stylish for casual use - found that long days walking in them did not support arches very well.

I recently purchased these as my spring/summer walking shoes. I take my twins on one or two stroller walks every day, usually about an hour and a half and 5 miles, pushing 80lbs of toddlers and stroller. Most of my casual shoes are boots or leather sneakers, all of which started to get too warm in these conditions as spring weather rolls in. I sought out something breathable, lightweight, and with a durable high traction sole. The vans UltraRange rapidweld looked like a good fit. These shoes are VERY comfortable, once I dialed in the sizing. I have always been a 12 in Vans but needed to size up to 13 for these. The fit is ever so slightly loose, but the 12 was a non-starter and as is often the case there isn’t a 12.5 on offer. Super lightweight construction, these feel like walking on air. Okay so far for wear with no socks on hot spring days, but might need an additional insole (built in ultracush is non-removable) when the humidity really kicks up They aren’t the best looking, in sunlight there are three or four distinct and not particularly complimentary shades of black on the all black model - it’s fine but not ideal. 20/20 hindsight I’d have gotten one of the brighter color ways, and may do so if I pick up a second pair. Also would be nice to get some more clarity on the differences between the various Vans rapidweld models - I THINK this is the most light/breathable one, but am basing that purely on photo comparison.

This shoe runs a half size small compared to my other Vans. It is also narrow in the toe area. The shoe is very comfortable and lightweight.

Would be all 5 stars if not for the narrow width.

Good looking in classic black and white. Narrower than the Old Skool in the toebox. Bummer, because I wanted these to work - curse my square feet. Longer than the UltraRange, which run small.

Went half size up with Dr. Schools plantar fasciitis orthotics. Very comfortable as of now, feels as if very little break in period. But definitely not a cold weather shoe (below freezing)

This shoe has great comfort and better than usual support. The soles grip and provide noticeable stability, and the shoe itself is a comfortable as a slipper. I have narrow feet and it's nice to have a shoe that doesn't feel too big. I also have high arches and wish the laces were longer so I could tie them looser but that's workable.

These are my favs - BUT, the outer edge against the lil toe has ripped for two pairs (thanks zappos for returns). If they would just extend the rubberized coating a half inch longer it would resolve the issue. I guess its due to wide feet but its a consistent issue for me.

More comfy that typical vans! Slightly narrow, but barely noticeable.

I usually use 9, and it felt like it's a little bit smaller.

I love vans and own several pairs (probably too many, if that's a thing)... These fit a little more snug than other styles, so I'd recommend ordering a half size up. That said, they are super lightweight and very comfortable. a great shoe for travelling or being on your feet all day

These shoes were SO close to being what I've searched for: a comfortable supportive shoe with classic skate shoe styling. They fit EXTREMELY small! my biggest shoes are 10.5, but in these I got an 11, which is a little too long, but still not wide enough. The style is just a little more tennis shoe than I had hoped for, but still they are the most skate shoe looking tennis shoes I've ever found. They're not New Balances, but it's still up for debate whether it'd be too "dad style" to wear them with jeans. For someone with slender feet, these could be a great shoe.
