This was the next generation from the Mizunos I currently own. The toe box was more pointed in the front and my big toe rubbed, where in the past they did not. Also, they were very stiff around the ankle, compared to my previous version (and yes, I know the old ones are broken in, but there is substantially more padding, and it's my 4th pair of Mizunos. I sent them back and now I'm back to the drawing board on what kind of running shoe to go with from here.

I purchased a half size up because of the reviews, and the length was perfect. These shoes are very soft with great cushion. I ordered wide but the shoe still felt barely wide enough to me. I have a high instep so the shoe laces could be tied in a knot, but they were not long enough to tie in a bow...not even a very small one. I could have just replaced the laces, but after running about a mile on my treadmill the symbol on the side of the shoe was rubbing into my foot. I ended up taking these off to return and finished my run in my old shoes. I used to run in Asics Gel Nimbus and I was told these were a similar feel to the earlier models. They really do have an excellent cushion, too bad they did not work for me. I love that Zappos makes it so easy to find the right shoe. I am trying out Brooks Ghost right now, and I am really liking them, although they are not as soft or stable.

Unfortunately, the toebox of Wave Rider 22 is not roomy. I loved my pair of Wave Rider 21 and bought 22 thinking the fit would be comparable. It is not.

Liked the look of this shoe. Ordered a wide width and it is too narrow. Foot bed is a little soft for me.

The shoes were too narrow, even for medium width, and long (even though my toes keep hitting the top). Definitely will not buy online sneakers again because of these issues.

Although the quality is nice, the shoes are too long and not wide enough. Even though they look long they bother my toes/bunions, and there is something wrong in the heel.

I don't love these. They feel heavy and bulky without much flexibility. They made the bottom of my feet sore. If you need more stability, these are probably a good shoe for you. I don't need this much stability.

These were too small in width and length in my normal size, and the plastic on the side dug into my feet.

My first pair was Wave Rider 18. I've been buying this shoe every year. This year's Wave Rider 22 has a narrower toebox and is not as cushy, I insert Aeorx insole as well. I returned the Medium width shoe and ordered a Wide. No difference in the shoe width. I cannot wear these shoes. I hope Wave Rider 23 goes back to the original fit.

Unfortunately, these sneakers are much smaller than marked.

Oy. SO disappointed. I love Mizuno Wave Riders, but these were just WAY way too wide (and I have a wide foot)! While running my feet were just swimming around in these puppies. The toe box is especially huge. Frustrating, because I've been running in Wave Riders for many many years. Looks like I'll have to change models and perhaps even brands.

I have been wearing Mizuno Wave Riders since the 10. Each year there’s some quarky change. With the 22 the toe box was too big for my very wide feet. Usually Mizunos run very narrow on me and I welcome the extra room. I had to order a size down to 8.5, when I have worn a 9 - 9.5 (my normal shoe size is an 8). I walked around in them for an evening at home and realized they were no longer a pure neutral shoe. My knees and shins were hurting. Never had a Wave Rider hurt my knees before. This was disappointing because I could always count on neutral with Wave Rider, but no more I guess. I had to return them. For the first time I bought a non-Mizuno pair because the wornout 18s and 20s have holes. I bought a neutral Brooks Glycerin for walking. The shoe fits like a glove, and comfy with the cushion, yet they’re a bit sloppy, meaning the foot moves around on the cush, but they are neutral and don’t hurt me.

Fit was too small.
I ordered a half size larger than my normal size and my toe was to the end. I ordered a wide and they didn’t seem wide enough. Felt like any normal width shoe i have had in the past. Style was cute but comfort and fit weren’t there.

Logged approximately 50 miles in this pair of shoes.
While they provide ample cushioning there is one flaw that causes discomfort. The Mizuno logo on the side at the front of the shoe is very tight, causing rubbing and buckling of the material in front of it. Loosening the laces does not provide relief and causes the shoe to slip. I would not recommend this shoe for that reason unless the problem is with this specific pair.

I already have this show in grey, fits perfectly--I need a wide toe box. Love this show fit!
So, I ordered another pair (happened to be turquoise). It's a different fit in the left shoe toe box, painful.

I think this would be a great shoe but I really couldn’t tell. I ordered a size 8, the box said size 8, but the shoe inside was a size 6. I squeezed my foot in to see if I could gauge the comfort but that was impossible. Good looking shoe and I may reorder at some point and give them another shot. I’ve been ordering from Zappos for years and this has never happened before.
