Backpack is extremely versatile and is perfect for work or travel. The felt-lined pockets are great for phones and sunglasses, a detail which is overlooked on many backpacks. Plenty of room for everything and is extremely comfortable even when full. Quality of craftsmanship is obvious.

Lots of zippered pockets for organizing my gear. Plenty of room for an overnight bag, but also great for a day hike. Also, can be used as an work or school pack.

I am in the military and purchase this backpack for school. I really like the different features the bag has to offer and the structure of the bag provides good supports for my back. There are plenty of pockets for all of my accessories and the water bottle pockets are deeper than my previous bags and can accommodate larger hydration containers. I have received several compliments. The bag is a great bag. If I were to change anything about the bag, it would be to deepen the IPAD divider so that my IPAD can fully be protected from other items in the bag and to maybe change the shoulder straps. The shoulder straps have been good so far but I have not utilized the bag for that long. Overall, the bag has been great so far so thank you North Face for putting out good quality product!

Nice backpack. The backpack is a darker gray than I expected from the picture, but I think it looks even better than the picture. Very discrete.

I first bought a TNF Surge backpack in 2013 when my current high school senior was entering 5th grade. The backpack is dirty from 8 years of near daily use but is otherwise completely intact. My son plans to keep using it for college. I bought a second one in 2015 for his younger brother and while the design had changed, the quality and durability is the same. These backpacks are seriously tough.

Purchase the Surge Backpack as a daily carry for work. I really like just about everything about it. It carries well. Plenty of space for everything I need to carry. Extra protection for my iPad and keyboard. Looks great too. Looking forward to carrying it for a long time and seeing how well it holds up!

Tough and durable. Replaced another brand that couldn't hold up to daily use. I'm a Daily Bike commuter. NF has experience, its well thought out.

This is the best work pack I've ever owed. My files stay separate from lunch bag. There is room to carry extra strong coffee and my water bottle. My stethoscope had its own special place in this pack. I'm always being ask by my colleagues where they can get a similar work pack. I would totally purchase this pack again!

This bag reminds me of a Land Rover, It's pretty enough for valet service but built to get you to the highest peak. From the board room to the camp ground and all points in between.

Are use my backpack primarily for traveling with my electronics.I have all the space that I need and ten some. Plenty of room for all my electrical gadgets. iPad Pro, dongles, external memory drives, cables and power supplies, battery bank, books, wireless headphones, and a jacket. Everything fits.
The only thing I would improve upon are the shoulder straps. The shoulder straps for the Borealis Backpack are a prime example of comfortable straps.

Great backpack. I have bought a couple of these packs because of the convenience and great look they have to them. It has pockets for everything you need and provided easy access. The only downside to this or really any north face bag is that it isn't waterproof it water resistant. Other than that it is great.

This backpack is large enough to fit several books (or large files). I like that it has multiple sections - the back for a laptop, the middle for whatever you're carrying around, and the front pockets for smaller items.
