Great backpack for travel. Used as a carry on for computer, books, and some essentials. Also used for afternoon hikes to carry lunch, tarp, blanket and extra gloves hat and insulated layer in winter. I would say it's a mid sized pack to carry just enough stuff and not feel overloaded.

Bought this for my son, all his school books fit in it, plus his toys. He wears it and throws it, durable enough for him to toss around and strong enough to hold all his stuff. Outside school we use for travel and big enough to hold all his clothes.

After two trips to Mexico, this bag was my personal item for the plain. Kept phone charger, laptop, light jacket, fragile souvenirs, two gopros, and camera accessories. Confiable to wear for long periods of time.

Use it mainly for hiking and someday for travel, when it's safe to travel again.

Perfect for my laptop computer and related accessories. Lightweight and comfortable. Quality materials and construction. Lot of pockets. Good design. You get what you pay for.

Out of the bag I was disappointed with the size. I thought well I can use it as a day hike pack. I then proceeded to pack it with 2 pairs of jeans, 5 tee shirts, 1 ls shirt, 1 hoodie, 5 pair underwear, 3 pair socks & unbelievably my large NF shell. Topped it off with my 15 inch MacBook w charger, iPhone, & backup battery. Strapped sandals to the outside. It felt so light and comfortable fully packed on my back. Couldn't believe it. I could world travel with this. Haven't done a hiking pack but I don't think I'd do more than 2-3 nights with it. Can't speak to durability.

I needed a new backpack to take on my plein air painting missions. With this I'm able to carry all my drawing and painting supplies with ease. I really love the curved design, also this bag has water bottle pockets that are large enough to store aluminum canisters for mineral spirits. I stil have room for snacks, and other miscellaneous items as well.

I am on my second Borealis pack. I use them as my "book bag" for work dragging my work stuff and personal belongings around. On weekends they are my day hike, overnight bag. The first one is now relegated to any trip where I might get dirty or wet. I am pretty sure that both will be with me for many years to come. My only complaint is that the waterproof treatment on the inside of both bags has started to flake off - but this is after many years of daily use for both of them. I only stopped using the first one because it was getting too faded and dirty looking for carrying into a work place.

Finally found a bag that can take my beat downs.. I do extreme sports even on my way work, so I burn through Bags.. this one is holding up great..

Perfect all purpose bag- I use it for camping in the Rockies and for travel/ work. Would be great for a student too. Great bag highly recommend

This backpack is amazing! I bought it fall 2013 and used it every day for all of college. 7 years later and I now use it for traveling. I've taken this backpack to every corner of the country and world and it's still in pretty great condition considering how much use I've gotten out of it. There is a small tear inside the inner lining, but that's the only issue after all these years. It's so roomy and I've fit everything from school books to clothes, shoes and laptops and other items in there. Amazing purchase!

I got my first Borealis in 2008, lasted me 8 years of near-constant use. Only replaced b.c I was going on an extended trip and wanted to get something smaller. After a year of not having it, missed it dearly and got another, which I have been using constantly and just as good as the original. BEST. BACKPACK. EVER.

I live in Tuscon, and the sun is constantly beating down on this bag, not to mention that it holds out water pretty well, and still this bag serves well even after a year or so later.

My wife bought me one of these twenty something years ago in the late nineties. I used it to haul books to law school, then work, travel and hiking and camping with the kids. I realized that, even though the zippers still work great and I keep using this thing, after twenty years, the reflective tape started to wear out and the elastic stash cord lost its spring. It looks a little less than professional now. I am going to retire my first one to "go-bag" status now. But as I have been shopping for a new travel buddy, I don't think I can find a better fit for me. I'm just going to get one of the new ones. Here's to another 20!

Great quality bag as one would expect from northface.

Did not disappoint!! Plenty of pockets/room! Lightweight and exact colors as shown in the picture.

I mainly use this product day-to-day in the office, as well as for travel. This backpack is a very adequate size to function the way that I need it to. It has all of the pockets that I like my backpacks to possess - I especially like the pocket specifically for a computer.

I do not have any complaints about this bag. It was recommended by a friend, and now it's my favorite bag of all time right now. The elegant look and all the pockets available for all the little things and gadgets I have.
