Others with injuries led me to Hoka and I first tried and loved the Bondi 6. I have significant spinal issues both cervical and lumbar from college football (Army) and a severe high speed mountain bike crash. Today I received these and took them out for six miles of hills. I felt a little slip going up a steep hill however I could have laced them a bit tighter. Heal cushion felt great and they did not disappoint.

These are not Speedgoat I shoes. They are Clifton uppers on Speedgoat soles. The toebox is narrow and I bought a men’s 7.5 instead of a woman’s 9 hoping it would be wider by design. The sole feels great. I love the waterproof mid design but they aren’t Speedgoat shoes. The photo has from L to R Clifton, “speedgoat” mid and speedgoat.

I was very disappointed in this shoe and had to return it. I recently underwent major back surgery and spent over $500 looking for ideal walking and hiking shoes to help with diminishing the jamming effect of my triple laminectomy. I bought several expensive brands including the Hoka One One Stinson ATR 4. That shoe is amazing! It fit perfectly with good arch support, adequate width and amazing cushioning to provide the spring I was looking for without sacrificing ideal fit. The ATR 4 has become my go to shoe over two other expensive Asics and Brooks models. I was hoping the Speedgoat Mid would do great for my hiking endeavors. Unfortunately, even in the same size as my Stinson ATR 4's the Speedgoat feels very tight across the width of the shoe. It also feels like there is much less arch support vs the Stinson ATR 4. The actual size of the shoe lengthwise felt true. I was stunned and highly disappointed as I really thought I had found a perfect solution to be able to get back to hiking without all the weight and hard minimal cushioning in almost every typical expensive hiking shoe. I will have to keep looking.

Been trail running on this for a week, it's pretty awesome. I switched over from MBT shoes. It's definitely a narrow shoe- which workerd out for my foot but beware. It has a great midsole cushion and the ankle height has already helped prevent a few ankle turners from unseen plow ruts. I give this shoe a solid 4.5. I'm running around the local NH winnery and the occasional sharp fieldstone makes itself felt- a slightly stiffer sole would have made this shoe "wicked awesome"

Over the years I've owned and worn standard hiking boots for day hikes in the Pacific NW and primarily in the Cascade Mountain Range which includes Mt. Rainier and the PCT. About 2 years ago, I developed a foot issue in the ball of my left foot which became extremely bothersome and it would become so sore that it would limit the number of miles I could hike without pain. I tried different brands of hikers like Keen, Oboz, Asolo, Merrel, and more and after spending over $1,000 in different boots in 2020, I finally had all but given up. That is until I landed on the HOKA website and found the Speedgoat Mid Waterproof on sale. I bought a pair of 8M and tried them on and wow...did they feel plush! I tried them on an 11-mile hike on the Wonderland Trail at Mt. Rainier the following weekend and holy smokes were they great! I now have about 50 miles on them and they are fabulous. Didn't even have to change out the insoles because the ones that came with the shoes worked great right out of the box. Great feeling, awesome fit, and cushy too but they still had some ground feel. I am sold on the HOKA ONE brand and I have finally found the right shoes to keep on hiking with. So thankful. Great shoes!

I'm not exaggerating when I say my Speegoats are the most comfortable shoe ever for me. They need no break in time. Love them. In addition Hoka granted me a credit for a pair that didn't fit just right with no questions asked. So I'm a fan.

I have purchased Hoka shoes over the years but I admit I came to the Mid WP Speed Goat party a little late. I started to develop some Plantar issues and needed to come up with a fix. When I had discovered the Mid WP, the had initially already been removed from the Hoka site. I was however able to find them in my size from one of their authorized sellers (they have since been added back to the website). I run lots of trials in Northern FL and Southern GA and these shoes are awesome for running over trees, rocks, sand, mud, clay etc.. The only design "flaw" I found in the shoe was the material made in the outside/inside of the upper. It is almost like a felt type of material and will tend to "shred" on the inside after several runs. I really like the shoes so I went to a local shoe repair shop and had them work their magic and they designed some real leather to go over the original material on the outside and inside of the upper. The difference was instantly noticeable and the design "flaw" has been rectified. It was evident that Hoka was trying to keep production costs down on the shoe which resulted in the "felt" like material being used on a high top running shoe. It is difficult to find high top running shoes so I hope that Hoka keeps these shoes in their lineup. I wish the Hoka site had the ability to upload some pics so I could give you some idea of the "improvement" I made in the event you have the same issues.....overall a GREAT trail running shoe!!

Saw lots of reviews about how they fit narrow. First out of the box yes, but after one day of use. They fit perfect. I would be afraid to go with a wide shoe, because it would be to loose. Am recovering from knee replace. These shoe have the best platform for my recover. HOKA HAVE ALWAYS GIVING ME THE BEST SHOES. I work a retail sales floor and they more there hold up.

I have several pair of Hokas and these feel true to size and width as the other pair. I feel like Hoka is pretty consistent in sizing. The reason I got these was that I wanted some extra ankle support. And these deliver. They're as "attractive" as any other Hoka shoe, which I think is not at all attractive. But comfort is far more important to me than appearance in footwear.

Purchased to run trails in wet weather and snow and they have served me perfectly. This shoe is totally waterproof and provides protection on the ankle area. I just spent four days hiking the AT in Shenandoah National Park and used these shoes as hikers. Wow, what performance they provided. The trail is very rocky and the shoes provided great cushion, stability, grip, and ankle protection. They have met all my expectations. Will order again when needed.

Amazed by the cushioning. Was able to hike in fairly extreme terrain around Sedona and these were a Godsend. I have plantar issues and achilleas and wasn't sure I'd ever be able to hike much again. These gave me totally confidence to see what was possible. Some dude on the hike going the other direction said, "nice shoes". Cracked me up. This is my first pair of Hokas and I just feel stupid for not discovering these years ago.

Using the product on road, but probably should use only off pavement, after a month (92 miles) the treads are flat on heal. Comfort is high and cushioning is at highest end even more than previous Hokas, but slight knee pain due to feel of running on heels too much.

Excellent shoe for off-road and trails. My test of a long walk through talk wet grass always tests a shoes waterproofing limits. This shoe passed, while also providing excellent comfort and traction. I've crossed flooded trails.....walking through 4-5 inches of water.....having to be careful not to go past the top of the shoe. Shoes proved to be completely waterproof.

I originally got these as waterproof shoes to go to sporting events in the rain. They have become much more based on the tread, the comfort, and smaller profile than regular hiking boots. Love every aspect of these shoes. As a wearer of Hoka running shoes, the quality was matched with these

Bought these for a trip to California, they felt a little small upon first wear but I found that I actually didn't mind and preferred not having a loose shoe.I never broke them in but they were good to go for 10+ miles on my first day hiking and I had no issues the following day.

I use these for trail running. I have weak ankles from prior running injuries. The support from these shoes is excellent. Th grip is great. The cushion and comfort is great. I recently used these in the 3 Day TransSelkirk Trail Run Event in Revelstoke B.C. 60 miles. 18000' very. I had happy feet. I have also tried the Arcterx high tops. The Hokas are far superior.

This shoe was a pleasant surprise for me. I have very narrow, low volume feet with low arches so most medium width shoes tend to be much too sloppy for me even in the correct size. My left foot is a half size longer than my right foot which further complicates getting a good fit. Since I bought this shoe as a technical trail shoe for difficult terrain, and after reading many of the reviewers comments about this shoe feeling narrow and a half size small I ordered a size 11 which is a half size larger than the 10 1/2 I would normally buy for road running. When the shoes arrived and I tried them on I found the size to be spot on length wise and just a little wider than I was expecting so I wasn't sure if I'd like them, but after lacing them up and going for a short, technical, single track trail run/hike (5k) I knew they might be just what I was looking for. I've been using these for about a month now on steep, rocky terrain in the Wasatch mountains and I'm loving these shoes. Nice cushion and great technical fit in the heel and midfoot with plenty of room in the toebox. No blisters, hot spots or other fit issues whatsoever. Sidehilling, boulder hopping, steep downhilling that would normally create issues with toes, no problem. It's too early to tell if there will be any durability issues but after over 20 miles in the dirt, I'm very happy with this purchase.
