My teen son wanted a new backpack and it's the perfect size for him to use daily. He likes the comfort. It should last him quite awhile also

Bought this for my pre-teen daughter and she loves it. As other reviewers pointed out, it doesn't hold tons of stuff, but if she puts her books in her locker, it holds all of her notebooks, binders, and water.

Don't necessarily care for the new design. The old one had more pockets.

A very nice bag of an even nicer quality. Love the laptop pocket and the small organizing compartments. Perfect for college, I'm loving it so far. Not to forget, the side pockets for water bottles are high enough and prevent them from falling any time. Would totally recommend this bag.

It is exactly what my daughter wanted. Color is beautiful. I wish the water bottle pockets were slightly bigger that is the only reason why I gave 4 stars to 5.

The jester bag is an amazing super durable bag that I love for school, it looks amazing and functions very well, super smooth zippers and some other great feature. But, there are some that I wish it had like a rubber bottom to keep it from slipping of surfaces and they definitely could have fit a extra pocket in it I don't know why they didn't. Other than thoes things, AMAZING BAG!!!

As a teacher I was hoping this would be a great backpack to bring in daily for the school day. There are a couple of things that just don't make it work for my purpose. The water bottle holders when used affect the volume of the bag. The laptop sleeve doesn't hold me 16-inch laptop. And the front pocket is on the top, so any time I put anything in that pocket and have the main pocket open it causes the smaller part to fall down as it is too top heavy. I can see that this could be useful for other areas, but not for my purpose.

The 2025/2026 backpack material quality has degraded. It is no longer thick. The material is thin and has a criss-cross pattern. The backpacks look cheap, frankly.

Bought this for my teenage daughter for school. It's not as big as other backpacks I've purchased before so wouldn't purchase it again for her.

Nice bag, but wanted it to be more of an outdoors day pack configuration. It feels more like a small work bag or school bag.

We purchased this book bag for my son who is going into middle school. After receiving it, we realized it was too small for his needs and ordered the Recon. The Jester is a great product, but just did not have enough space inside for all of his binders and things he needs throughout the day.

I'm saddened that I fell for the internet once again. I switched from my other brand backpack, figuring the Northface has such a good reputation for quality, and the reviews here were solid, and I've regretted it since. This backpack is designed terribly. It is nearly impossible to get anything out of this backpack easily, and it holds nowhere near its stated capacity. But probably most annoying, they cut the front pocket off well before halfway down, which you might think at least gives you more space at the bottom, but no, it does not. I would not recommend this at all, unless you are looking for a pack that doesn't hold much and makes you work to access what little it does hold

I received this backpack through the warranty program. I had a Jester previously and I loved it. It lasted forever. When the elastic got old, instead of fixing it, I was given a gift card to cover the partial cost of this new version. Let me tell you, it is terrible. It is so front heavy it physically cannot stand up. If I just have my keys in the front pocket, the whole bag will be laying horizontal. The size of the main compartment is significantly smaller, and I can no longer fit all of my stuff. I'm so disappointed in this product.

The cords on the front of the backpack have already popped out and my son has only had it for less than two weeks. There is no way to reattach the cords myself unless I cut open the lining on the inside of the bag. This bag has two pockets, but the front pocket is only half the length of the bag, so it doesn't hold nearly as much as you might expect. The North Face charges a lot for this backpack and so I expected this to be a lot better than it is.

I have had this backpack for over 3 years, has held up exceptionally well, however, the laptop sleeve opening is at best 10" wide, NOT 12". My laptop could not fit. There is NO padding at the bottom, which has caused damage to books and my laptop over time. There is minimal structure to the bag beside the back, meaning it will fall over CONSTANTLY when not being worn. This bag can protect and carry a small- medium laptop or tablet. Great storage and durability, but misleading description and measurements.

The North face jester lacks mobility in the admin panel destroying the point of being fast. The Jester has also very uncomfortable shoulder straps. I highly recommend the borealis instead of the jester. The borealis provides more pockets that are easier for use and more durable panels.

This is the worst backpack for school. I can only fit a small laptop and folder in it. It will not hold a single binder. I would never buy again. I don't know how this is something used for school.

Very disappointed. The bunny string broke and they will not replace it. I have to go thru the warranty and submit a claim. Received it on 8/21 broke on 9/2. 30 day returns is from date of purchased. We lost 1 week of that window due to processing/shipping. Will not be buying another North Face again. The price you pay they should last longer and be easier to return.
