I have a pair of Speedgoat running shoes fit by specialist. Needed boots with ankle support for extended hiking vacation. These fit the bill. Somewhat more attractive than clunky looking Low Speedgoat!

I'm a 36 y/o female who used to enjoy running and hiking, but had to largely give it up a few years ago due to knee pain (a life sentence on the elliptical, boo). I needed to take my dog on a trail walk and had forgotten my shoes, so I popped into a store and asked for out of the box comfort. They recommended these. I'll admit, I'd seen Hokas before and thought... yikes they look like platforms, and in a year or two, some experts will come out and say that these are horrible for form. MAN, WAS I WRONG! I've now taken 3 fairly strenuous hikes in these and have had NO pain before or after. No rubbing, no discomfort, no blistering, no anything. I mean-- for real, I feel like these crazy looking shoes just gave me back my hobbies, and possibly a level of fitness I'd kind of given up on! I've already ordered the Bondis to try running again. If you're on the fence, just TRY THEM. They're miraculous. For real.

I'll fitting shoes worn on a 4 hour mountain trail equals broken toe nails. I had to find the correct shoes . This one provided it. Albeit my toes were still healing, they were the perfect company to our Mt. Zion climb at the Angel's Landing. Thank you Hoka! My first and now my forever .

I put these to the test on big mountains in So Cal and also Whitney and Langley (both 14ers) in the Sierras. They were absolutely waterproof in stream crossings and stuck well on loose, rocky terrain and slippery cross country stuff. I used them on Cactus to Clouds, multi-peak (like 10K ridge) and also cross-country portion day hikes on every trail of San Gorgonio, San Jacinto, and Baldy in So Cal (all 10K+ elev and most 15-23 mi), did some desert in them (which eats hiking boots and I honestly feel is harder than C2C as terrain is so rough and loose) and also a few snow hikes with micro spikes as well. I am extremely prone to shin splints and fractured my tibia 3 years ago, and these gave me no problems and worked right out of the box.

Love the Speedgoats. The Mid’s I got for hiking & waterproof - could have gone up 1/2 size - seems a little off from the reg Speedgoats but didn’t want to return b/c I’m using them this weekend.

I wear these trail running in wintry and/or wet conditions, and they got me through a wet, snowy, muddy, rainy half marathon trail race. They kept my feet and ankles dry and they are ridiculously comfortable. They fit exactly like my low speedgoats and cliftons.

Hike/run in these in snow, mud, 0 degree temps in Wyoming. Versatile, comfortable, always warm enough, LOVE them. Best all weather hiker I've ever had. Buying another pair.

I have recently discovered HOKA on my own in the running store a couple months ago. I had plantar fasciitis for over 6 months. The bondi 6 running shoe cured me. The hiking boot I had previously worn caused me flare ups and pain during the hike and after. These hiking boots worked like a dream. So comfy, lightweight and no flare up! Worked perfectly for my 17 mile hike in the wet upstate NY high peak region!

I bought these for a Yosemite hiking trip. Wore them a few times prior to the trip- really didn't need to break them in. I run in Hokas so that is why I decided to give these a try. I wanted a light weight hiking boot. These were great. I always size up in Hoka running shoes and did the same for these- buying a size 10, when my street shoes are typically a 9 or 9.5. These boots did not disappoint! Made it to the top of Half Dome- long hiking day (about 20 miles) they were good on the trail and grippy on the granite. I had been concerned they would not have a dense enough tread or perhaps not a stiff enough construction. They were the right choice for me- legs were super tired by the end of the day but my feet were fine. *****Worth the money****

Love the feel of this boot. I own a couple pairs of the BONDI 6 for running/walking 12hr shifts on hard hospital floors and they worked wonderfully and cured my plantar fasciitis. Wanted to give the hiking boots a try and they're just as comfortable and don't aggravate the plantar fasciitis! Love these boots so much, a little on the expensive side, but worth it.

Nice shoe but I bought awhile back. Had I known they were going to come out with Gore-tex waterproof shoes shortly after, I would have waited and gotten those instead. This waterproofing is less breathable so my feet sometimes end up damp from sweat.

I love Hoka One One shoes because they are the only ones that don't hurt my arches, and are usually very comfortable for me. I bought my actual size 9 1/2, and they were uncomfortable, even with a variety of inserts and socks tried. No size 10's were available in the 2 colors I like in this model. The soles do have exceptional grip for trails. As for looks, they are attractive except for the bottom side sole bearing a different color with the name Hoka written way too large on the outside edge. The same sole on the inside edge is a pretty solid blue color with no words. I would have appreciated that on the outside area too. The colors and stripes around the top area and laces are attractive, striking, and unusual looking. They come up fairly high around the ankle and were annoying my ankles and uncomfortable there, despite my providing maximum give with the laces. Never tried them outside the house to determine their waterproof ability, because I had to return them. I wonder if size 10 was available if this shoe if it would have worked out for me, but I switched over to Tor Summit Hoka's in a 9 1/2 for a trip to Iceland coming very soon, and they worked well. The price is high, but I am willing to go there for comfort.

These are really comfortable and have lots of support. The fit was perfect, true to size, and nicely padded around the top. They may be too narrow if you need a wide shoe. Zappos was out of my size in the color I preferred, so I ended up returning these only because the blue was just sooo blue. Totally recommend!

Hoka One One are the only brand I can wear at this time due to joint problems in my toes. The rigidity, cushioning and wide toe box of the Stinson ATR4 is perfect for my feet. I'm going on a hiking/walking tour of Japan and wanted all these qualities in a waterproof shoe. The Speedgoat seemed like it would fit the bill, but sadly, the rocker/rigidity is not quite the same as the Stinson and it didn't work for my particular problem feet. I feel that this is an issue with my feet and not with the shoe. Zappos return policy makes trying out shoes so easy and is much appreciated.

They're pretty comfortable and they're definitely waterproof. They don't make all your foot pain go away like a lot of reviews make it sound. After having them for four months the gray rubber-ish part around the side and toe is pulling away from the shoes. I don't think I'd buy them again. When I bought them I followed suggestions from the reviews and went one size up and they fit great.
