Like some others said, my heel kept slipping, which is unfortunate because I really like the way the shoe looks. I'll try the regular Clifton 5. I loved my Clifton 3. Hoka are a great running shoe. Worth the cost.

With a knit upper, I thought I had a chance at wearing my true size but I still ended up half-sizing u because they felt tight in the toe box. At half a size up, they are more comfortable to run in but I can still slip them off without untying them. Still, I feel better post-run in these than the standard Cliftons. They have to be replaced more often than others shoes I've run in but they are still the best ride. Still my favorite long- run and marathon shoe.

I have ran in the Clifton 1, Clifton 3, and now the newest iteration, Clifton 5 Knit. I thought I would give the knit a chance as I believe it aesthetically is more pleasing then the standard Clifton 5. I would recommend the standard for running over the knit version. Due to the lack of a true heel cup w/ padding, I find that my heels slip all over the place. I don't find them as breathable as the standard mesh and for some reason the overlay around the laces is very stiff, I figured it would soften up over the past week of owning them, however 30 miles into them I still feel the stiffness occasionally when in stride. I have read previous reviews mentioning this and thought it was bogus...it's not. Overall they do look great and they are comfortable shoes, traditional Hoka One One cloud feel, but I don't know if I can recommend them over the standard Clifton 5.

Cute shoe. Did not fit. Creased at the toe when walking. Make bigger size shoes for women so we don't have to shop in the men's dept.

I like Clifton 5's a lot. Great combination of very comfortable and pretty fast. I really love the profile of the sole and smooth turnover for my running gait. But the sharp edge on the arch of insole/liner is terrible. Luckily they're the same shape as my worn out Elevons so I just swapped out the new insoles with the softer Elevon liners and the problem is completely fixed. I will add however that I just picked up the Clifton 1's and Like them even more...

I am a 67 yr old male, stubborn-pace, 51 times marathoner planning to run my 27th NYC Marathon in November and a Hoka loyalist for 10 years.....but disappointed in my March 2020 Clifton 5 Knit.....my 4th Clifton Knits. After only 244 miles since March 12, they are already worn smooth on the outer edges and heels; my ankles and knees are starting to talk to me. This pair is not the Hoka that won me over years ago to be exclusive yet I will still give the Clifton 6 a try. BTW, i have made you many Hoka consumers as they are worn by my wife, my pharmacist daughter, and numerous nieces, nephews, co-workers, friends and neighbors.

The lightweight of the shoe felt nice, like floating on air. When I wasn't walking, it did hurt to have them on as they were too narrow for some reason. About a couple of hours after a jog with these shoes, I did feel discomfort in my feet. I wish they would have worked out for me as I felt good when I was walking.

When I first put the shoes on they were very comfortable and felt great, it wasn't till I started to walk around in them that my issues began. For me these shoes are not a good fit, for others they may be perfect. I would recommend them to others but explain the issues that are specific to me, I did like the light weight of the shoe and if they had fit me better I would have been very happy with them. For example I did not like the fit and feel, however my wife loves her pair (clifton 5 unisex). With the lack of use I did not feel that I could properly evaluate the Pros/Cons and Best uses of the shoes, other than what is marked.

I run in the Clifton 4's and starting with the 5 they changed the shape of the shoe (presumably a different last). It's even worse in the 6. And they still call it the Clifton. If you're going to change the shape of the shoe, call it something else.

I bought these for my brother who has hammertoes, and they were too small. They were too tight in the toes. Sadly, I have to return them. I know Hoka's are great; I have the Gaviota's which are like walking on pillows (but with great support) and I bought a pair of Cavu's for my dad which he loves for the same reasons. And of course, I love you Zappo's for your outstanding service, great shoes and free shipping.

The arch is way too high. If I ran in these I would have blisters plus the heel is very loose. Get the mesh version for better heel support. I don’t blame the shoe for the fit it just didn’t work for me feet.

This Hoka Clifton 5 was supposed to be a little "dressier" for casual use, than the standard Clifton 5. It was $10 more too. I sent it back, as it doesn't cup your heel as well and didn't feel as robust.

Very disappointed in this product. The left shoe feels like it is much wider than the right. Leaves my foot sliding around and burning up. There is also a stiff ridge protruding on the left shoe that causes a lot of discomfort. I also left a review for this product prior to this one and promised I'd be contacted if I had problems. Not sure why that never happened, but I was emailed again to leave a review. I guess conveniently not seeing my review until after the 30 day guarantee, idk...

My first pair of Cliftons made me love marathoning again, and I'm on pair 10 or 11 after a dozen Ironman races and thousands of miles running. But I won't buy the 5 Knit again, because my feet slide around in them too much compared to the standard model. The combination of knit upper and elastic cuff doesn't secure the foot as much, especially when running hills and loose surfaces, which is where I do most of my training. As a result, I'm getting more too banging and a couple hot spots on long runs. Even when I cinch the laces very tight. Love the brand, just not this model.

There is a hard plastic piece in the shoe that causes terrible pain in the arch of the feet. Who would think of a design like this? I couldn't return this shoe because I tried the shoe after a month.

Love Clifton 6. Lightweight. Fits my foot well. Cushioning is perfect. Shoe's decorative part came off within the first month. I emailed Hoka but received no response. It was the first time I purchased a running shoe for 130.00+.
