I went back and forth and forth and back as to whether or not I should purchase these after reading all the reviews many times over. I'm a 10.5 size shoe and I need an orthotic placed inside the shoe bed and I need to get a thick hiking shock in there as well. Was worried that this would not be able to make it through the top part of the boot. I went up a half size and I'm one happy customer. It was perfect. They are a great stylin' boot and the trick to the upper part is to scrunch it down and then insert your foot. If you try and get your foot in with the boot top fully extended you won't be able to do it. Just push it down and get your foot in the boot first and then pull it up. You're gonna love them!!

Very cute boot. I wear a size 6 in regular shoes / sneakers so ordered both a 6.5 and a 7. The reviews made me worried that the half size would not be enough. The 6.5 fits great, even with thicker socks. I will be sending back the 7. I'm short (5'3") so the chunky sole gives me some stable height while looking casual. I got several compliments as I wore them into work for the first time, mostly from guys, which really surprised me. :)

As with all Sorels, I had to size up by half a size. It's strange that Sorel sizing is consistently off from the norm, but oh well, their shoes are fabulous and these are no different. Contrary to other reviews, I found the width to be perfectly normal and they are super comfortable. They also look great, even on my wide-calfed legs! Highly recommend.

I loved this boot. Great style and super solid sole, great for inclement weather. However, the size was too small and you would need to wear very thin socks for the boot. I usually wear a size 8, I buy boots in 8.5. I bought the 8.5 and it was definitely very snug and difficult to get on.

Just like the other reviews said these run 1/2 size small, so I am normally an 8 and I ordered the 8.5 and they are PERFECT. I will say that they are perfect without socks! I put socks on and they felt too tight, but you don't need socks with these. They are they most comfortable boot I've ever worn! It's like a puffy cloud on your foot. Great support and super durable. I showed them to my fitness class and they all tried them on and placed an order!

I bought these for a trip to Iceland where I knew I would be walking around a lot- I absolutely love them! They are so comfortable and you can wear them all day. I am normally a 6.5 and given the fit of my other Sorel Boots I ordered both a 6.5 and 7. I kept the 7 because the top of the boot is so narrow, I found it too snug and too difficult to get my foot in and out of. I highly suggest these boots for everyday wear! They are extremely warm as well!

I usually do not do super in-depth reviews but this one will definitely be. I wore these boots while I went on a 2 weeks national parks excursion to Zion, Bryce and Arches & into Vail for some snow fun. To give you the gist, these boots do well in temps higher than about 30... maybe you could go down to 25 if you wore proper wool socks but anything lower, you will be cold. While I was in Zion (temps 35-45), these boots were very warm and comfy... However, for those of you hoping this would be a good semi hiking shoe for vacays, I very much disagree. The boots are comfy and very light but I do not think they offer enough support or grip (AT ALL). These boots were purely made for touring (aka walking on paved or semi flat things, shopping, walking in your neighborhood during light snows). I would not take these shoes to anywhere you will need to do medium-ish hikes (so thankfully I brought actual hiking boots for that -- and if you intend to hike, just get those because your ankles and feet will thank you). When I was in Bryce (where I would say it is not a hike at all since it is mainly flat with some gravelly ground, small rocks), these shoes were good but it was about 25 degrees, and my feet started to feel somewhat cold. But I will say it does relatively well in snow. You do not need to worry about snow getting into your boots or any water (theyre definitely waterproof for sure - Houston rain & small puddles/flood approved too). In terms of grip, these shoes are good for snow & slush (I mean actual snow and slush that you can make your hand imprint in...) but if you are going over any ice, you will slide and fall. The grips on these are good for depth, so mud & snow... but I would not do slippery surfaces because the actual grip itself is not "nubby" so it does not stick well... the little grits on the bottom of the shoe just dont really grip that well on anything slippery because theyre just too small and not like chunky teeth that can break ice and break up water to give you traction... the big rows of traction that you see in the pics (like a big wave on the outsole) is good at trudging snow though.... its just that those actual big waves do not have grip on the bottom like hiking shoes so they dont track as well. But for normal touring/walking, I would say I could easily slip my foot around on wet pavement but I could still walk if that makes sense... You dont have the worst traction but you dont have the sure grip you would with something that has a chunky outsole. I did wear some of those microspikes with these shoes when I had to walk over some iced areas, and the shoes were durable enough that the rubber of the spikes did not damage the shoe, so that's good. While I was in the snow, I would say that no matter how I layered or wore wool socks, anything under 15F was just brutal cold.... could not feel your toes and they took awhile to re-warm back up when I got inside cold... While in vail, it was 8F at night and walking to get something from the car from the cabin was just cold.... I would say my Uggs keep me warmer but no traction in snow like these ones so overall, yes snow/slush & rain and no on ice, actual hiking due to no ankle support/overall sorta soft-malleableness of the down like outer/upper portion of the shoe. You can somewhat lace the boots tighter for a more supportive fit but you will cause the metal eyelets that hold the laces to dig into the sides of your feet so I would not do that. I did lace the boots tight at my ankles to try to give me more support but it was fairly minimal. Overall, I do love these boots. They are stylish, light & warm if youre not in extreme conditions. I would not say theyre not good for hiking but for walks & some baby hiking/inclines & rocks, theyre fine. If you live ina snowy part of the world or one where it rains often, theyre great everyday sneaker-like shoes for day to day errands that you will find good use for. If youre doing actual hiking, please get hiking shoes (I know theyre ugly but is it worth breaking/rolling an ankle? I dont think so). Also, I ordered one size up, my usual is 6.5 heels/flats, and I got 7.5 and theyre very roomy (I ordered this size because my other sorels have always been 7.5)... I prob could have gone down to 7 and been very happy with it because if I do not wear my thick wool socks, theres lots of room but because I knew I was going to walk a ton and wear wool socks, I wanted the extra space for my toes to spread and be comfy. I find putting it on to not be so cumbersome as some but I also have narrow feet so heels are always roomy for me. I could see this shoe being soft so you have to wrestle with it by lowering the shaft to get your foot in but I personally do not need to do that. Also, the laces are very long & chunky so they do come out often so double knot! But seriously if you need just a sneaker like shoe for rain & snow, mild cold conditions, you need these. theyre just cute.

These boots are just as fantastic looking in person as they appear on the web. The sole is great for traction and good looks. Unfortunately, the shaft of the boot is narrow (is it still called a shaft if it's short like a bootie?), and my gigantic size 10 foot would barely fit through it. After a LOT of wiggling and pulling, I got them on and liked the fit, but I'm sending them back because who has time to do all that wiggling in the winter? I bet they would be great for a smaller foot...or if Sorel would make a wider shaft for girls with big feet!

I was excited to actually buy a pair of Sorel Boots. Thought they would be warm and cozy When I got them and tried them on I actually checked the box to make sure IO didnt order a kids size!!!! way too small , at least a full size too small if not more. Too bad...returning will not purchase as apparently sizing is off.

I read all the reviews and decided to go with the 5.5 even though I normally wear a 5. The 5.5 fits me fine although I could have gone with the 5. They feel a bit narrow to me only because I have a wide child size foot. I love the comfort and softness on the inside and I LOVE the look of these boots. They do not look bulky on me at all even though I went up a half size.

I love the look of these boots! They are made of nylon on top with a sturdier type nylon around the boot (like a sneaker) and the great grippy oversized sole. Style is great but they run small. I wear size 8 and have always had some wiggle room for almost any sock thickness (except super thick) but trying them on I had to use my thin wool socks and even with them they are a bit tight, width and length. My feet aren’t a true wide but I don’t wear shoes or boots that run narrow. Not sure if the nylon will give a little with wear but that’s what I’m hoping for.

Love these snow shoes. They are stylish and easy to wear as they don't have the bulk of regular snow shoes. I normally wear 6.5 and these are a 7 so its better to size up rather than size down. Really found these so comfortable and didn't wear my bulkier snow shoes at all this season.

Sizing: I wear 8.5 shoes and 9 boots normally (for socks). I got these in 9.5 and they are perfect with light to medium socks. Go a full size larger if you plan to wear thick socks. These are stylish snow boots great for city or slopes. These boots are not as light in weight as The Northface puffy boots, but these have a more aggressive (and cool) treads and footbed is more cushy, feels like sneakers. But they are much lighter than tradition snow boots. The upper and boot are soft and lightweight, and can be slouched. The straps adjust well to fit a range of foot width. Fashionable and functional.

Love, love, love! Sizing is somewhat inconsistent, but once you find your size they are amazing. I ordered one 9.5 and they were huge. Ordered 9 and they were small. Tried 9.5 again and perfection.

Love these boots for the snow. Very comfortable and stylish. Takes a little longer to put on but definitely not impossible. Scraped ice off my car in the snow and rain for at least 20 min and my feet stayed dry. Would highly recommend.

I wear a size 9 in sorrel, but this show ran small. Also after wearing them a day in the rain while in NYC ... after a long day of walking the odor inside the boot was horrible! My foot does not stink but they did after wearing this shoe. Insole was completely drenched. Once insole was removed the wool inside smelled horrible. I’ll be donating these after I get them cleaned. Very disappointed.

Love these, but they are not true to size! I wear a true size 8 and I will be returning for a size 9! I should of read the reviews before buying. They are stunning looking and cozy, I just need a size up! Sorel is known to go up a size in boots.

I live in the Seattle area and just had the opportunity to test out my new Sorel Kinetics in the snow today! They are comfy, stylish and warm. I love them. They look modern and have great traction. Sized up half a size based on the reviews and very happy I did. My regular size (9) would definitely have been too small. Don't know how they would be in extreme temps and deep snow but for where I live (snows anywhere from 1-6" and temps are typically not lower than 25 degrees) these boots are perfect!

I wanted a back up pair of boots for walking my dog in the winter snow. I really like how you can tighten the opening of these boots to make them really fitted. If there is any downside is the fact that they are so soft, they don't give you a lot of support as a leather, sturdy boot would provide. I wear a 7.5-8 and purchased an 8 and they fit perfect. I don't like wearing a thick sock and these are fine with a lighter weight sock and are still very warm. Pictures make the boot look bulky but its actually got a slim profile.

The shoe is very light weight, feels like sneakers, and has a sporty look to it. I normally always purchase my actual shoe size (6.5) even when reviewers recommend sizing up. I purchased a half size up this time only because size 6.5 was out of stock. The size 7 fit perfectly fine and I tried them on without socks. It actually felt like a 6.5 as there was not too much extra room between the top of the shoe and my toes. I didn’t have any problems slipping the shoe on like some of the other reviewers. I really like the boots and find that they look very trendy and can be worn out in cold weather even if it’s not snowing.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Ordered the black and white....so cool looking!! The large grooved sole is what got me! Based on reviews I ordered a half size up. Fit is perfect. No need for thick socks because boots are warm. I wear them all the time; snow, rain, and cold temps. Extremely comfortable. Could wear them all day and night if I had to. Extremely satisfied with purchase!

I wear an 8 in street shoes and 8.5 in running shoes. I bought thes in 8.5 and they are great with lightweight Smartwool socks. I have a bunion on one foot and they just fit without putting pressure on the bunion. Great for long dog walks and keeping feet dry. Cold air will blow through the fabric upper which I only noticed during Polar Vortex!
