I love mostly everything about this backpack! I love the colors! I love all the compartments it has. I love how it'll last me a long time. The only preference i would want is more zippers for the smaller compartments!

Great bookbag. Plenty of room to fit all my things.

I use this bag for school and binders, I love the fleece lined pocket in the organized pocket (it's where I keep my Apple Magic Mouse). My only issue is that I keep that organized pocket full, and there is no pocket located underneath it, so it often looks lopsided.

It's not as roomy as I thought it would be. It does fit four 1-inch binders.

I really like this bag! It has lots of rooms, pockets of different sizes, and room for my laptop! It is comfortable and durable as well!

I use this product for the gym, school, and traveling. I like the design, its roominess, and also how light it is on your shoulders. The only I would change about it is the flexvent on the back. When I wear it there is space between my back and the backpack. It does not stick to my back. I guess it is preference for some people.

Purchased the backpack for my high school aged son. He absolutely loves it. Very high quality.

I use it as my daily school backpack

I use this at college, and it is a great backpack. I bring it everywhere. The pockets are pretty roomy, and there is a back pocket that fits my MacBook Air greatly. I have loved it and it is very comfortable.

I use it for school and it's really comftarble. I recommend it to everyone who wants something that will last.

I use it for my laptop for the office. I have to carry cords and files. Sometimes there's not enough room for all the files and laptop.

This is a great backpack. It has a great spot to slide in a laptop computer and many handy pockets. The pull cord on the front has been very surprisingly useful. The water bottle pockets are deep and wide for a variety of sizes. I would not call this lightweight but its a normal weight for features. I wish the front pocket was deep and was the length of the front of the pack. We put calculator and small books in it and has a tendency to fall forward when you are opening and using the big zipper area.

This bag is the one for back-to-school. It has an enormous amount of space for a student's daily schedule. It is also fashionable when walking across campus. The patches are a added feature that captures the eye. It's a perfect bag that adds style.

Bought the Borealis backpack in the black patch colorway. Loved the look, shoulder straps were great. Cali summers get pretty hot, and the air flow back support worked great. Only complaint was the laptop compartment doesn't come with a fleece lined sleeve. Returned the backpack because I thought this was a defect because the features clearly state there is a fleece lined sleeve, but turned out it wasn't a defect. After figuring this out, the backpack in the black patch colorway sold out smh. Still a great backpack for the week or two that i had it. Would definitely still reccommend. Just keep in mind that there is NO FLEECE LINED LAPTOP SLEEVE, and the TABLET COMPARTMENT IS NOT FLEECE LINED. Only thing that is fleece lined is the phone compartment and the Sunglasses compartment.

I wish the heavy plastic back piece was removable. It needs more pockets and better placed pockets.

I bought this to replace a Yavapai, which had been my excellent bookbag/laptop bag for years. I returned it as this model is simpler, without pockets for pens and pencils etc. Probably better for hiking. Still good quality, just not what I was looking for.

First, I'd like to address that the backpack I bought for myself (Jester) was a 5/5 stars. The only reason this backpack has 4/5 stars is because it's not good enough for a boyfriend of 3 years. The North Face has high quality products that will last a long time if you take care of it, much like a relationship. If you're going to buy a product for someone and you two aren't in a good position, maybe aim for a carton of ice cream, because that's what you'll need if you buy them this. If I kept this backpack I'd definitely give it a 5/5. Durable- unlike my relationship. Sturdy- unlike my relationship. Built to last IF you take care of it- crazy because I took care of my relationship but people and backpacks are two different things, ya know? Anyway, yes buy this product for yourself, parent, or child only.

I bought this product for hiking and it is fabulous!

I've had the Borealis for about 2 weeks now (i.e. I can't make any claims on durability). I went with it based on a recommendation from a co-worker and so far I'm happy. The laptop pouch is perfect for my laptop and the straps tighten up well and sit nicely on my shoulders. I was happy to see that the lap strap was removable as well. The main pocket is plenty large enough for me to fit 2-3 changes of clothes in. Might only be 1 in the winter months, but worked great for a weekend trip in the summer. So far my only complaint has been that when you load up the small pocket near the top of the backpack, it bulges out quite a bit into the main pocket. This can make it hard to get bigger items you've put in the main pocket out since the little bulge is now partially blocking the opening). Overall, it's a minor problem as 90% of what I carry is in the small pocket and the laptop pocket.

Light weight, seemingly sturdy, but the way the main compartment is set up with the smaller outer storage area on top makes it hard to reach all the way to the bottom. Also, the zippers for the large storage compartment don't go down far enough to fully open the main compartment making it even harder to pack papers, etc.

I got this bag for med school and it does the job. I wish it had an small extra pocket in the front but besides that it's great. Good cushioning on the straps and for the laptop pouch. Price runs a bit high for what I'd prefer to spend but I was buying the quality so no regrets.
