7.5 and had to size up to a 8. I did order an 8.5 because of the reviews but sent them back for an 8. Also when I received my order one of the shoes was not stitched correctly. Then when I got my 8, one shoe seems more used than the other. So I was not super happy about my purchase, but went ahead and kept them. They are very comfortable though and the style is nice. I got the black.

I ordered 1/2 size larger than normal and they fit perfect, very comfortable and cute style only problem is the weird bulge on both boots that was even bigger when you put them on and stepped down. I am hoping it was a defect in this pair only and am reordering.

My boots arrived today and I really like them. I normally wear a size 8 and I had ordered size 8 and 8 1/2 I had to return both and order a size 9. The 9 fit great! I have only worn them around the house to make sure they work. What I like about them is the insert comes out and I can put my own arch support inserts in. They seem like they will be warm for Midwest winters.

I’ve never been so excited to open a pair of winter boots from Zappos! After almost a foot of snow I put these right on and they haven’t disappointed! I normally wear a 6 1/2 or 7 depending on brand and the 7 in these is perfect. It’s like The best of Uggs and Timberlands all in one, soft and cozy and warm and watertight!

Wow, I am impressed! I have 2 pairs of the tall sorels (Joan arctic) where I went down in size. These I went off the reviews to size up. I am typically a true 7.5 and I ordered an 8. Fit perfect! They are warm, and way more comfortable than I was expecting! I’m so pleased, as I am asking for another pair for Christmas!

I loved these. Bought them a whole size up and exchanged them for a half size up (i settled on a 10 - normally 9.5). They are chic and comfortable. Wore them three days straight around NYC.

The Quarry/Black is a versatile cool grey/warm grey mix. Bought my normal 8 & they fit perfectly. Since they’re a sneaker boot combo they fit a little more snug & are very comfortable. The style is adorable.

Cute and comfortable. A cross between a boot and an athletic shoe.

These boots are super comfy and seem like they will be really warm. However I sent them back because the black looks much more like grey in person. It was a big disappointment.V

Alrighty, I’ve had these for about 2 months and wanted to share my thoughts. Initially I thought these would be great! They seemed warm and stylish. However, after being in deep snow and out and about these did NOT keep my feet dry. My feet have never been sopping wet when removing the boot, but my foot is always damp. And it drives me nuts. It is very disappointing because they say they are waterproof. 3 out of 5 stars because they are very cute but I was looking for a true winter boot that would keep my feet warm and dry.

Sorel Explorer Joan.......Very disappointed! First, I purchased my usual, Sorell Explorer Joan boot size 11as I am a 10 1/2 in sneaker size & always, always, always wear an 11 in this boot. No problems. I have most of the colors & they all fit well, constructed well, long lasting & that's even in water conditions. This time I ordered same size 11 which is 1/2 size up as usual & honestly was shocked that my toes did not fit even going up 1/2 like I always do. I just ordered a 12 which I have never bought any boot or shoe in a 12 in my entire life. Sorel supervisors------ something is Very, Very wrong here. Last season, as always, I have 6 pairs of Sorel Explorer in size 11, different colors. I even measured them against the new 11 color black brown that I received today & it is super narrow in the toe box area even without any sock at all. You have to know this--you have quality control--I don't even know how or what unpleasant surprise I will get after recital of a size 12. So disappointed since I love and wear this boot style so much that I wore one pair to the faded extreme while the rest of the boot was intact. I cannot emphasize enough that I am one of your many customers loving, wearing, appreciating this boot but PLEASE get that toe box large enough to wear a sock in winter after we size up a half size. Listen to the customer, it's OUR feet and OUR comfort level you're dealing with. IY=== I cannot give you the highest rating "This time" unlike the past, in this boot. Lastly, returning any item, in these difficult times, is time consuming & longer to receive. Please talk to your supervisors or whomever is in charge and get the toe box issue taken care of. The boot fits in every aspect but THAT TOE BOX. Thank you. I still can't believe I had to order a 12, taking a chance the boot will flop elsewhere or still be a narrow toe box, as the one I received today. Also, not a deal breaker would b to change that stark white boot sole. Look at your other boots and you'll see what I refer to.

I had to order a FULL SIZE AND A HALF larger. But I absolutely love the boot so far. I took a long walk and it was so comfortable. I haven’t gotten to test the waterproofing yet.

I love my Sorel Explorer Joan boots! But of course you can never go wrong with any Sorel! I do feel like sizing with Sorel is all over the place though. I have tried on size 9 boots that were huge on me, then in another style a size 10 was tight. I normally wear a size 10 to 10 1/2, and after trying on several sizes I got these in an 11, which gives me plenty of room for thick socks on a cold day (I could have gone with the 10 1/2 if I wasn't planning on wearing the thick socks). These boots are comfortable and great in the snow.

I LOVE THESE BOOTS! They are as comfy as gym shoes, with the benefit of being, furry, warm and waterproof! For days when I don't need my heavy duty Joan of A's, these are perfect! All my Sorel's are size 8, , but per reviews, I tried both the 8 and the 8.5 & am keeping the 8.5, which give me extra toe room (have some bunion and toe issues) and will accommodate my thicker Smartwool socks. Although, it's been -0 and I've had thin Smartwool socks on and my feet have been toasty! These are as warm and cozy as my Uggs, but with the benefit of being waterproof. Super cute w/ jeans or leggings. Great for walking in the Chicago winter when the snow is not crazy! I'm a 67 yo Grammie and I love them.

Very comfortable, great in snow up to two feet without snow pants. My family moved to Connecticut just in time for a blizzard and we wanted to walk our daughter to and from school almost a mile in spite of the snow. I bought these boots so I could walk comfortably and safely. They were comfortable to walk in straight out of the box! We've continued to get even more snow and they have kept my feet warm and dry. I didn't wear ski pants when I took the girls sledding and I ended up getting snow up my legs and into the top of the boot but even that didn't effect the rest of the boot. I usually wear an 8-8.5, based on reviews I ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly. Highly recommend!

Love these boots! I was looking for something less clunky than my taller snow boots for running errands and taking the dog for a walk and these fit the bill. So glad I followed the advice of others and ordered up- these run small! I am normally an 8.5-9 and the 10 was perfect, with a little room for heavy socks if needed.

This pair of boots was a gift to my granddaughter and she says she loves them! Everything about them is great!

These are super cute. Truly water proof and great for warmth and the snow. We just got about 5 inches of snow and these work well.

Following the guidance of other reviewers, I ordered a size 8 when I am regularly a 7.5 and the boots fit perfectly. I haven't worn them outside yet but in my trotting around the house they are comfy, light weight and flexible. The true test will be their warmth as I'm someone whose feet tend to get cold easily.

I’m glad I ordered a half size up based on reviews. I almost always wear a 6.5. Ordered a 7 and they fit great. Maybe could even go a whole size up if you wanted to wear thick socks but they are very warm. However I’m disappointed in the color. Picture looks black, name of color is “Coal” so I assumed they would be black? They are very gray. Nowhere near what the picture shows. Not even a dark gray. I will be exchanging for a black pair but other than that they are very cute, comfy, and warm!

Wow! So comfortable! I sized a full size up from my normal size and it was a great fit, with either thick or thin socks. Because of the plushness of these, your feet are sliding around in them causing chafing. And they're super cute!

I love these boots so much and receive lots of compliments. I ordered a half size larger per other reviews and they fit great. They’re perfect for slushy, snowy days in Wisconsin.
