Really great socks, finally! Smooth woven, non-itchy wool with the perfect give and “foot encapsulation”. Great for casual wear in the and light to medium length hiking in cooler autumnal and early spring weather. For winter in the northeast, these won’t suffice if planning to be outdoors all day — definitely would need to double up with something thicker plus wear a liner sock. However, for casual wear, these are nice. I like to pair these with a silk sock liner. I also like how the band doesn’t slip down but isn’t restrictive in the least bit. Yay for no ankle indentations. These also machine wash well for wool socks. Just use delicate or hand wash. I’ve put them in the dryer and they held up fine but because I like them so much, I tend to hang dry over a heater. They retain their shape really well, too. Lastly, they’re so unique looking and really cute!

I never would have thought that wool socks could be so very comfortable. To be honest, I bought a pair in a store, and when I saw them on Zappos, I just had to have another pair! I used to exclusively wear another brand that were thicker with more padding, but these provide support to my challenged foot, and feel like butter.

Love this pair of socks. They are great for winter weather on the east coast. I previously purchased a pair of these socks and I couldn’t go through the cold winter on the east coast without this pair of socks. I like the cushion the socks have especially since I have a high arch.

Fit and size is true to size… material is wicking and padding is comfortable. The thin top allows my foot to fit into regular shoes as well, for cold winter days. not just for hiking!

hands down the best socks. i got one pair back in 2019 and since then i’ve bought 6 pairs. i live in utah and spend a lot of time outside on hikes and these socks NEVER disappoint. i got my sister on them now and got my mom this out for christmas because she is in wi. they’re the absolute best.

These socks are GREAT. Warm, cushioned, good fit. AND. Kudos to the company--you can actually talk to a real human--who is attentive and so helpful. Glad I found Darn Tough.

I love all my Darn Tough socks. I'm sure these will be fine in time but they seem bigger than past pairs . . . not as snug. I'm women's size 8 but maybe I'll try small next time.

These socks are very soft and warm. No need to hand wash but I allow them to air dry. As with all merino wool products they do not itch like other types of wool.

Darn Tough makes great socks! I'm not sure how these are much different from the light hikers as cushion seems the same. Pretty colors! They are worth it.

These are the Best socks I have ever had,and I have a thing for socks. The only thing I have found is I don't put them in the dryer anymore that way the do not felt. The seem on the toe of the sock does not run across your cuticle and hurt or drive you crazy! I use to wear some of mine inside out so I did not have that happen to me, but never again because these are the only socks I plan on buying from now on. !

I bought them in the navy blue color, which is perfect with jeans. What I like best is that they are warm, very warm, and even with no shoes on, my feet are comfortable. We live in Cape Cod and have hardwood floors and cold weather, and I would recommend these to anyone.

I am now a wool sock believer , these socks are all day comfort i forgot i had these on . they will keep your feet absolutely comforty warm all day long. Not sweaty warm , comfy warm. My last pair lasted more than ten years. I love the colors in this one, so I bought another pair. Darn Tough socks are my favorite for hiking and just being on my feet in general.

Since I hike a lot good quality is important. I like this brand and added another pair to my hiking wardrobe. They don't rub under my boots and absorb the sweat well. They wash well and the product remains high quality.

Was very impressed that my feet did not sweat in my hiking shoes.
